Romans 12:1 Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.

I think this verse is an important verse in this conversation. The renewing of your mind is a transformation or change of thinking to agree with God's thoughts. There is only one way I know of to achieve this and that is by the training given by God, so that our mind is changed. Our previous view is altered to see and think of a situation as God sees and thinks.

Without going into examples and details, I'll just say this transformation does not happen all at once but takes item by item over many years. God, Who is the One who does the transformation thru experiences and the leading of the Holy Spirit, does not attempt to dump every erroneous thought on us all at once, but teaches one thing at a time. So, people are at differing levels, and dealing with differing things. Just about every Christian goes thru a time to learn patience, and in learning patience, goes thru a series of situations which cause us to react and fail to have patience. So simply, if we see a believer who has a 'hot temper', we can rest assured that at one time, compared to God, we were hot tempered or maybe we still are. When God works on the renewing of the mind, He knows the timing, and exactly what to do to achieve that in a person.

I know we are talking about homosexuality, those who still have urges and have chosen to rpractice celebacy, but I do believe that is also a renewing of the mind. Those who are looking on at others simply need a little patience, and allow God to work in His own time.

and allow God to work in His own time.

Amen...

This is like poetry to me....

Isa 55:8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the LORD.

Isa 55:9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.

Isa 55:10 "For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven and do not return there but water the earth, making it bring forth and sprout, giving seed to the sower and bread to the eater,

Isa 55:11 so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.

I agree there are many Christians that live in bondage, they are still slaves to repeating the same sins over and over never finding the freedom that is in Christ Jesus, I'm not talking about sins that do not lead to death, I am talking about sins that do (see 1 John 5:16)

What is that sin that leads to death, according to 1 John 5:16?

I am not adding anything, I'm pointing out that what you believe you corrected me on was incorrect

Yes you are adding  to what I said.  You assigned more to my comments than I intended.  I did not say that say that God's strength is only made perfect in infirmity weakness.  But that was a value that you asigned to me and you ran with it.   My intitial comment was to Gerioke not you. I was addressing a Scripture that Gerioke raised earlier and I was correcting him, not you. You were refuting an argument I did't raise.

you are absolutely right!......I went back and checked, I was answering your post to someone else, please accept my humble apology, I had mistakenly thought you were addressing my similiar post regarding the same bible verse.

I stand corrected!

Apology accepted  :emot-handshake:

I don't know why they are calling themselves gay Christians if they aren't having sex.  Does this mean they are still having gay sexual thoughts?  If that's the case, they may as well just be having sex, as we know lusting is much like committing and that we shouldn't dwell on evil thoughts.

I do commend them for abstaining, however, i think they should also try to be free of the evil thoughts and become heterosexual.

Why is there a need in any venue, especially Christian, for someone to proudly announce that they're gay? Is it to slap God in the face with what He has called an abomination? Could it be an effort to force people into recognizing the gay lifestyle as NORMAL? If so, that's NOT going to work. As far as I'm concerned - don't announce it - keep it to yourself because I don't even want to know about it. Keep the problem between you and God. Further, I don't care to know that you're celibate or not. That's also between you and God. Bottom line - that's nothing to be proud of, and I don't want to hear about it. Do you think that anyone is interested in me making announcements that I'm STRAIGHT?

NChrist, I'm getting the distinct impression that you are SICK of the whole gay thing.  I feel the same way; such a tiny fraction of the population seems to be hogging the stage.  I would like for these people to come to God.....but, yeah, like you I'm really tired of the whole agenda.  I sincerely pray that they can repent.

Correct! Why should anyone announce their celibacy? If they are single, that should be a foregone conclusion if they are born again.

Yes, you are correct. The whole gay agenda and indoctrination program has backfired with folks like me. In other words, I'm further from acceptance than ever. Yes, I definitely want them to come to God, and I pray for that every day. It would be accurate to say that I love them but I hate the sin.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
