Dan...

Because of my love for God.

Joh 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.

1Jo 5:3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.

So what are his commandments?

1Jo 3:23 And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment.

God bless,

For me, being saved was not important. Seeking God, loving Him is the most important. Being saved is more of a fringe benefit. Obeying God is not something I do for salvation at all, it is something I do out of wanting God, loving Him, desiring to please Him. I would do the same even if I had no assurance of salvation.

C!!!

out of gratitude for all He has and all He continues to bless me with in life. He loves me. little ole me. and i know i can always count on Him to see me through any situation, no matter how grim it may be. why wouldn't i choose to show my gratitude by doing what He asks of me? not that i'm perfectly obedient, by any means, i would never lay claim to that... but i certainly don't intentionally do things contrary to His will, because it would be like slapping the face of the one who loves me most.

Why I Obey God

I obey God because God loved me first. Christian obedience is a response of love, not a reaction of fear, because it is written:

1 John 4:18-19

There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears [punishment] is not made perfect in love.

We love because he first loved us.

I do not obey God because I will suffer in Purgatory if I don't; I don't obey God because I fear Hellfire--Jesus bore God's wrath in my place. I obey God because I was saved by Christ, just as someone who was bailed out of massive debt does not do the things that plunge a person out of debt just because he is grateful to the one who bailed him out. Anyone who sins or disobeys God fragrantly merely proves that he was not saved to begin with.

1 John 2:3-6

We know that we have come to know him if we obey his commands. The man who says, "I know him," but does not do what he commands is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But if anyone obeys his word, God's love is truly made complete in him. This is how we know we are in him: Whoever claims to live in him must walk as Jesus did.

John 14:15, 23-24

"If you love me, you will obey what I command."

. . . "If anyone loves me, he will obey my teaching. My Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him. He who does not love me will not obey my teaching. These words you hear are not my own; they belong to the Father who sent me."

Let me summarize what I mean with a poem I wrote:

Broken

Broken minds with broken hearts

give rise to broken trains of thought

that rise up from the broken parts

in search of answers they have sought.

A man who broken questions asks

will not his satisfaction find

for answers are but mental tasks

which elude the broken asking mind.

But broken answers too exist

and raise up questions in their wake

that if not challenged, they insist

more broken hearts and minds to make.

An answer given now to mend

the broken minds and hearts is here;

their crooked way He will unbend

if broken ones by faith draw near.

The Answer came and He has spoken;

to Him the sinner's faults are plain,

yet He for sinners' faults was broken

by broken sinner's hands was slain.

But breaking Him was not the end;

the third day He from death did rise

with wholeness sinners He shall mend

with love, eternal life our prize.

Our prize indeed, but not for works,

for works are but our love's response;

the prize was by the Answer won!

And where His victory is trusted

guilt's forgiven, busted, gone.

Amen, Hallelujah!

The quality of life demands it.

The influence on others demands it.

AMEN Adstar!

We obey, because we believe what we heard!

Heb. 4:3 For we who have believed do enter that rest,................

4:6 ...... and those to whom it was first preached did not enter because of disobedience,

Do you believe what you hear of His Word?

In His Love,

Suzanne

I obey God because He sent Jesus to pay a price for me that I couldn't pay.

I obey God because while I was still in sin He loved me.

I obey God because he demands 100% of me...my love, my devotion, my obedience.

I obey God because His word commands me to.

I obey God because I want to show my love to Him.

I obey God because He can be trusted and I know that everything that happens to me in my life passes through His hands first so therefore I have no fear.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
