I know a woman who was entertaining some guests for Thanksgiving dinner. She was a new mother. When she was mashing the potatoes she remembered that she forgot the milk for the mashed pototoes. She whipped out her breast and squirted a little milk in the potatoes. She said that no one would know the difference.

Perhaps you need to be aware that women have weaknesses just like men.

While you may look down on a mother who has to deal with the hassles of breastfeeding, demanding she put strangers above her baby -

someone like me who's been visually violated on account of pornography is very sensitive to words such as these.

Why do you do this? You did this in the "bully" thread, now here.  Where did I mention or even hint that I looked down on breastfeeding mothers?

And what did I say that was so insensitive?

Regarding what people who are not saved seeing breasts as mammary glands that give life and nurturing to a child... It's about sex...

Rom. 12:2

Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.

Did God create the breast for breastfeeding?

Or do we allow culture do define what we think of the breast and breasfeeding?

Food for thought.

God bless,

GE

2000 years ago women didn't have a choice but to breast feed. Today women do have a choice. So to intentionally expose her breasts in public, even to breastfeed, I think gives a bad witness, Because they are viewed first and foremost as sex objects. Yes, God created them for breastfeeding babies. But we live in a fallen world. The reality is that they are seen as a sex object, and the women who exposes them without covering up is just wanting attention. That is the way most unsaved people view it. No, this is not the way God designed it. But I knew someone years ago before I was saved, who went up to a women who was breastfeeding a baby and asked if he could be next. The unsaved mind is depraved. We are called to be lights, a witness of all that is holy and pure. This puts up a stumbling block for a lot of people.

Honestly, I realize what you're saying. But to me this seems like this dehumanizes mothers regarding having a choice and being sex objects. Have you been around a hungry baby? A hungry baby's need cannot be postponed.

As far as this in bold to a women who doesn't use a cover just wanting attention... This is a false misconception.

I would say most mothers (say 95 to 99%) do not purposefully try to cause other people distress or discomfort. And might I add that I know a lot of mothers who breastfeed?

Many women don’t use covers or dislike using covers for practical reasons having to do with their children – the babies. Because their babies needs come first. Baby’s when using covers often get hot and squirmy. The baby often cannot see with a cover to latch on to begin the breastfeeding process. The baby also might want to see their mother or what is going on around them. Finally, breathing in tight spaces isn’t comfortable for anyone much less babies.

Why can't we give nursing mothers a break? :noidea:

God bless,

GE

When you give short, pert comments as you do, it comes across as being judgmental.

In your responses, have you expressed sympathy for what a woman has to go through in feeding her baby?

The article I posted previously is not the only instance where mothers held breast-feeding sit-ins to protect another woman who was subjugated to management coming against her breastfeeding.

Have you considered what women have to go through? Have you expressed such?

On a medical side too, body fluids are considered hazardous and treated as such. Breast milk is considered body fluids and hazardous. Not "not permitted on airplanes" hazardous lol. Folks should not have to be exposed to breast feeding in public. Its not what I want to see.

I believe the CDC (Center Disease Control) doesn't consider breast milk body fluids. Is this true? Regarding it being body fluids are you comparing breast milk to defecation, urination, or sex? Curious. :noidea:

Is milk considered a food? Or is it considered waste or biohazard? Is breast milk potentially dangerous and should be disposed of carefully for safety reasons?

God bless,

GE

CDC guidelines does say that folks exposed to breastmilk should use latex gloves and universal precautions.

Issues not addressed...

A. Are you seriously comparing breastfeeding with defecation, urination, and sex?

B. Does CDC consider breast milk body fluids?

C. Is breast milk considered waste or bio hazard? Or is it considered food?

I'm genuinely interested.

God bless,

GE

I understand what your saying. I really do. But breasts are seen as sex objects by most in this world, period. Is that fair? No. But it is the reality of the world we live in. Because of how sexualized the world is, then sadly it's not likely to change either. it would take no more time to cover up or go somewhere private , then it would to go get the food, or bottle. make it, or get it to room temp. then feed the baby. I just don't think a Christian woman should have her breasts out for all to see, breastfeeding or not. If there is no problem with that, then why not just let women walk around topless. men take off there shirt all the time, when they get to hot. So why shouldn't women be allowed to walk around topless? After all, if her breasts are not sex objects, but breastfeeding. then what is the difference between a man and woman exposing there breasts, breastfeeding or not?

The hazardous body fluids part was not addressed. HIV can be found in breast milk. When I see someone nursing, I find it as repulsive as if I found a used condom. Because I know what can be in that.

I do not find it repulsive. It is a natural function of a mother nourishing her baby.I am not afraid of he HIV aspect of the breast milk because I am not planning on going over to the lady and taking a sip :biggrin2:

Lol. Good point Bo.

You know, if I didn't care, I would say "go ahead, it's your right, don't let anyone tell you your business".

But I do care. I spent the majority of my life in the world. I know what's out there. I participated in much of it. When I say that certain things exist in this world, I'm not going by what someone told me, I'm going by what I lived.

When I give my opinion that a woman should cover herself when breastfeeding, it's not because I think it's this or that, it's for her own protection and that of the child.

The world is an ugly, ugly place and there are a lot of very bad people that prey on the innocent. Just because someone isn't getting physically violated, doesn't mean they aren't getting violated.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
