Often times, in many ways, you feel "blessed and fortunate" to be following the Lord Jesus Christ. There are things that are done, according to the world that you look at, and feel happy that you no longer have a taste to do. However, let's be honest, dispite Paul's emplore of all of us, we have carnal urges. For love, for affection and yes (we are all adults and Christians) even for sex. For many, the longer you go without that (in the human world) the more you seem to desire it. It can even become a "stumbling" block for many Christians. They jump into relationships with those who take them away from Christ and they compromise on purity and end up having sexual contact before getting married.

How did you resist the carnal urges of the world? How did you go about knowing you were equally "yoked" with the person you are with?

I would love to see your post on this subject

Thanks for your interesting topic!

Well first I want to point out that, before I was saved I certainly had my fair share of lovers. But, God changed my heart and I was made a new person. The past is forgotten and I was reborn.

I was saved by His grace nearly 3 years ago, and sexual sins and desires are certainly things I struggled with. As I was going through the scriptures, I found no evidence that "long term dating" was biblical, in fact it states that it is better to marry then to give in to sexual sins. So within 4 months of being saved, I was married. My husband and I courted for 3 months, only seeing each other with chaperone's and leaving even our first kiss for our wedding day. Because of how quickly we married, certainly the critics will find that, we didn't have time to properly getting to know each other, and it certainly caused a certain amount of challenges especially in the beginning. But the Bible says nothing about "getting to know each other", my husband and I honor God by loving, and caring for each other. For taking on our God-given roles. My husband is my leader and I fully submit to His authority. We center everything we do, every decision we make around God, and despite the fact that my husband and I appear to have nothing in common, none of that matters because God has blessed our marriage tremendously through our obedience in Him.

All of that to say, I believe that in order to keep yourself pure, it is imperative to find a spouse quickly. God says nothing about dating x amount of people, for x amount of time. The reason it says nothing about it, I think, is because the more you date, the longer you wait, the more likely it is that you will fall into sin. Now certainly some will not be called to marry, and through the obedience to God they will overcome those impure thoughts. But for those whom God has called to be married, I pray that they might find that person young and that they might glorify God through their marriage.

Christ came into the World to bring the Truth of Him Jn 18:37 ... within that truth is Who He is and what was necessary by The Father

to bring salvation to His creation! Death, burial and resurrection the Gospel was,is and will be the only door of life and belief in Christ to cry

out in repentance of everything we are as sinners headed to hell and eternal separation from God. This Gospel can result in Spiritual rebirth and the

indwelling of of God The Holy Spirit... Our lives who have passed through this door are now no longer our own but are owned by the Price Christ

paid for us and in that Ownership we are to be Holy as He is Holy and to reckon ourselves dead to the body wants for we know it is not redeemed

and will not relinquish it's carnal wants of lust of the flesh, lust of the eye, pride of life -> therefore we are to reckon our flesh dead already

because of sin and walk in the Spirit thus to engage our mind, soul and dead bodies in the service of God to His Pleasure and Glory...

So all must first contemplate can I live solely unto God in devotion to His Word as advised by Paul or to marry because of lack of self control!

We are now a People who have been Given God Himself in The Son to live within us by The Person of The Holy Spirit and if we draw near to

Him He will draw near to us... "To whom much is given much is required" ...

frightening to evaluate this in light of the above truth -> what do you do with Christ in You? Love Steven

I've been single my whole life, and am 37 now.

When I was younger, it was more difficult; I thought I needed physical contact with a woman every three years (no interest in sex or nudity makes life easier).

eHarmony was nice some years ago.

10.5 months of chronic pain (including headache) has drastically reduced interest in a relationship.

I may be called to singleness for until death, but perhaps not. I'm unsure of God's plan.

If one believes that their faith in Christ is crimping their love life, they not only have a false understanding of love, but have replaced Christ with the idol named sex. Sex and being in love are vastly different.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
