I believe that Jesus was crucified for our sins, however, to me there is an underlying, ever present uncertainty.

If we look at our world today - We see murders, thefts, kidnappings - And much more.

This is NOT what Jesus died for, if anything we are worse that the savage Romans who killed our Lord.

Why can we not work together to correct this mess of a planet we've created?

That is what I ask.

Gods speed,

The Crucifixion of Jesus Christ was to pay the ultimate price for sin...eternity in Hell. True, even the saved in this age still suffer pain and need to toil for food. But the saved in Christ never need to fear the Second Death (Hell). It is only with the return of Jesus Christ that we will fully experience the joys of His Kingdom as He intended. It is then that we will no longer suffer and die. We will not know sorrow or fear.

Joh 3:16-19  For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.  (17)  For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.  (18)  He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.  (19)  And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

Luke 16:23 And in hell he lifted up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.

Our pastor used this verse, and others that I can't recall at the moment, to explain where old testament saints went when they died. He explained that hell had 2 compartments, one was torment and the other was paradise. The OT saints went to paradise and waited there until Jesus died on the cross at which time He, Jesus, went to paradise and removed the OT saints taking them to heaven.

I'm not sure I got it all in the exact order; I sure someone here will correct me.

But none of that has changed. We are still sinners and full of sin and the curse is still upon humanity.

But it has changed.

Believers are no longer condemned of sin because they are forgiven,

and we are also granted eternal life beyond this cursed and fallen world.

Blessings.

Jesus will come back and set up His kingdom in Israel. He will rule and reign for 1000 years, but it will be with a rod of iron, forcing people to obey Him. This is the Christ the Jews were looking for and why they did not recognize Him when He came first as the Suffering Servent. But He will come again as the Lion of Judah in fierce strength to avenge those who have suffered and died for worshipping and serving Him.

In His next reign Jesus shall repress the evil we all hate and Satan will be bound so he won't be able to influence the earth as he does now. But people still have a sinful nature so the world still won't be perfect--just not as evil till the 1000 years is up.

Hello, I had some questions about the crucifixion of Jesus. I have asked this question before and have received multiple answers and none of them seemed to make since to me.

I understand the concept that Jesus died on the cross to forgive us of sin. As I have been told the sacrifice of Jesus lifted original sin from mankind. Original sin as I take is from the fall of Adam. The curse of painful child birth and having to work the field for food ect. But none of that has changed. We are still sinners and full of sin and the curse is still upon humanity.

Romans 8:18-25

"For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.  For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.  For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope, Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.  For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.  And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.  For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for?  But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it."

When Adam sinned, "the creature was made subject to vanity" or everything that had been placed under his authority fell with him.  Paul likened all of creation to a woman in travail who is waiting to be delivered...from the bondage of corruption and into the glorious liberty of the children of God.  Even born again Christians or those who "have the firstfruits of the Spirit" groan within themselves, waiting for the redemption of their bodies or for their glorified bodies which they will one day receive at the second coming of Christ.  Just earlier in this same chapter, Paul wrote:

Romans 8:10-11

"And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.  But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you."

Even though Christians have Christ in them, their "bodies are dead because of sin" or their bodies are still subject to physical death which was part of the curse attached to Adam's fall.  However, since Christians are indwelt by "the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead", we, too, have a promise that our mortal bodies will one day be "quickened" or made alive (resurrected) by the same Spirit.  IOW, again, we're still waiting for the redemption of our mortal bodies, even though we've already received "the firstfruits of the Spirit".

Also I have been told that no one could get into heaven before Jesus died. Some say Noah, Moses, Abraham and company did not go to heaven because they were pre Jesus and therefore unable to accept Jesus as their salvation. A few claim that the above mentioned did go to heaven. If that is the case and people were able to go to heaven before Christ, why the need for a sacrifice?

I have other questions about the sacrifice made by Jesus but this is the root of it. Just hoping for some clarity and who better to ask?

Thank you!

Revelation 13:8

"And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world."

Again:

I Peter 1:18-21

"Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot: Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you, Who by him do believe in God, that raised him up from the dead, and gave him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God."

Jesus Christ is "the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world" and/or "a lamb without blemish and without spot Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world".  IOW, before the world was even formed, it had been determined that Christ was going to come into this world to die for the sins of fallen mankind.  Until the actual date of Christ's crucifixion, however, which occurred somewhere around 2,000 years ago, the same was foreshadowed and foretold of repeatedly and, as another poster already mentioned, the Old Testament saints looked forward to the same by faith and their faith in Christ's coming sacrifice on their behalves was accounted to them as righteousness.  IOW, the punishment which they deserved for their own sins was transferred, by faith, unto Christ on the cross.  Did any Old Testament saints ascend to heaven bodily?  According to Jesus, no, they did not.  During His Incarnation, Jesus said:

John 3:13

"And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven."

While on earth, Jesus said that no man had yet ascended up to heaven and I'll stick with His testimony despite the fact that many Christians believe that both Enoch and Elijah ascended to heaven prior to Christ's Incarnation (they didn't).  Where, then, did the righteous dead go upon death, prior to Christ's crucifixion, resurrection and ascension from the dead?  Personally, I agree with the other poster who mentioned the two different compartments of "hades" which apparently existed prior to Christ's resurrection from the dead.  You can read of the account yourself in Luke 16:19-31.

I hope that this helps you in your quest for truth.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
