Why Choose Christianity?

Or, why is Christianity the only one that is different?

When you go over all the world religions. You will notice that they all have some similarity and as some here have pointed out, why is Christianity right and they wrong?

Well in a nutshell, Christianity is the only one that is really different. The rest are all the same.

In order to save time you can check out the chart

http://www.religionfacts.com/big_religion_chart.htm

Now this chart is not 100% accurate, and it has some big misses on what Christians believe, and what Mormons believe It lumps all Christianity including some cult like parts as one. They also erroneously report that the Mormons, only have 3 gods. This is true at face value, but they also believe that you can become god, so there are to them thousands if not millions of gods. But over all its a good nutshell view.

Now, I was going to try to do a point by point comparison on each one, but that would require a book and that has already been written, so I will try to be succinct.

I am going to propose that there has to be only one true religion, and if there is only the one that is truly different that must be the true one. I believe that is Christianity.

You see, if you look at that chart, and look at what each one says about god/gods, mankind, you will see they all have some basic beliefs. All of them say you must do something, to please god/the universe what ever. You must work to gain a better eternity. They all say that man can do something to get god/the universe/etc to smile on you. Most of them have little to no punishment, or a way to escape it after you die, this does have a few exceptions.

So in a nut shell most of them, bring god down a few levels closer to man. They bring man up a few levels closer to god and they all make you work for your salvation/ nirvana etc.

Again I have posted a link where you can look into it deeper if you wish.

There is one major exception. There is only one that teaches that you can do no good work to save yourself. Only God has mercy. Man has no chance to reach him without Gods grace.

In other words only Christianity says God is 100% above man, that he is all knowing, etc. It also says that man, is not worthy at all of God, and salvation, and that nothing he can do can save him. Its like trying to jump the grand canyon, no matter how much of a run you get, your just not going to make it.

Christianity teaches as well that it is by grace that we are saved, not by works. So there is no good work that can get us into heaven.

Basically that Jesus is the bridge across the Grand Canyon of sin.

It is the only grace, work free religion that gives all the power to God. It is the only one that is different.

Now I could go blow by blow on each and every religion showing where they go astray but again that is another book. For more info go to http://www.carm.org

I hope this helps.

The truth is , if you compare christianity as a religion , it is no different to any other religion, look at how many murders where commited in the name of God, look at the history of the C..... church, tortued people if they wouldnt convert, forced people to go to war, telling them they would be forgiven if they went, not much different to other extreme religions is it. Walking with Christ is a faith not a relgion, relgion is a man thing and in so is full of faults.

For me it is the perfect truth in that it explains the witness of the infinite in all that is around us... It is condemnation to all that we have ever known as to corporeal-> the total eradication of sin by destroying the lump of dough that the leaven was introduced in-> this very activity shows the infinite of Spirit is unaffected by the created thing! That which came into being from His Spiritual Thought (His Image), before created substance was began, formed into our understanding as Word Was God through which our being was began in us and as we who believe His Son with all that we are and yearn for His Cleaness and Perfection that we may worship without stain or remembrance of sin... The immensity of the problems in this world, this place, can only be found in the immensity of the solution within The Word of God... One does not have to search long within It's pages to see that It's origins have come down from a place we, as yet, have not witnessed but by so believing we would trade all that we have here to go there and herein is saving faith... Christianity is unique and does not really share much in common with "religions" because Christianity is uniquely wrapped up in the person of Jesus Christ. Being a Christian is not so much about belief or following some ritual, formulistic rigmarole. It is a vital, life giving participation in the life and person of Christ. In other words it is a relationship.

Religion is all about performing well enough. It is all about finding acceptance and validation through performance. Jesus is not interested in people performing well enough for Him. They couldn't possibily do that anyway. Christianity is Christ. One does not have to have a relationship with Mohammed to be a good Muslim. One does not have to know Buddha in order to be a good Buddhist.

The person of Jesus Christ is completely and inextricablly linked to Christianity, your opinion of Christ will utimately determine your opinion of Christianity. Christianity is not about self-awareness or finding the "inner divine self" or any of that other humanistic nonsense. It is all about Jesus and who He is and who we are in Him.

Amen! When we start trying to win our salvation through good works or ccorrect theology we are doomed. Its all about trusting Jesus to take our burden from us.

It is His Word that reveals more of Himself to us that through Word building faith we better know Him and in Love, He gives us, we are made better to show that Love to Him and others through obedience! You cannot separate Spiritual for His Written Word or His Written Word from Spiritual both are the whole of life in Him... Love Steven

Hi all

So as you are saying that works don't save us but only faith through Jesus, does this mean that there is no need to work, do good deeds and avoid sins? Does it mean that anyone can commit sins as long as he believes that Jesus will save him? Does it mean that a man who is believing that Jesus will save him and doing good deeds will be equal to a man who also believes in salvation through Jesus but he is not doing the good deeds the former man does?

Yes and no. Only faith in Jesus saves us. It means that nothing we do will earn us heaven, but does not mean we are not to do good works.

Ephesians 2

By Grace Through Faith

1 And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins, 2 in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience, 3 among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others.

4 But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, 5 even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), 6 and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, 7 that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. 8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 not of works, lest anyone should boast. 10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.

Faith Without Works Is Dead

14 What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can faith save him? 15 If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food, 16 and one of you says to them,

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
