Hi Georgie girl,

Just a few questions, welcome to this friendly board, most people I know here are very nice...

I like to ask you the next question...religion doesn't matter to me, but relationship does, its most important for me to know that my life is safe and secure and ankered in Christ, no matter what happens to me I'm always safe, He bought me with His blood

Do you know Him as your Savior and how important is He to you??

Do you realize that the church cannot save you, but only Jesus can ;)

Love in Christ, Angela

Everybody is still missing the point on this saved/unsaved thing, but whatever. It's all about the love, people...

Hi Angela! I do in fact have a great relationship with God, as I have had since I was younger and first started really talking to Him. I am a Christian and I accept Jesus as Lord and my Savior. Thanks for stopping by the thread...any passing comments (as you can see there is a heated debate...)

This is a paste from an earlier post, some of this may be redundant, but it points out why there are barriers that separate our belief systems, I believe the bible is the foundation which we must build our faith upon, Jesus is the Word and there is no other foundation which we can lay, that will stand.

I don't believe I a'm a catholic basher, I once was apart of the " Catholic Church"

I do not dislike catholics, in fact I still have many friends and inlaws that are of that belief system. And I want to say that thier are most likely a number of them who are saved, not by the doctrines of the Roman church, or doctrines of men, but through the gospol, there are a number of catholics who write on these boards and I believe they are searching for the truth, I believe that no religion can save you, only by placing your trust in Jesus and his work on the cross, by which he redeemed us, can you be saved, and I believe that almost all catholics would say they agree with that statement, but..., and this is where the problem arises, how the gift is administered, they make faith a system of proceedures, they place "Saints" between you and God, God only has children, he does not have any who are closer to him, or removed from him, yes it is true that are sins separate use fro God, but if you are a child of God then you have an advocate with the Father, and if you ask for forgeness he is just and faithful to forgive us our sins.

We can boldly enter into the Holy of Holies, another word into the throne of God,

as believers our sins will only affect us through chastisement, through trials, sickness, and even death to some who choose to live and continue in sin, but we cannot lose our salvation, because he (Jesus) paid for all of our sins, but the catholic doctrines teach that you must recieve sacremants, unbloody sacrifice , when we know that without the sheding of blood there is no remision of sins, and after he paid for our sins, he sat down next to the Father, making intercession for our sins, the cross was payment in full, for the whole world, and as many as recieved it, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, God gives freely but man wants to control this dispensation, by placing shackles on those who they seek to control, I turned on the television this morning and it was tuned to the catholic channel, I watched for several minutes as these nuns led by some mother pray over and over again, Hail Mary full of Grace the Lord is with thee, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus, holy Mary mother of God, pray for us sinners now and the hour of our death. There is one meadiator between man and God and that is the Lord Jesus, and God told us to not cease from praying, but also said not to use vain repitions, The catholic doctrine states that the bible is holy, and is the word of God, but they also use the companion to the bible the book of traditions, and doctrines from elders, and councils to interprite all lititure even the bible. example would be the council of trent. Peter would not alow anyone to kneel before him, butyet the Pope allows this, I believe that we should be able to question other faiths and doctrines especially in fourems that are called controversial, only through dialog will we be able to reveal obsticals that hinder those who follow creedes and doctrins of men, believe can have different meanings to different people, and it is written that the devils believe and yet they tremble, what you believe is the key, you con ask a mosulem if he believes in Jesus Christ and he can answer yes, but ask him if Jesus is God's only begotten son, and the redeemer of this world, and the only way to heaven is through him, I doubt if he would agree. There are many religions that will say Jesus is a way, or one way to heaven, but not the only way, should we then say, well as long as you believe in Jesus than you are saved? No! Jesus is the way, He is the narrow gate, broad is the path to destruction, and many who enter in, there is no window left open, there is no second chance, no purgatory where you can pay of your sin debt, I wish that people who are lost could enter in to heaven, but other than Jesus I don't see any other way, least not in my bible. I ask anyone who is trusting in any other way, to search the scriptures, where you spend eternity is held in the balance. should we be silent and be more coscerned with not making waves, or should we question doctrines that leed man away from the truth, that is what we believe to be the truth, and in this great nation we have freedom to express ourselves, no matter what our beliefs are, and I believe that by having a forium like this one, many will come to the Lord as saviour, and many will grow, there are many questions that are answered every day, and the fact that many different responce's appear, the truth can often be gleened, I hope that the moderators don't repress issues just because they are to controversal, because conversation is how we win those who are lost, and edify those who are walking in darkness, or following false doctrines. Yes we should speak the truth in love, but also rember Jesus is the rock of offence, and there will be those who will not recieve sound doctrine, and even that woman who rides upon the beast in rev. who ever she is, God say's the people that are in her that belong to him, come out of her my people, seek and you shall find, knock and it shall be opened unto you,

search the scriptures for in them you believe that they life, they are they which testify of me. Glory to God in the highest.

"I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." - John 14:6

So what you're saying still is that anybody who never comes to Jesus, regardless of the reason, be it that they were raised in another religion or that nobody ever spoke the Word to them and they were never exposed to Jesus, is going to Hell? Maybe that's not what Jesus means....

And maybe it is... All we have to go on is what he gave us. Jesus is not a liar so if he says it, it is truth. Were are mere humans we can never understand the mental workings of God. I put my trust and faith in him that he will be Fair and Just in his judgements. I trust that he has given ALL the opportunity to come to him. But on the same token he has told us that there is ONE way and that way is Christ.

God Bless,

Dave

Well...reading all the previous posts again, it seems obvious that we are not going to convince each other. I do maintain my belief in how non-Christians can come to the eternal presence of God. That will not change. But I respect that you've formed your own opinions about the subject, and I think it's high time for somebody to raise something else! We just seem to be talking in circles, that's all.

G-girl,

I'm no theologian. But I have been studying the Bible long enough to know that that is exactly what He means. I know that it seems "mean" in some way, but this is why we should be getting the gospel out to the world. If anything this fact should show you the vital importance of the need for more missionaries and evangelists that are full of zeal to get out and see others get saved. Too often we are complacent with our own salvation and we tend to have a "Who cares if the rest of the world is going to hell." type of attitude.

A person goes to hell because they have transgressed the law (sinned against God). Not because they are not "good" people (in man's eyes).

"The wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." - Romans 6:23

"The way of a fool seems right to him, but a wise man listens to advice". -Pro 12:15

This verse sums up a philosophy of a world that professes to be wise yet ignores the counsel of God's word.

As for Gandhi...you may all disagree, but I find it hard to picture Gandhi in Hell. John Lennon, Malcolm X???

Next you'll be saying George Harrison is in Heaven!

Like I said before...our confidence in the nature of G-d is that He is RIGHTEOUS and there will be nobody cast from His presence that does not deserve to be...but really the enormity of what it means for a person to be condemned to eternal damnation should spur us all on to preach the 'Good News of Salvation' to the lost all the more passionately.

John 6:35 Yeshua said to them, "I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will not be hungry, and he who believes in me will never be thirsty.

John 6:36 But I told you that you have seen me, and yet you don't believe.

John 6:37 All those who the Father gives me will come to me. Him who comes to me I will in no way throw out.

John 6:38 For I have come down from heaven, not to do my own will, but the will of him who sent me.

1John 2:29 If you know that he is righteous, you know that everyone who practices righteousness is born of him.

Psalm 58:10 The righteous shall rejoice when he sees the vengeance. He shall wash his feet in the blood of the wicked;

Psalm 58:11 so that men shall say, "Most certainly there is a reward for the righteous. Most certainly there is a God who judges the earth."

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
