i know many people have diffrent viewpoints on the subject of the antichrist and i have come across some teachings that say nero is the antichrist that was talked about in the book of revelation because his name is the greek numerical equvilant of 666. i havn't made up my mind on this issue yet but im leaning towards the beliefe that he isnt the antichrist. opinions and scripturel support welcome

Everyone who denies the Father and the Son is antichrist.

There have been many anti-christ in the world. There are also dual fulfillments of prophecy also. Pointing to past people such as Nero as the final fulfillment of prophecy doesn't allow for final fulfillment at the end of the age, for most anyway.

The message was to lose ones life was to save ones life and thereby not abandon the faith during those trying times. Revelation is called apocalyptic literature; as Daniel was. This style of Jewish literature was commonly written betwen 2nd century BC and 2nd century AD.

There are other books of Jewish apocalypses, but deemed non-canonical (approved by a church body): the three books of Enoch, the second Book of Esdras, the Apocalypse of Baruch, the Ascension of Isaiah. Found amongst the Dead Sea Scrolls were the Christian apocalypses of Peter and Thomas, and the Shepherd of Hermas.

If you do not know that the little horn in Daniel is Antiochus the IV and the one cut off was Onias the III then you do not understand Daniel.

sorry but you lost me when you started with the apocriphil (misspelled) books .IF they were of god he would of let his people know. god's spirit bears witness to my spirit that those are not of god. we need to examine and hold fast to that which is true.

There were also antichrist's in the Old Testament. Nebuchadnezzar, Absalom, Ahab, Sennacherib etc

They were all wicked men used by satan to try to stop God's plans for His people.

All of them were defeated.

Might I suggest that you define who/what the antichrist is..... that term is not used in revelation and from all my years of reading and talking with folks, it's seems that not everyone has the same idea as to who or what the entity is.

Nero died way before Revelation was written.

Revelation is future tense.

Revelation 14:1 Then I looked, and behold, a Lamb standing on Mount Zion, and with Him one hundred and forty-four thousand, having His Father’s name written on their foreheads.
