So you think only the fathers pass down sin nature?

Well, until we see a person born without a father's seed, we'll never be able to test the theory.

nebula, it has been proven in Christ, no earthly Father, no sin.

Well, firstly I should have typed "another person." Sorry.

Secondly - well, being God wasn't enough?

Something to think about: Eve was not alive when God told Adam not to eat of the fruit, and by the conversation between Eve and the Devil, it seems that she didn't receive correct knowledge about the tree for she was of the opinion that she would die if she even touched the fruit...... so the devil used that situation to entice her to eat of the fruit and it is my personaly opinion that since Adam had not properly told her of the fruit that she was not held responsible for her actions.

It seems only fair to me that a just God would lay the blame where it needed. Adam knew not to do so no matter what and did it anyway..... and here we are today stil dealing with it.

Mary could not be sinless as she was not divine. She was in the same boat as the rest of us......only Jesus Himself walked the earth in that perfect state.

excellent.jpgYou shall have no other god's before ME... not even Mary His Mother.... Love, Steven

Right you are, Steven, and Mary is not the mother of God, because Christ existed from Eternity pass, she just gave him flesh.

I recently stumbled on to this question and people have different opinions on this subject.

Was the Virgin Mary sinless or not?

Some of the answers I have heard range from a Catholic view to what is in the Bible.

Any thoughts here? :noidea:

Here's what Martin Luther said:

"It is a sweet and pious belief that the infusion of Mary’s soul was effected without original sin; so that in the very infusion of her soul she was also purified from original sin and adorned with God’s gifts, receiving a pure soul infused by God; thus from the first moment she began to live she was free from all sin. She is full of grace, proclaimed to be entirely without sin- something exceedingly great. For God’s grace fills her with everything good and makes her devoid of all evil."

-(Sermon: “On the Day of the Conception of the Mother of God,” December [?] 1527; from Hartmann Grisar, S.J., from the German Werke, Erlangen, 1826-1868, edited by J.G. Plochmann and J.A. Irmischer,

And where does the Bible say that Luther's ideas are truth?

I know where the Bible says that the Bible is truth, but Luther's misconceptions don't seem to be supported by any verses.

"There is no one righteous, not even one;

there is no one who understands;

there is no one who seeks God.

All have turned away,

they have together become worthless;

there is no one who does good,

not even one" (Romans 3: 10-12).

So, would you conclude that there was one?

But anyways chesterton, are you suggesting now that Luther is some kind of authority? If so, do you know what else he said?

Here's a great analysis of the biblical basis for this belief:

*Edit* Link Removed. Chesterton you know better no catholic apologetic links.

BTW I don't really care what the Martin Luther said, I only care what the Bible says. The Bible says that "ALL", that means "All" have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.

Isaiah, doesn't it beg the question of who does care what Luther said?

I mean, if we don't care then it must be chesterton who cares... except we know he doesn't...

Some honesty and consistency would be nice. Too much to ask, maybe?

I'm shutting this down right now until we can get it cleaned up. Please oh please lets not make this yet another bashing thread! No more catholic apologetic sites, no more getting personal with one another either.

I deleted the offensive posts. Grace goes along way in how we talk to one another! We are not Yeshua, we are not to take whips to one another in any shape or form. Address the op, keep it on topic and any and all bashing will not be tolerated by anyone. Catholic bashing, catholic apologetics will not be put up with period. Stick to scriptures please, if you do put a link up make sure you think twice about what it contains.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

      Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

      This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

      You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

      Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

      I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

      For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

      2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

      So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

      Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
      Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

      Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

      As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

      Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
      Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

      So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
