Whatever day you celebrate as the Lord's Day you celebrate it unto the Lord for all days are the same to Him.

______________________________-

Let me throw a thought out to you.  As noble as that statement is, do you think the ancient Israelites could also celebrate each and every day with the Lord Yahweh? I think so.  After all, there was a morning and evening offering.  Yet....... in spite of that fact, they still were required to keep the weekly Sabbath nonetheless, and gather 3 times yearly for the feasts.

Again, I won't judge Christians as a whole how to keep the feasts, as certainly Yahweh does not expect sacrifice and ritual, all which were shadows of Christ.  Nevertheless, the days were still days to meet with the Lord, and today one can gain an immeasurable handle on prophecy if they know about these feasts, something I find the average Christian woefully ignorant on, and this is a disgrace to celebrate other holidays that were Christianized, and then not know those which the Lord put here for a reason. Can we at least celebrate with fellow Jews with a joyful heart and say a prayer on these days thanking the Lord for his Word?

Whatever day you celebrate as the Lord's Day or Sabbath you celebrate it unto Him for He created all days and they are equal in His sight it is only man who chooses to dictate days for worship today. I would think that the reason Sunday is chosen is because it is the day the Jesus rose from the dead victorious.

Let me shed just a little more light on that day.  Actually, by our time reckoning he arose late Saturday.  But even if we consider that as the start of another Jewish Day, the day you mentioned in question is called firstfruits, and was the "morrow after the Sabbath" during Passover week.  So, the OT already prophesied the resurrection in the feasts.  This does not, of course, justify keeping it weekly, but at the appointed time only.  This is man's invention to keep a weekly Sunday.

So you are right.  Man dictates what days to worship, and objectively speaking, I see that dictate as Sunday.  To claim the reason for that is the resurrection IMO is rationalization. If we want to stay biblical, I would stay with the Sabbath.

I celebrate Sabbath everyday by resting in the finished work Jesus did,He died for my sins so I may live forever,He is my resting place. :)

For clarification I believe that the Sabbath was made for the Jews. I believe Gentiles do not need to celebrate the Sabbath. I believe as others have said that our worship of God should be a daily practice.

rom 14:5 One person esteems one day as better than another, while another esteems all days alike. Each one should be fully convinced in his own mind.

I understand this to be an item of Christian freedom.

I agree. I think there's freedom in Christ to celebrate by gathering for worship whatever day people are lead. I have many friends who participate in churches that have services Friday, Saturday, Sunday - some even have services during the week.

In Acts we are given what part of the Jewish law we should follow...

19 “It is my judgment, therefore, that we should not make it difficult for the Gentiles who are turning to God. 20 Instead we should write to them, telling them to abstain from food polluted by idols, from sexual immorality, from the meat of strangled animals and from blood.

I see nothing about the Sabbath

---------

I think this is an excellent point JDavis

Acts 15:27-29 also speaks of this... The Apostles through the guidance of the Holy Spirit laid on Gentiles at the council of Jerusalem no greater burden than to abstain from things offered to idols, from blood, from things strangled, and from sexual immorality. :) Notice there is no mention of Sabbaths, festivals, or new moons. I wonder why that is? Would the Holy Spirit change this direction?

Acts 15:27-29

27 We have therefore sent Judas and Silas, who will also report the same things by word of mouth. 28 For it seemed good to the Holy Spirit, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things: 29 that you abstain from things offered to idols, from blood, from things strangled, and from sexual immorality. If you keep yourselves from these, you will do well.

God bless,

GE

You decide.

Romans 13

Owe no one anything except to love one another, for he who loves another has fulfilled the law.

For the commandments,

“You shall not commit adultery,”

“You shall not murder,”

“You shall not steal,”

“You shall not bear false witness,”

“You shall not covet,”

and if there is any other commandment, are all summed up in this saying, namely, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”

10 Love does no harm to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.

Good passage and reminder brother.

No.

<snip>

the Sabbath can no longer be kept as it was biblically mandated.

anything less than the standard God set forth concerning a Holy Day should be considered sacrilege.

i have personally dealt with this and ministered to others about it as well.

Jesus Christ is the Lord of the Sabbath and our rest is now in Him, daily.

there is no longer Jew nor Gentile in Christ Jesus.

we should keep in mind that certain brethren claim that keeping the Sabbath is not a burden, and they do so out of love for God.  i have no problems with this view, although i do pray for them.

the issues arise when someone declares condemnation and professes that it is enforceable by the scriptures, when this is simply not true.  i pray for them too, but they must be rebuked.

Yes! This in bold! It is for freedom that Christ set us free. I think sometimes people confuse personal convictions with Biblical truth.

God bless,

GE

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
