Eventually...Still Seeking God we know which gifts we have been given...He will let us know...Patience having her perfect work...and: Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from The Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning (I heard a teaching one time-no darkness in it) James 1:17

And we will know when we are ready-always praying...He builds up our confidence...He is patient and kind...Remember He is Love...He is opening our eyes now...and we see...Oh me...

At some time or another...I have walked in almost all of the gifts...I know it's hard in the beginning...a human walking in the Spirit...but He won't leave us or forsake us...

He sees the desire of your heart, Hall7...and He Is So Good...

Love In Him, Kathy

That truly is my wish and I'm sure every Christian's wish, to eventually be able to do everything Jesus did...to walk in the Spirit of God at all times. It isn't easy when you're human but must be possible. God bless you Kathy...

We can, and should, pray for healing for others but only God Himself can bring it about. Don't blame yourself if God decides to follow His own path; He is God, after all. :mgbowtie:

It seems like the hard part (or at least for me is), to be able to pray for someone anytime anywhere whether it be in public or in private. I think I have a lot of growing to do. That little ordeal made me analyze myself. I have the right intentions in my heart but I need to learn how to carry them out with faith.

Should everyone as a Christian be able to heal someone by prayer who needs healing or is it a gift reserved for certain individuals? The reason why I'm asking is because I feel like I was tested the other day. I was in a shopping center and there was a person laying on the floor surrounded by 3 people trying to help. She was conscious but hyperventilating and didn't want anyone to call an ambulance for her. My first impression was that she'll be ok because there already are 3 ppl watching over her. Then, I felt like I should do something, I thought that I should be able to pray for her so that she could be healed, but deep inside I felt that my faith wasn't strong enough to do that in public. I'm not sure if it was my faith or if it was my shyness of not being able to do things in public. A quick thought came across my mind like "what if my prayer doesn't work"... I basically was making excuses to myself because I had never done anything like that in public. So I walked away and felt a great amount of guilt. I realized that it was something I had to improve in my life. But...the interesting thing is that about 15 min later I was tested a second time. I walked outside and a person in need came up to me. It was a person around his 60's, he was deaf and handed me a written note asking for money to be able to buy food. I usually give something if I see that the person isn't an alcoholic or a drug addict. It was hard to tell if he was putting on an act or not about his condition, when he handed me the note he pointed above trying to show me that God was watching. But I didn't give anything right away because I was skeptical so he walked away... I was observing him walking away to see if he was putting on an act, and a little voice in my head was telling me "this is strike two Eric". So all of a sudden it dawned on me that it was meant to be able to redeem myself from not helping the first person, God knew I was feeling very bad about myself and gave me a second chance to take some guilt off of me... So I ran up to him and gave him something with all my heart with love from God, he looked at what I gave him and started to cheer, he touched my face and pointed above again signaling that God was watching. I felt touched... Maybe he was an angel... I felt great after that but later on still questioned my faith about healing others... I find it interesting that the second test was a man "with" a condition who's need of quenching his hunger was more important than the healing of his ears in the moment.

You could have silently prayed over this person. You are not going to heal this person.Only God can do that. You can pray till the cows come home and if it is not God's Will for that person to recover they will not.Remember that God has a plan for each and every person. We all have a time designated for us to live and to die by God.If a voice is haunting you it is not God it is satan to try and weaken your Faith. It is was the person's choice for 911 not to be called you can not force that on a person.

I usually do not give to those who are soliciting for money.I too had an experience of someone who I thought was genuine and in need of money for food and I was terribly disappointed.Their are many places for those people to go for help if they need their basic needs of food, housing and clothing if they truly want it.Although these agencies who help these people are not going to give them cash to get their alcohol or drugs.

hall7. as a babe in CHRIST I used to wrestle with these issues myself......as I grew I began to understand that to pray for a person in public, it doesn't need to be a big production.. I can stand and silently pray for the individual..after all thers nothing that I can do as far as suppling the Miracle it's self only GOD can do that,,all I need to do is invite GOD into the middle of the situation and ask.......also remember Hall7..yes there are 9 gift's..some are given a specific gift for a good reason.....for some the gift given is only for the moment as the situation is called for.....There GODS to give and use as HE and HE alone pleases..nd never ever lose site of the fact that of the 9 gift's the greatest of these is LOVE......GBU

I think you're right, it might've been Satan giving me a guilt trip. Although praying for someone while in their presence is something I need to improve on... Practice makes perfect I guess :)

So true, Love is the greatest gift because without it we cannot accomplish anything in the Lord's name. God IS Love... Thank you for that :)

To pray for others is simply where God's love leads me. Paul talked about being compelled to preach the Gospel. I am compelled to pray. I am not eloquent or lengthy. I just pray about the needs I become aware of. Some people in cults become very angry if you pray for them, even in such a case. But most people are thankful.

All I can do is ask. It is God who heals, not me. It is not even my faith that heals. But I do have a loving and merciful Daddy who often does heal. I figure it can do no harm to bring the situation to His attention, even though He is well aware. He said we have not because we ask not.

Yes!

Mark 11:23
New Living Translation (NLT)

I tell you the truth, you can say to this mountain, ‘May you be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ and it will happen. But you must really believe it will happen and have no doubt in your heart.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
