Im sorry I wish I could tell you yes you can speak life into him. But I cant. Its not scriptural. If its Gods will that this is his time to pass on, then nothing you say can stop that from happening.

Pray for his salvation. Give him the gospel message. Treasure the time you have with him now. Pray for him and get others to pray for him. Give thanks to the Lord for the time you have with him. Give thanks to the Lord for all things.

My sympathy to you. Its not easy watching a loved one suffer from cancer.

I'm sorry TT, but I don't think that you can keep someone alive by the power of your tongue, outside of the will of God. God gives life, and God takes it away. All we can do is try to discern His will, and pray in His will. It is always hard to disagree in very sensitive topics like this, I hope and pray you take my opinion in love.

I wish it were true, and that we could "speak life". Then none of us would have to go through the agony of watching a loved one die.

:emot-hug: :emot-hug: :emot-hug:

I know this is very personal for you at the moment, and I am praying for you and your Dad, that the Lord might bring Him to salvation before his passing.

Do not be discouraged! My brother was healed after being prayed for. Last fall, my sister faced a bout of shingles, a car of teenagers driven by a drunk driver hit one of our trees just after she walked away from that area, cataract surgery, pneumonia, followed by what the doctor thought was an ulcer. All of this followed one after the other.

She was sent for some tests and the result was cancer of the stomach and the intestine. She had never been sick a day in her life except for pneumonia as a child. We knew that chemo was out of the question as was surgery. We were going to trust in the Father's promise to heal her.

By late spring of this year, a Redwing blackbird was coming to be fed along with the other birds. This particular day the neighbours son was over talking to us and the Redwing would not quit squawking, so my sister went to get some seed to give to him, and as she went he followed squawking all the way from shrub to shrub to post until she gave him the seeds.

It was then that the Bible verse came to her, "Ask and you shall receive." and do not stop asking until you get an answer. Just like the woman with the judge, or the next door neighbour asking for bread, that is what the Lord wants us to do. My sister was weak, her colour was pale and in pain, but though we had been praying fervently, it was that verse sent by God through a bird, that struck home.

She had asked each doctor, " Do you believe in miracles?" All but one said no and one said maybe.

We tend to put our faith in the doctor, but not that same faith in God. Why? Who has the power to heal?

Today my sister out works me. Is healthy, no pain, great colour, shine in her hair and thinks that she may have been too proud of never having been sick before. Was it a lesson from God? Did He heal her? My answer is unquestionably YES!

Do we believe in miracles - would Jesus have told us to ask if it were not so?? How can we believe in one part of the Bible and not in the Whole?

This question is about Proverbs 18:21"Death and life are in the power of the tongue" ... Does anybody out there know what the actual meaning of this scripture is? ... Can we use this as a way to speak life over someone who the doctors have written off as terminal?

I have heard word of faith ministries say that we can. But I am not a big fan of those, so I usually don't put much stock in what they teach. Still, if they're correct about this and this IS what Proverbs 18:21 means, I most definitely want to do this for my dad! Though I'm not sure how... Can anyone help me with this? :help:

My dad is in the process of dying of cancer. He is already at the last stage where Hospice nurses are coming out to his house. He is in much pain and growing ever weaker. The last time I spoke to him on the phone he sounded just awful and like he was fading away... My heart is truly breaking over him! :broken_heart: I weep daily. I don't want him to die and he has expressed the same thing. Worst of all, he's unsaved! I DON'T WANT HIM TO GO OFF INTO AN ETERNITY WITHOUT CHRIST.

I want to do anything I can to help him. I do pray for him and post requests for you here at Worthy to agree with me in prayer for him. But I just wondered if us 'speaking life over him' would help?

The answer to you question is that we can either accept God or we can deny Him. Life is in the tongue.

About your father. I strongly suggest that you get to him or call him continually and be telling him about why he needs to repent and get saved. If he runs you off that is his choice but you will have no guilt if you do this since you would have done all you could. I will pray for you to do the right thing and him to listen.

I think you can keep someone alive by speaking life.

True life though. Pray for your father, prayer is powerful, speak life to him; tell him that Christ does love him, that IS speaking life and the Holy Spirit may indeed come to your father and give him true life. We all die, we will all walk the path your father is walking and it is a horrible sad thing for you to go through but there is true life awaiting him and us.

Peace to you.

I personally believe that its pertaining more to these scriptures as an example...

1 Samuel 17:

42 And when the Philistine looked about, and saw David, he disdained him: for he was but a youth, and ruddy, and of a fair countenance. 43 And the Philistine said unto David, Am I a dog, that thou comest to me with staves?

Basically he just confirmed his on death here.

And the Philistine cursed David by his gods.

Look closely at who he challenged here.

44 And the Philistine said to David, Come to me, and I will give thy flesh unto the fowls of the air, and to the beasts of the field. 45 Then said David to the Philistine, Thou comest to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a shield: but I come to thee in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast defied.

And there's life... in which David stood on.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
