Oh yeah, because our invasion of Tripoli never occured...neither did our war with Mexico. People have always lived in fear within America. If not from the French, then from the British. If not from the British, than to the Native Americans. If not the Native Americans, then the Mexicans. If not the Mexicans, then the Spanish. If not the Spanish then the Germans. If not the Germans then the Japanese. If not the Japenese then the Soviets. If not the Soviets then the terrorist. The thing is, we've been scared since our foundation.

Steff here is something you should think of.

"The Man Without A Country"

Early 1800s, Nolan, in a fit of anger, told a military court that he never wanted to hear of the USA again. Nolan was sentenced to have his wish fulfilled. He spent the rest of his life at seas, never again to touch an American port and never to be given any news about the United states, As the years passed, he lived to regret deeply his rash statement and to long for any reminder of his home his family and his native land. He died abroad the ship 50 years later, and in those years he heard the name of the United States once. His exile taught him  the meaning of patriotism, however, and before he died he said, "There is not in america. . . a more loyal man then I. There cannot be a man who loves the old flag as i do."

The reading comprehension of people on this board is appauling.

The point of the article was missed, by almost every single person here who posted. It's pathetic really.

AT:

I give it to you Steff, you are the all time trasher of America, you post more disgusting lies than anyone that I know of, and you appear to hate your country with a passion.

Nothing here is a lie. There is a difference between hating your country and loving it but pitying what it has become and what it has devolved into.

Steff -

The whole world has changed.

That's not an excuse. Do we change our morals and ideals because "The world has changed?"

The answer should be obvious. The truth does not change, and people sometimes don't like hearing it, but it is still the truth.

Steff,

The "that America doesn't exist anymore" is a lie.

There are different issues today, but the same Godly people that through prayer really upheld our country have "decendents" today that still do.

Some people see a half empty glass, and some see a half full glass, but you see mud, and you throw out mud, and that mud slinging is getting so very old.

I have no desire to offend you, but you are offending me, as you cheapen the efforts of those that are trying to do good, your speech weakens the hands of the workers of good, and that is so very unChristian.

I have actually considered not reading any more of your posts, just to keep from this very difficult struggle.

And to me the glass is 50% too large.

I have no desire to offend you, but you are offending me, as you cheapen the efforts of those that are trying to do good, your speech weakens the hands of the workers of good, and that is so very unChristian.

I'm sorry that speaking the truth offends you. But at some point somebody has to say something before it is too late. I refuse to lay down and let people constantly trample the things that made this country great.

One result is you do indeed drive me to prayer, and I spent a lot of time tonight wondering in prayer before the Lord if I was right to be offended, and I am not right to be offended at you, so I do repent of my anger, and of anything that I might have said that is rude or condemning, but could you PLEASE lighten up on the condemning of America, please?

You assume too much in this case I think. I do not condemn America, but I do condemn some of our actions, some of the unsavory things are government does and all the actions it takes that are contrary to the ideals the founding fathers created this country on. The times may change, but the ideals should not.

I have actually considered not reading any more of your posts, just to keep from this very difficult struggle.

I'm sorry to hear that.

FYI, if I seam really touchy on this, please consider that yesterday a local boy (well, man) was killed in Iraq.

I'm sorry to hear that. One of my neighbors lost a grandson over there and it's been very hard on him so I do understand.

I have one son still there, and one son at Walter Reed Hospital still, and I am a Viet Nam era vet, and I trust that you mean well, but if our nation is so evil (as you declare) then it is not worth fighting for, and right this minute I just can't bear that thought, can you understand that?

I pray your son still over there comes home safely and quickly. I will not however be silent and pretend I support the War in Iraq or consider it a just action when I know it's not. I support our troops 100% but I do not support the war they fight for. The last 4 wars this country has fought in have never been properly declared, are/were disingenuous actions and are contrary to the ideals of the founding fathers of this country.

Sorry but I do not compromise my morals or ideals because it makes someone feel uncomfortable. Just like my rights, they are non-negotiable.

Try posting this same garbage in France about France, and you might learn that they have laws against this, that the freedom you so quickly trash here protects you with, and allows everyones opinion, even yours.

My sons believe that they are serving in our military to keep America safe, and I personally have had about enough of your condemning America.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

If you are going to rant on about France, at least learn something about the place first, you are as free to say what you like about the the French state as you are about the USA. If you have really "had enough" of Steff's arguments either put up a coherent counter-argument, or ignore him.

And you totally missed my point.

In 1886 there was no Securities & Exchange Commission, no Food and Drug Administration, no Interstate Commerce Commission, no Federal Trade Commission, no federal regulatory agencies of any kind. In 2003 every conceivable thing in America is regulated in some way by some level of government.

Here's an example. In 1886, people grew their own food or bought food fresh from market. In 2003, most of us buy from grocerys stores, and buying food fresh on a daiy basis is a bit hard. In 1886, they didn't have the whole mass slaughterhouses that give us our meat. Do you know what problems developed when food production and selling shifted from small-scale to large scale? Read The Jungle by Uptain Sinclair if you don't know. You want to go back to no FDA? You can gripe about the FDA problem all day, but, really, they have kept our food a lot cleaner than it would be without the regulations they have set.

In 1886 there were no crimes against the state

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
