I guess I should pray for God's wisdom and discernment, as Solomon did.

I know I haven't heard a loud voice speaking to me, but sometimes, I have felt a Bible verse strongly in my mind and usually it would give me good guidance for the issue at hand....

I have to say I liked the way GOD's voice is shown in Christian movies to be loud and clear ...

If want a job you must make the search.

Oh man, am I tired!

No offense, but your grammar is a bit off with your words.

My first thought was, "That almost sounds like Yoda."

Then I considered, "No, if it was Yoda he would have said:

'If job you want, search you must make.'"

:24: Man I must be tired to think this is so funny!

 Definitely time for some shut-eye, neb!

I love it when God speaks to people in movies too, sister. In my own experience though, when I ask Him for guidance, a thought out of the blue will sometimes just pop into my head; always something totally at odds with my own thoughts. That's when I know it's from God. :)

Hey, I've read some of your posts. You've got a pretty good head on your shoulders and a sincere desire to discover His will. You will find it. I'm horrible at remembering chapter and verse so this is an awful paraphase, but - He who began a good work in you will complete it. I'll get started trying to find that verse.

Your doing fine!

Blessings FI2C,

I too believe you are using.. as well as sharing wisdom and discernment by the direction of the Lord here at Worthy. You have been used many times to touch my heart, through the word as well as your testimonies. I also believe your ears are open to what the Holy Ghost speaks to you.

What I have found on this journey that as long as we desire things thats pleasing to the Lord, weather it be the supernatural things that has been shared in the bible or from godly vessel, if it cause a true burning in our spirit, then He will grace them to us.

I remembered when I first got saved, and I began to read and hear about how I would receive power as the Holy Ghost would come upon me, about being baptized in the Holy Ghost (speaking in tongues). This burning inside of me and the desire to experience what happened on the day of Pentecost as well as to other believers. I was met with so much opposition. Many said that to speak in tongues was for just that moment in biblical history. Others said that it wasn't for the will of God for me to do it, because of what Paul had shared...oh sister the list is too long to share. But I went to the Lord, and I laid out what His word said.."For the promise is unto you and your children and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God has called." I tell you at that moment my tongue got loose and He (Holy Ghost) spoke and continue to this day! Praise the Lord!!

FI2C if you want to hear the voice of God...just ask Him with a humble heart and a deep desire to know Him, not like the other fellows, but for yourself. Thats all He wants is for us to know Him for ourselves.

Heavenly Father, I stand here praising You for whom You are. I come with gladness that FI2C wants more of You. Your word tell us to seek Your kingdom and every thing will be added unto us. What more gives Your great pleasure than one of Your own desiring more of You? Guide her in Your beauty, embrace her with Your love, share Your glory where her lips may rejoice I called upon the Lord and He answered, Bless be the name of my God! In Jesus Name, Amen.

Found the verse - Philipians 1:6

Amen to that A Disciple. FromIslam2Christ, God has given you great wisdom, and you have shown the wisdom God gives us through the Holy Spirit.

I readed a book many years ago called, Disappointment With God, by Philip Yancey, just started to read it again. In this book, he deals with three questions we as Christian (I should say I as a Christian wonder about) sometimes think about. 1) Is God unfair? 2) Is God Silent? 3) Is God Hidden? It does sound so ungodly to ask these question, but I know I think about them alot, and I think most Christians do also.

Just read a chapter where he was noticing in the Old Testament, how God revealed Himself directly to the children of Israel after they left Egypt. Yancey stated that God had caused ten great plagues on the Egyptians, divided the Red Sea, feed the Israelites with Manna and quails, and so many more miracles He had done for them. If ever a people knew God was fair, and not silent, nor hidden, it was Israel after leaving Egypt. Did this make them strong in faith, and love Him for all the good, God had done for them. No instead it made them wine and complain about wanting to be back in Egypt. As a parent who wants the love and trust of His Children don't you think God was truely hurt.

I would say to you, just as you have stated use the discernment of the Spirit. Remember theses words Solomon wrote: Where no counsel is, the people fail: but in the multitude of counsellors there is safety. Proverbs 11:14

If you still have problems remember this passage which I'm sure you already know.

James 1:5-6

5) If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

6) But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.

I will be praying for you FromIslam2Christ.

Can't say I get anything real tangible from the Big Guy either. But looking back a bit, all the good things in my life are the very things I would have done differently at the time if I could. I'm a guessin' that is not an accident.

Sorry mate..i cringed a little when i read "Big Guy".

I don't think this is a respectful name for our Lord.

OK. No disrespect intended, but point accepted.

If want a job you must make the search. You then get a job that fits you. The action between the search and getting the job is the voice of God. That applies to anything you ask Him.

Blessings

but how to now the job i searching for is GOD's will?how to know the difficulty is the test not the "no answer"from GOD?

Nothing happens as a coincidence. Your job search is in God's plan for you (either for good or for a growth experience). You will know if you go to Him first and make it about His will and not yours. Sometimes God lets bad things/lets us make bad choices, to teach us to depend on Him for everything.

I agree with the above!

Hearing the Voice of the Lord brings your relationship into a MUCH deeper level.

Consider this:

I Cor 12.3

... no man can say that Jesus is Lord except by the Holy Spirit...

so, then.. say out loud.. "Jesus is Lord."

You could only do that by the Holy Spirit.

The same Holy Spirit that reveals the Voice of God to us.

Did you notice how quiet the voice was?

This is why we have to listen, to get quiet, and to learn how to hear His Voice.

Start by asking Him to hear His Voice..

then do scripture reading every morning..

then watch carefully throughout the day for one of the scriptures to be brought back to you during the day.

This is one way that Holy Spirit teaches us how to hear the Voice of God.

Learn to fine tune into those scriptures day after day, and then, you will learn to recognize His voice speaking to you.

NO ONE wants to have you learn how to hear His Voice more than HE does.

Where did you get the idea in the first place? From Him. He loves us sooo much and wants to fellowship with us, here, now, today, and forever.

Seek Him. Ask Him to help you. And don't stop seeking until you are hearing Him.

It will change your life forever, in a good way, a great way.

Hearing the Voice of God for yourself is so wonderful.

I live to hear Him.

My peace comes because I have heard Him.

There is nothing better than to hear Him say 'good morning, My child" when you've just sat down with your coffee and bible for devotions. Makes my day everytime. :)

Remember, this was all Jesus' idea, "My Sheep hear My Voice."

... And guess what the sermon was about today at church? About how Jesus is the Good Shepherd and how to know His voice.

I want to give praise to God in the Highest for answering my calls and questions this week through movies I watched, Bible verses I read, and through this forum.

Just now, I read a post by OneLight and his signature is Prov 3: 5-6, which are the same verses I have been receiving from the Lord all week... they came to me from all kinds of sources!!!

The Lord's promises are indeed true.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
