What are your opinions? It seems that in the old testament, this was true according to what Jesus told Pilot before He went to the cross.

Hello our3blessings.

I believe there are differing degrees of guilt involved in sin. To hate a brother is murder but is not as bad as the actual murder. The hatred comes from our sin nature and the act is a symptom of that.

RO 2:12 All who sin apart from the law will also perish apart from the law, and all who sin under the law will be judged by the law.

There is a harsher judgement coming to sinners that have heard the law and the judgement involves what we knew as well.

But what about now? Does the blood of Jesus change that and make one sin like another?

No. All sin is judged by God on it's own demerits but we are not able to judge its effects. Adam stole an apple and destroyed the world. Killing a man may have a lesser effect than stealing an apple. We cannot weigh the effect or penalty of sin.

Or do you think that we will be held accountable according to the degree of our sins?

We are not held accountable for any of our sins.

COL 2:13 When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your sinful nature, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins.

PS 32:2 Blessed is the man whose sin the LORD does not count against him and in whose spirit is no deceit.

He forgave us all our sins is the point where our faith saves us from judgement.

Thank you!

It's a pleasure.

All sin will end you up in Hell without the saving grace of Jesus Christ. So in that respect they are all equal.

There are varying degrees of condemnation, so there must be some sins greater than others in God's eyes.

And don't forget that there will be varying levels of exaultation in heaven as well.

DIME Ministries,

My thoughts tend to differ from those of which have already been posted here. No sin to me, is greater than the next. Unless of course it is the one sin which is written within the very pages of the New Testament that is unforgiveable. That sin of course, is using the Holy Spirit in vein or swearing upon it.

Otherwise, other sins truly are not something of which I feel are more worse than another. It truly depends upon how you look at it. Should anyone have any questions as to why I believe as I do, then please feel free to ask it of it of me, and I will do my best to explain.

With Love In Christ,

Danielle

Hi Our3blessings, I agree i think we all may have a differant opinion on this and Yes murder would be much worse of a sin than stealing a can of pop from a store. But Sin is Sin. As humans we are not perfect and sin is always there tempting the flesh. We must stay focused on He who beat sin. He is our Freedom from sin.

God Bless you Always. Michael :b:

Danielle.

I agree with both you and Dime.

You.

sins truly are not...more worse than another.

Dime.

...varying degrees of condemnation

I accept both those statements as true. I'd like to know your reasoning Danielle. Thanks.

Here is what the Bible says:

John 19:11

Jesus answered, "You would have no power over me if it were not given to you from above. Therefore the one who handed me over to you is guilty of a greater sin."

Genesis 18:20

Then the LORD said, "The outcry against Sodom and Gomorrah is so great and their sin so grievous.

Exodus 32:30

The next day Moses said to the people, "You have committed a great sin. But now I will go up to the LORD ; perhaps I can make atonement for your sin."

1 Samuel 2:17

This sin of the young men was very great in the LORD's sight, for they were treating the LORD's offering with contempt.

Ezekiel 8:6

And he said to me, "Son of man, do you see what they are doing-the utterly detestable things the house of Israel is doing here, things that will drive me far from my sanctuary? But you will see things that are even more detestable."

Ezekiel 8:13-15

Again, he said, "You will see them doing things that are even more detestable."  Then he brought me to the entrance to the north gate of the house of the LORD , and I saw women sitting there, mourning for Tammuz.  He said to me, "Do you see this, son of man? You will see things that are even more detestable than this."

Nehemiah 13:27

Must we hear now that you too are doing all this terrible wickedness and are being unfaithful to our God by marrying foreign women?"

Psalm 19:13

Keep your servant also from willful sins;

may they not rule over me.

Then will I be blameless,

innocent of great transgression.

In the Jewish Covenant, Moses gave the Israelites the Law, which included some sins that were worthy of death, and others that were not worthy of death:

Deuteronomy 21:22

If a man guilty of a capital offense is put to death and his body is hung on a tree,

Deuteronomy 22:26

Do nothing to the girl; she has committed no sin deserving death. This case is like that of someone who attacks and murders his neighbor,

Don't forget, there is an eternal sin, and others are not eternal:

Mark 3:29

But whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven; he is guilty of an eternal sin."

1 John 5:16

If anyone sees his brother commit a sin that does not lead to death, he should pray and God will give him life. I refer to those whose sin does not lead to death. There is a sin that leads to death. I am not saying that he should pray about that.

Just a few things to think about. :t2:

:t2:

The bible says that the wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23). All unrepented sin leads to judgement and death. To us there are varying degrees of sin or guilt based on our legal system. Murder is viewed as a more terrible crime than say theft thus has a greater penalty. According to the bible however, the end result of any sin is death, so it doesn't matter what "degree" we might attribute to the sin.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
