WAIT A MINUTE HERE!!!.....didn't Jesus have a blackberry?

Anywho, I would NOT be surprised if there was a church out there that didn't believe the bible, that thought it was metaphorical and filled with "stories" and believe that Jesus was a "teacher".

I have to admit, a few years ago, before my conversion from New Ager to Christianity, I told everyone I was a Christian because the title sounded good and I went to church sometimes. But I would sit there in church mentaly agreeing and disagreeing with everything the pastor said. I had never read the bible, I believed Jesus was a great teacher and very wise, but I thought the Bible was full of stories with morals that were taught.

When I became an actual bornagain christian last year the fire of the Holy Spirit came inside of my heart and I started consuming the Bible! I would read it for hours! The words would jump off the page and speak to my spirit, my soul craved the Bible, and reading it felt/feels like quenching my thirst with cold water. I can still sit and read for hours at a time. I started at the beginning, and to read it and actually really believe it to be 100% truth and historically accurate is amazing! I am sure there are minute errors, but I don't really care about those.

So, to get back to the OP, yes I think there is a HUGE movement of people who pick and choose what they believe in the Bible, it is sad, but they figure they can believe in the parts that make their sins ok. I like the person's post earlier about how people completely throw out the laws agains homosexuality and remarriage. Sometimes people in my church are divided so I have to be careful who I might make mad with my 'conservative' point of view.

Are you saying you received the infilling of the Holy Spirit?

Yes, I did. It is an amazing feeling! Happened very fast. I had all this evidence gathered for God and Jesus Christ being who the bible says he was/is, and when I put all those peices together it hit me pretty hard, kind of all at once. Then I got a bit scared and was like "oh man, He is watching me! I better say something!" So I prayed, and I cried, and asked for Jesus to forgive my sins and be my saviour. Then I felt something happen inside of me, a kind of warmth, and like a weight lifted off my shoulders, this warmth quickly developed into a huge craving to read and learn more and more about the Lord, I became a bit obsessed! And I still have that feeling, it never left, but now it has made me do other things as well! It like took over my life and my heart. Alot of the things it made me do I didn't want to do, like give up cursing, and getting out and talking to people about the good news, and tons of other stuff. At first I was fighting the change, but then I gave up fighting and it has been smooth sailing (for the most part). I have gotten made fun of alot though along the way, but it doesn't bug me.

getting off my soapbox now sorry! :soapbox:

Great soapbox!

Well what you experienced, is what Jesus spoke of in John 14:26; But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.

That's why you have experienced what you have in reading His word. Without the Advocate, we are not fully equipped to rightly divide the word of truth.

1 Thessalonians 5:21 (KJV)

21 Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.

1 John 4:1 (KJV)

1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try {{ or test}} the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

How do you suppose you are going to do this?

The anointing of the Holy Ghost?

Church dogma?

The traditions of men?

Your own reasoning powers?

Lotsa luck!

Acts 17:11 (KJV)

11 These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.

2 Timothy 3:16-17 (KJV)

16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

2 Timothy 2:15 (KJV)

15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Numbers 17:17 (KJV)

13 Whosoever cometh any thing near unto the tabernacle of the LORD shall die: shall we be consumed with dying?

Because we human beings are so ill equipped to discern truth from untruth that what we may even think is the Holy Ghost may be one of Satan's messengers of light.

2 Corinthians 11:13-14 (KJV)

13 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.

14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.

The Bible is truth the Bible is truth.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
