It's nothing new...

Luk 2:1 In those days a decree went out from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be registered.

Luk 2:2 This was the first registration when Quirinius was governor of Syria.

Luk 2:3 And all went to be registered, each to his own town.

Luk 2:4 And Joseph also went up from Galilee, from the town of Nazareth, to Judea, to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and lineage of David,

Luk 2:5 to be registered with Mary, his betrothed, who was with child.

Maybe the ID back in Davis's day was the lack of forskin.

Bwhahahahaha. That would have made for a terrible job if thats the case.

One question for all of you who think this is a good idea: What happened when David numbered the people of Israel?

There was only two reasons to number everyone. To go to war, or to take taxes. You already have both! I don't understand why you raised this issue when it was the motivation behind David's census that made it ungodly and have the consequences it had.

When did God tell us not to take a census as he did Israel????

We are required by constitutional law to count the people every ten years......

Besides that, this has nothing to do with counting the people..... just to be able to prove who you are and if you are a citizen.

Maybe the ID back in Davis's day was the lack of forskin.

It wasnt God idea to take this particular census, 1 Chron. 21:1 Now Satan stood up against Israel, and moved David to number Israel. So God was angry at David, David disobeyed God. Yes God does count His people for His own reasons and at His own times. Counting people for a census can go in many directions and for many different reasons. What have you done to the Sam I know! lol Not that I think this national id thing is either good or bad, it could be both.

shalom,

Mizz

Mizz, that Sam had some rather amazing enlihgtenments...... He got a grasp on some things that he'd been pondering for a really long time, and his priorities shifted as to what's important and what's minor and what's to worry about and what not.

As for the ID thing you are right.... it could be something used for good or it could be perverted into something bad..... The old Sam used to only see the bad..... He also saw the shortsightedness of what he'd been doing and decided to change.

Can't say I am not surprised! but in a good way! I am glad that God showed you what you were asking after. There is a danger of anything during south and being used by that advesary but frankly not every single thing is a conspiracy or something we need to be upset or worried after. Now if I could only convince some family members of that!

shalom,

Mizz

Woman were rarely counted in the total of people nor were they counted with the chickens and sheep, they just seemed to not be counted unless they held property, I could be off about that though. It all goes back to coveture.

Hey Glory!! How you been sis. And you are right, but they may have wanted to be sure.

Doing great! Where have you been? And, just so I don't hijack anyone's thread........I'm glad we have just plain ol' census takers these days! :taped:

In and out...I was dropping by every now and then to see who was posting. I wish I could retire and be a Census taker. I''m 50 years to young for that though. (I say 50 because I probably wont get any decent social security check until I'm over 80.)

Well, my wife and I are both retired. I'm 65 but she's got a few years to go for ss. Just to note that one can not live on Social Security even now. Make other arrangements. I don't mean if you can, I mean do it. The both of us working adds up to nearly 80 years and we put back our whole lives and never lived above our means. While the SS is nice, we really don't have to have it if the other things we put in savings don't go away.

however it's always possible that it could all go puff over the weekend and one has to be prepared to just let the lord provide like the birds and the bees.

I have a drivers licenxe that identifies who I am. I fail to see the problem with an ID that says I'm a Citizen of the United States and identifies me as me.... It will be no different than my drivers license...

I am from Barbados in the Caribbean and an ID is issued to all citizens from 16 years. No one here has complained about it. When you go to the bank you use for identification. I am wondering why people would resent something like this. It seems rather strange.

Yes, the Constitution says count the people every ten years. Nothing wrong with that. What the Constitution doesn't say is to require a National Identity Card. They can stuff it into a place of their choosing.

I think I agree.... the same people who are bucking this are the very same ones who complain about illegals getting things from tax payers...... weird.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
