I will not gather plenty, but I will have my trust in God.

God told you what was coming OneLight..... maybe he did so for you to be ready for it...... He told Joseph to be ready..... and he told Noah to be ready..... are you better than them that God should just do all the work and planning for you?

Just some questions going on through my mind that I thought I should ask....

I am lesser then most, but allow me to ask you this. Why would people stockpile their goods? If they have enough for 6 months, and it appears that things will not go well for many years, will they share with their neighbor what they have when their neighbor comes in need, or will their hearts be hardened by denying their neighbor?

My task, which I have accepted, is to lead people to Christ. I do not fear what is coming. The wise will learn how to live off the land and need not to purchase anything, when it comes down to taking the mark to purchase.

When God tells me to store up for a famine to prove to the unsaved that there is a God, or to store up because He is going to cause such a disaster that there will be no other means to survive, then I will obey. I have not found in scripture where this will happen.

When the antichrist comes and the last half of the seven starts nothing you can do will keep you safe.

Only God can keep us safe, as He did our forefathers. I agree!

In the mean time when things do go wrong you can help yourself and others to survive. History has proven that it's hard to reach people when they're hungry. When the things come that are to happen before the antichrist gets here will the Mormons be the only people that can help other people.

We know that tough times are coming, who will you be able to help? It's hard to convince people that God loves them when they are hungry...... ask the missionaries that go to poor countries to preach.

BTW Ayin, when we were attending the Mormon Church they told us to have enough for a year, not seven. I did not reach the level of attending temple meetings so I am not familiar with what is taught there.

The Holy Spirit can work in a person no matter where they are. It is not up to us to convince anyone of anything, but to tell them the truth.

Besides that, ever hear that if you give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime? BTW, I will not be in as poor country, but here in the US.

We'll see how it goes when you try and get 200 million people to go fishin' some weekend in the future LoL And that's possible if we don't kill each other off in a war before it gets here. I really don't understand your idea here OneLight. God has warned people of hardships to prepare for all through times..... what's so different with this one. i'm not pushing people to store up for the trib....... what would we do with seven years of toilet paper???

But when I've seen how the government responds to emergencies, and told by the Word that those emergencies are definately in our future, and it's so simple as to put some things away for emergency use...... even Homeland Security tells us to put away food and water for some time.... good luck with your attitude. Most likely we'll end up in the same place....... but I won't be hungry...... and if you come by before they take us away I'll help out as much as I can.

We have several retired missionairies within our church organization that I've visited with and it was from their experience that I say that it's hard to reach people who are perpetually hungry.... I respect them enough to take what they say at face value because it's been their life's work.

Back in the 70s, my family was taught (no we were not mormons but we had lots of mormon neighbors) that we are to have 7 yrs worth of food. I googled now and found out that hinkley changed it from 7 to 1 yr sometime after he was made president in 1995. I guess the 7 yr thing got too expensive for them lol. Every now and then I see my neighbors get deliveries of the stored type of foods, in big blue barrels.

Thanks for the laugh ... 200 million people fishing! Whew would we get so many worms??

The thought is that people are told to buy gold, stock up on can goods, etc. My idea is to learn how to live off from nature and you will not have to worry about buying anything when the rubber hits the road. I also believe that if people taught others how to do exactly what our ancestors did to survive, instead of depending on the production of food and the purchasing in stores, people will last a lot longer. So much has been lost and the US has forgotten so much that was once held as common sense.

You do the math ... teach a person how to survive or feed then at each meal, and multiply that by , what was your number, 200 million!

I can guarantee that I will not be hungry either. You have been around enough. Have you forgotten how to live off the land?

My best bet if the US Economy collapses?

Trust in the Lord, Jesus, As he is our savor, our shelter, our provider, and our comforter.

However, if that does happen, then I grow the Hevaten borders, incorporating each neighbor by sharing survival tips, sorceress, and protection. Eventually, we'll have a nice quiet slice in the south ran by a responsible government.

And yes, I do have some U.S. Gold Dollar coins, but that's just money. Having people to help you survive and protect you is enough for most people when they face such a Crisis.

Back then there was only a fraction of the folks living now. According to a recent news article, there are now 7 billion folks in the world. It is not remotely possible to live off the land as individuals, especially in cities. Not just food wise, but also with the means to cook it. How long do you think firewood is going to last if electricity is lost?

Seven years of what Beck is advertising would be pretty expensive. According to their web site, for a family of 5 (two adults and three children) it would cost about $70,000 for seven years. The food should last up to 25 years...... I'm not sure what "up to" means though and it might also take a small warehouse to store it all..

I think the one year thing was because it would take that long to be able to plant food, grow it and start living off the land. It's been a while since we went there,, but that seems to be in my memory. They also store and keep enough seeds that will keep reproducing themselves so they can grow their own food each year after that.

My wife's a pretty hot chick for a 60 year old, but I carry enough extra weight that I could easily do with half the calories for a year and be OK. I could loose 80 pounds and still be fit for a 65 year old. Picked up the extra weight when i stopped smoking. I didn't change my eating habits though so I'm guessing stopping smoking did something to my metabolism. I can still swim a mile and walk around that moving river at the "Y" for a mile.... so I'm not too out of shape....... round is a shape too. LoL

Far longer then the shelves in the stores holding food. How long do you think the supply of food will last once the trouble starts? How many will be able to afford the price of food once the 3rd horse of Revelation rides? I can see where you will have a harder time then I would, giving our geographical differences.

You are assuming that one needs a fire to eat. There are plenty of eatable food that does not require cooking.

You give an estimate of 7 billion people in the world. When the tribulation starts, how many will we loose? Without trying to calculate the numbers, it will be just a small fraction of these 7 billion left seeking food.

For those who are trying to plan enough stored food, there are about 2555 days in 7 years. How long will a can of soup last on the shelf? How easy will it be to find an underground source to purchase food when what you have has become so outdated that you fear to eat it? People have become too dependent on our social structure to provide their needs. Learn to live off the land and you will live far longer and in better health then if you continue to depend on what you can buy.

Face it, we have become not only spoiled, but dependent on others to give us comfort. How is it that humans have lived for so long without the comforts that we enjoy?

You know that does sound well and good Onelight, but.... What about the people who live in big cities like New York? Also, how about people who live in apartments? Or even people who may live in a house but on such a small piece of land they can't grow enough food to last them a year?

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
