Hey Joshua, i didnt mean arguements in the negative sense, i welcome all arguement/debate of valid points, but i was also hoping for historical proofs more than each others opinion of what the bible says.

IMO the bible is the highest order of proof, peoples interpretations of it are not.

Was Justin Martyr part of the Roman Catholic Church? i thought the RCC stated with/after Constantine 365? A.D. I also thought that the early church fathers did not insist on adherence to the RCC to be saved as they do today. I concede that wickedness did creep in as Satan set up his counterfeit church, but i dont know much of earliest times.

There have been trust worthy theologians in most generation, surely there are trust worthy writings from those who were converts under Paul or Peter etc? There are writings from pagan writers of every age, are there none from devout christians also?

Justin Martyr was a roman philosopher with pagan roots, who came to the Lord through the intervention of the church praying for him from what I've read. Though I believe he was a believer, I do not think his letters are a valid source for saying that the Lords day is the first day of the week, and it is superior to sabbath. That assertion is not biblical, and as I said earlier, After the destruction of Jerusalem, I can see evidence for anti-semitism starting to rise. around Justin's time I don't think the Roman Catholic church was started yet, but I think that the Roman Catholic influence started in progression, and is the Church lead by demons mentioned 1 Timothy 4. I do find it interesting that the Roman Catholic Church holds Justin as a highly respected saint, however a lot of Christian commentaries I have read are cautious about Justin and do mention He has a hint of anti-semitism.

I've been praying about the sabbath, for a long time now. I have been on both sides of the argument. The other day the Lord brought me back to Isaiah 58, which not only shows Gods heart for the poor, but also references the Sabbath. I think it's a joyful thing, but not if it's an obligation. Seek His presence and where He leads. Let all things be done in love and intimacy with Him. I'm going to leave this discussion because I do not really find it edifying and I have been on this topic through 2 threads now. God bless brother.

hi Yod, where is your proof of a "greek spirit" being the reason of this change, or more importantly where are the historical records of the early church keeping the seventh.

One can not see the greek spirit until one steps out of it. The truth has always been there for anyone who wishes to find it. If you can't see it, then I say you haven't really looked very hard OR you have been looking to greco-knowledge exclusively.

I've seen it since I was an atheist trying to prove the bible was wrong and after 20 years of faith, I have seen nothing to contradict the fact that greco-humanism kicked the jews out of their church club almost immediately and began re-interpreting the scriptures to suit a European religion.

After having spent 20 years studying the subject, all of that information won't come out in a single post or even a multitude of threads, but if you will be specific, I'll fill in any gaps you want filled. The Syrian-Jewish christians were keeping Sabbath into the 4th century. Polycarp, (the only of the early church fathers who actually knew an Apostle) not only kept Sabbath but advocated for Pesach (and the Feasts of God) to the utter exclusion of Easter.

OK, now I'm going to have to see the movie to understand what you mean. From the reviews I read, I was under the impression from reviews that Perseus was antagonistic towards Zeus.

Justin Martyr among others spent much time showing up the absurdities of these so called gods to the Greeks and pointed only to Jesus as recorded in the gospels. The early church fathers were respected among the christian church, so i find it hard to see that they would be ignored by churches in Greece?
