Matthew 24:42 Watch therefore, for you do not know what hour your Lord is coming. 43 But know this, that if the master of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched and not allowed his house to be broken into. 44 Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.

Revelation 3:2 Awake, and strengthen what remains and is on the point of death, for I have not found your works perfect in the sight of my God. 3 Remember then what you received and heard; keep that, and repent. If you will not awake, I will come like a thief, and you will not know at what hour I will come upon you.

Revelation 16:15 "Behold, I am coming as a thief. Blessed is he who watches, and keeps his garments, lest he walk naked and they see his shame."

1 Thessalonians 5:1 But as to the times and the seasons, brethren, you have no need to have anything written to you. 2 For you yourselves know well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. 3 When people say, "There is peace and security," then sudden destruction will come upon them as travail comes upon a woman with child, and there will be no escape. 4 But you are not in darkness, brethren, for that day to surprise you like a thief. 5 For you are all sons of light and sons of the day; we are not of the night or of darkness.

When I was a young believer, I wasnt sure what it meant to be ready. Perhaps a discussion here might be good for those who were like me.

How are we supposed to be ready? What are we supposed to be doing? What does it mean to be ready?

We are ready by being right with Jesus. Being in the faith. Believing and following the Word Of God in our conscience. Its simple you are either a true Christian and therefore ready or you're something else.

It means to be listening and believing what He says, to the point of obeying, even when it doesn't make sense. As Christians, just like with the disciples, we are told the Truth of the matter, of the current day. Remember this dialogue:

Luke 12:

37 Blessed are those servants whom the master, when he comes, will find watching. Assuredly, I say to you that he will gird himself and have them sit down to eat, and will come and serve them. 38 And if he should come in the second watch, or come in the third watch, and find them so, blessed are those servants. 39 But know this, that if the master of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched and F96 not allowed his house to be broken into. 40 Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect."

For everyone to whom much is given, from him much will be required; and to whom much has been committed, of him they will ask the more. 49 "I came to send fire on the earth, and how I wish it were already kindled! 50 But I have a baptism to be baptized with, and how distressed I am till it is accomplished! 51 Do you suppose that I came to give peace on earth? I tell you, not at all, but rather division.

Luke 12:1.......He began to say to His disciples first of all, "Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy

We'd better take notice of who we really are? Are we hypocrites? Or, are we really listening and following Christ? If we're following Christ, then we are doing what is commanded of us.

Honestly I am ready, I am tired of this constant pain this handycap life and want to Be with the Lord in Heaven............

Part of being ready is being a "peacemaker" and mastering mercy and forgiveness.

Jesus is so very clear that IF you desire to be forgiven, you MUST forgive others..no exception.

I truly believe that the heart of our faith is mercy and grace, and that we extend such things to one another.

In Matthew 24, we're warned that in "those days" many will hate and betray one another.

We must be careful to avoid this trap and not to fall subject to it...rather to love each other DEEPLY and forgive one another our transgressions.

I am ready, not only for Jesus to return, but ready daily to lead others to Christ for salvation. Live in a state of readiness, but be found on that day doing the Father's business, bringing souls into the Kingdom. Even so, Come Lord Jesus, your bride has made herself ready. All Glory to God.
