1 Cor 3:10-15

10 According to the grace of God which was given to me, as a wise master builder I laid a foundation, and another is building upon it. But let each man be careful how he builds upon it. 11 For no man can lay a foundation other than the one which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. 12 Now if any man builds upon the foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw, 13 each man's work will become evident; for the day will show it, because it is to be revealed with fire; and the fire itself will test the quality of each man's work. 14 If any man's work which he has built upon it remains, he shall receive a reward. 15 If any man's work is burned up, he shall suffer loss; but he himself shall be saved, yet so as through fire.

NASB

I think this pretty much gives us the latitude of different denominations as long as they are built on Christ. We'll see how each of them stand up in the next few years as the firestorm comes.

Daniel is the picture of non-compromise in the bible. This was ingrained in me as a young christian and I determined not to compromise on what I knew from the Word as a result. Alone the way I have come to realize that we are at war, more fierce than any fought in the flesh. It is nice to know that the person bringing up the rear is on your side.

Not to bring up another thread, but the bottom line in doctrine seems to be what does it mean to be truly saved. The bible clearly says there are false believers, false bretheren, wolves in sheeps clothing.

This may seem simplistic but I boiled it down to this.

1. Did the Father call you?

2. Did Jesus save you?

3. Do you know you have the Holy Spirit?

4. Have you repented of your sins?

To theologically understand this is not what I am getting at. No one had to explain to me that I was changed. I knew it.

Hi He'sTN,

If a non-believer came up to you and said they would like to come and worship with you you'd jump at the chance!

Actually no, I wouldn't. The bible says that to worship God it must be done in Spirit and in truth. The unbeliever can't do this.

I would probably ask Why do you want to do this and share the gospel with them.

Depends on who "they" are, some are and some, it looks to me like, maybe not. I don't know enough about some to know.

ok, sorry my bad let me rephrase....if a non-believer wanting to come to one of your meetings you would want them to yes? so that you could introduce them to what it means to worship God and follow true doctrine yes?

my point was I don't see how it would be different if this person invited was a Christian from a denomination you believe to be false...that would mean in your eyes they ARE a non-believer and should be treated in the same way! the difference is they are already open to Christ!!!

alot of times you can find people don't even know about some of the false teachings within their own denomination...go forth, educate!!!

does that make more sense or do you still think me false?

Hi S,

Hope I didn't seem harsh.

alot of times you can find people don't even know about some of the false teachings within their own denomination...go forth, educate!!!

Isn't that what this thread is supposed to be about, sound doctrine. Those that TRY to adhear to sound doctrine are often labled LEAGALIST, or UNBALANCED.

It seems that I focus on certain issues and thus come accross as legaistic or unbalanced. From my perspective, I don't have to "educate!!!" in areas I agree with. Most don't take the time or just haven't seen the other side of people because they focus on certain issues themselves.

I don't mean to be harsh either, but can you be 100% sure you have the hold on what is absolutely true?

I don't know about you, but there are many things I was raised to believe, which I've since learned aren't quite that way, and I have had many views and beliefs and doctrines reshapened or crushed or formed or reformed. Although I stand by my convictions, I have learned it foolish to act as if I've "got it". The day we stop learning is the day we stop growing. In such a matter, I plan to never grow up. I pray I am always humble enough to be open to continue learning and relearning.

And it's not just you, but it really does concern me when people hammer off about "you gotta believe the 100% truth, or you have no truth at all."

It makes me feel like, "So, I have to bow to you as the source of 100% truth now?"

Can anyone here stand before the Lord, look directly in His eyes, and say, "I'm right, (s)he's wrong, and therefore I am more fit for the Kingdom than him/her?"

Really?

Hello again larryt,

no i didn't take it as you being harsh don't worry

I do understand what you are saying and I see the merit in it BUT I also feel that you might be missing out on opportunities to outreach and show people the true gospel. I'm only caring that we all do our best to help people find Christ's love you know?

"Most don't take the time or just haven't seen the other side of people because they focus on certain issues themselves."

???sorry but isn't that what I'm saying? that we need to sit where they sit and take the time? to show people the other side? ...or have I missed your point here? sorry if I have.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
