No one is advocating banning guns; only the big magazine, rapid fire weapons preferred by mass killers. Remember that two of the biggest gun rights supporters in the Democratically controlled Congress are Democrats (Harry Reid and Robert Warner). A ban on all weapons or overturning the 2nd Amendment is not going to fly.

the problem with this is that Chicago is not an island, so them having strict gun control and the surrounding towns and states not having strict gun control makes Chicago's meaningless.

This is not really a good argument against gun control.

And because America is an island therefore gun control would work...oh wait....

I did not present the info on which you refer (Columbia).

You refer info from a far left anti-gun group as evidence of gun ownership.

However, gun sales have gone through the roof since the Obama administration took power. We have had periods of time where we could not buy certain stocks of ammo, or certain models of firearms because of the incredible demand.

So their "research" cannot be trusted at all.

Can you get figures that separate out drug and gang wars vs. everything else.?

Not offended damo just pointing out the obvious. Gdemoss, a 45 acp with a 15 round mag is just as safe as a 38 with 6. Point 1. Point two guns arent just crime deterrants theyre corrupt government deterrents, without them theres not much stopping anyone from bringing those mass graves here. Point 3 you should double check you ballistics-a 38 special will certainly kill a man if you hit them in the right spot-but it wont take a man off his feet. And if our government falls and we face invasion, then your going to want large mags and rounds powerful enough to penetrate body armor.

when it comes to travelling in the philippines i did not have this problem gun i own is their for a reason last year an Australian was taken hostage and has not been set free still being held captive a family member who is a retired police officer had a word with my partner and mother in law and said that he will be getting me a gun for the very reason
