notes on dinos and flood...

Kent Hovind has a really good video about dinosaurs, it has lots of overwhelming evidence that they lived with us. Some even as soon as 200 years ago, and some even today! Think loch ness monster. I took some notes while I was watching Kent's video, I just went and dug them up. The video was also about the flood as well. Here are some key points:

• God stretched out the land above the waters. Most of the water was underneath the crust until the flood
  
• Noah was 600 years old when the ark was completed, he was smart enough to know to bring baby animals. No bugs, no fish, only air breathing animals. And only 2 basic kinds of animals, not every species.
  
• Noah's son had a son named Norphaxad...poor kid.
  
• there are 270 flood legends
  
• Hawaii: After the first man Kuniuhonna, the world became wicked, except for one good man named Nu-u. He made a great canoe with a house on it, filled it with animals. Water came over the earth and only his family survived.
  
• Chinese: Fuhi and his family escaped a great flood and repopulated the world.
  
• Toltec Indians of Mexico: Believe the first world lasted 1,716 years, then destroyed by flood that covered the highest mountains, only one family survived named Coxcox.
  
• It might be impossible to find Noahs' boat if he took it apart to build houses.
  
  • Lizards never stop growing until the die
    
  • After the flood the dinos got off the ark, they faced hostile environment. No more canopy of water.
    
  • They could no longer live long enough to get really big, plus people were hunting them. (dinos are delicious)

  [*]age inflation of the earth: in the year 1770 the earth was only 70,000 years old according to top scientists, in 1905 the earth got a bit older, now they said it was 2 bill years old, 1969 the earth was 3.5 Bill years old, and today the earth is 4.6 bill years old! The earth ages 21 million years per year! I guess it takes a lot of time for "evolution" to happen!

  Because the Bible is a book about the fall and redemption of one creature only; man. That's it and that's all. The redemptive process began approximately 6,000 years ago and will be completed with the imminent second coming of Jesus Christ.

  The Bible doesn't speak of dinosaurs, doesn't give lessons on tectonic plate movement, doesn't address the formation of stars and galaxies or even the historic development of dogs and cats. The Bible is very specifically focused on one thing and one thing only; God's relationship with fallen man.

  It would be helpful if the disciples of Christ tried to be as focused as the Bible.

  If you want to open a discussion about dinosaurs or the horticulture of past ages or the formation of this planet, then you should consult books on those subjects. The Bible is particularly silent about that.

  LIKE ALL OTHER BOOKS, the Bible focuses on the subject it describes. God gave this special book, HIS WORD, to us in that format so that we'd understand and not be sidetracked by topics THAT ARE IRRELEVANT TO REDEMPTION.

  Even discussion forums like this one are organized by subject in order to clarify the topic.

  When anyone, Christian or atheist, adds prehistoric creatures and events into the Biblical mix they are not only trying to muddy the clear waters God has made for us, but may also be guilty of the sin of lying.

  How clear does it have to be? There are no dinosaurs in the Bible. There never were and there never will be.

  Stop trying to install a subject that God did not intend.

Has anyone ever seen the documentary Dragons or Dinosaurs? I think it's up on Netflix. It covers about everything discussed so far, and some interesting points that cast doubt on radio isotope dating. I used to believe God created the world but it was billions of years old...etc. etc. I was a biology major in college, and I was most proficient in the area of evolutionary biology. I was even picked to be a teacher assistant and teach other students the tenets of evolution. I didn't want to question the science professors, because, after all, they had fancy degrees on their walls and letters after their names. Then, I decided to do the unspeakable and doubt the powers that be, and what they were telling me to think. I took all the rigorous tests that I had applied to my battered faith and applied it to the belief system of evolution. It turns out, evolution is just as vulnerable as any other belief system. Life is a matter of choosing where we place our faith. I've chosen to place my faith in the revelation of God's Word.

There is no mention of these creatures having been created by God. God created all things that he saw as GOOD, dinosaurs did nothing to establish a kingdom or gain dominion over the earth. They simply ate, slept, and procreated themselves to death.

We all can agree that Lucifer was cast from heaven with a third of the angels, right? use your brain for a second, how could one attempt to be like God? Through miracles? Christ gave us the power to perform miracles. So it can't be that. I think that it is creation... Lucifers rebellion could have been an attempt to create his own creation, to be like God, but being a lesser being than Yahweh, he failed. And thus, God had to destroy the face of the earth to form Adam and establish dominion over that which he created.

Even to this day, wicked men are in the process of 'creating' things that are damaging and unhealthy to the populace. Everything from pharmaceuticals to energy supplements(outside of natural herbs), these are things that God did not put here. He gave us the earth and what it produces, and even that has been turned against us.

Its just speculation, as we may not be meant to ever know the truth before this earth age.

I don't think satan or any other angels have the power to create things. I think that is God's forte. I believe satan was thrown out because he wanted praise like God.

Angels do not have the equipment needed to procreate, angels are all male. When we start adding stuff to the Bible that is when we get into trouble. Just sayin

May I ask, you don't believe God created dinos? (I don't think we existed at the same time as the dinos or that they were on the ark munching

hay with the giraffes)...

Angels don't procreate? What about Genesis 6 and the account found in 1 Enoch 6? These 'sons of God' are his angels, the same mentioned in Jude 6 who' kept not their first estate'.

I will try to clairfy if possible. no, I believe that all things were created by Jesus Christ, as we are told in Colossians 1:16, including the angels and Lucifer himself. I was merely speculating a thought to try and break the falsehood that dinos and humans lived together at any time. I have a problem when Christians refuse to accept scientific, historical, and archaeological facts. I'm sure Satan wanted Gods praise and glory given him by the 'host of heaven'.

There is mention in the Jeremiah 4:23 of a time when the earth was 'without form and void' and it speaks of cities and men... So it is apparant that we are but merely a speck in the hourglass of life, and the things before us we know nothing of. We may think that we know, but we do not!

As far as miracles go, we may not see them the way our mind portrays them. Example, giving sight to the blind---yes, Yahshua literally gave sight back to a blind man, and with faith, i believe we could do the same. but on a lesser level, have you ever witnessed to someone that was a non believer, and have them 'open their eyes' to the truth?

The same goes with raising the dead, where Jesus literally spoke people back to life, there are people that are dead inside, spiritually. Perhaps they had walked a Christian life until temptation and suffering came about(parable of the mustard seed). I have known people in my life that lost a loved one, or a child and blamed God. God surely works in mysterious ways, but who are we to question His divine will? Oftentimes, they end up resenting God for their loss, and lead a life of sorrow. A spiritual death is not a pleasant thing. But by doing works, and leading by example, we sometimes can bring them back 'from the dead'.

LOL...well you may not appreciate my honesty after you read my response in the Christmas thread, but if you really do appreciate honesty, then we

should get along even if we do not agree. Seriously, that is my take on things.

Well we agree on the Human/Dino dynasty. I do not believe that either. I have a problem with Christians telling me that I am not a Christian if I

believe something differently than they do regarding Genesis. I absolutely absolutely believe in Christ as my Savior and all that the Bible teaches

but I do not think at all that we all know all there is.

Which, results in getting my ire up when I am fed Bible verses and told to repent regarding my approach to Genesis. Actually, my husband and I had

a pretty good discussion on that very thing this AM over coffee outside on our porch. He believes in 6 days and that's it that's all, HOWEVER we obviously

have to respect the other persons view and it can make for interesting discussion.

Yes I know there are other verses to support the different take on Genesis.
