Who Created Evil?

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)
I am saved from the penalty of my sins and reconciled with God. I have more peace in my life. I am becoming a better person through the changes He makes in me. Life before I had the Lord was bleak, empty.

Can you expand on that? What, barring talking out loud to an empty room, has changed? Do colours seem brighter? Does food taste better? Or is it just that you can cope better because you think you'll get a reward for your suffering?

The Catholics promoted that as part of their doctrine. You should ask a catholic. There are many differences between catholics and born again Christians. The Lord does not change.

Im not clear on how the catholics view this. I believe that they view the eucharist as changing to His blood and body, but Im not sure. Born agains view it as just bread and wine, taken as part of an observance to the Lord. It holds meaning to us, but is not the least bit canabalistic. At no time does it become body or blood to us.

You might eat a cookie shaped like a person. That doesnt promote canabalism either, even though it represents a person.

Right then. If it's from a different religion I'll leave it be.

The bible is the inerrant word of God. God breathed scripture. His Holy Spirit inspired the writers. The bible was faithfully copied, preserved. You can see old copies nearly 2000 yrs old that have not changed the text between then and now.

What do you claim is wrong in it?

Was it the King James bible that says "Thou shalt commit adultery"?

He has provided proof all around you. Some people refuse to see it.

Ah, the infamous cop-out answer. This, "God moves in mysterious ways", and "Suffer little children" are the immediate answers of questions you can't explain.

Just what exactly are we meant to look for? The intricate patterns in snowflakes? The shapes into which trees grow? The ebb and flow of the ocean? All can be explained by science.

If God is Omnipotent, why does he need believers? Is he just very insecure?

The Lord doesnt need us, but He loves us, wants us. Praise Him.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Then he should try harder to secure my worship.

==========

1: Just trying to provide an opposing viewpoint. It's no good having a debate when both parties want the same thing.

2: I have no hate or malice against Jesus in person, even if there was such a person. It's his organisation I find redundant. Or rather, its methods.

3: And so because I expand on your metaphor it suddenly makes no sense?

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

OK, so you hate Christianity.

Why? Who did what to you?

P.S. Your expansion had nothing to do with the point being made.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

I don't hate Christianity, I hate all Religion. I can see how it might be a good thing, but it's not being used effectively.

This is why we invented science: It's a unified purpose that the entire world can work to. Religion is not, and will not be until only one race of people exist. And you won't get that without genocide.

No - that is not why science was developed.

I majored in science in college and have interracted on a science message board.

Science is about knowing the physical world, how it works, what it's made of, how we can (physically) improve our lives.

People may try to use science to achieve world peace, but that is not why people pursue science, that is not why scientists of the past performed their research nor searched for new discoveries.

It's all about knowledge (of the physical world) for the sake of knowledge.

You ae sadly mistaken.

did God really create evil?

Evil is...intentions and intentional acts (both being 'acts' or 'personally directed events' and not 'things') of intelligent agents, that violate the God-derived principles of love, fairness, or loyalty.

Acts and events are not made - they are done. God made and created 'things' and 'agents', not their 'acts' or 'events'...He 'did' His own 'acts' (of course), but other agents 'do' their own 'acts'. So God did not 'make evil'

I dont see how you equate Christianity with genocide. Jesus died for all of mankind, not a selected race. I know many people of many races who are solid born agains. I dont view them by color at all.

Galatians 3: 26You are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus, 27for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. 28There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. 29If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.

I have a peace in my life not possible without being born again. I have growth that was not possible without being born again. I can cope better because He is with me in all things, and I see His hand changing my world. I see when He interacts and removes obstacles. I dont even think about rewards in heaven. The Lord is with me in the here and now. That relationship is special. When I pray, I dont pray to an empty room. I talk to a real living God. And that God answers me in ways I can hear Him.

Some people rejected Jesus even though they saw Him. The responsibility is on you to look for God, to search for Him with all your heart mind and soul.

I was wondering if God did creat evil. The reason why is i heard that if God created evil than he is not both good and holy, but i know that God is good and holy; so did God really creat evil?

Ryan Carr

The result of sin is death. Evil came about as a result of mans (and satans rebelion) I believe it was a punnishment from God.

Wrong no-one can get better psalm 14v1 says there is non that doeth good. The only thing we become is dead to sin. Each step with christ we die and we no when we die because dieng hurts.

What makes you think that there was, or is, no such person as Jesus?

I've read this several times now and still don't get it. Did you mean repugnant when you typed redundant?

Loop, I see know effort on your part to discuss anything, only a need to hurl insults and sarcasm so far. Do you just troll from one christian site to another or are you here for a reason?

God, I thank you for the many wonders you have worked in my life. I know that you are the God of miracles. Lord I just ask you to provide Loop with what he seeks. Reveal Yourself to him. Knock on the door to his heart in a way that he will hear you. I ask this in the name of Christ Jesus, Amen.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
