Bush supports cross-hating movement

The new rule about pulling the plug on conspiracy theories came about because it was shown to be hurting posters who are in the military. The goal here is for edification not destruction, and it became clear that these conspiracy theories being allowed were resulting in destruction.

As for the cross-tossing, I'd like to see more of what is behind that - the article wasn't very clear on intent. For instance, I heard a testimony from someone ministering in one of the war-torn former Soviet Union block countries, one in which ethnic and religious groups were fighting each other. The group who called themselves Christians and wore crosses acted in ways that were anything but Christian, and so the non-Christians are afraid of the cross, for they equate it with the evil that was done to them. The true Christians ministering there have had to throw out their crosses and pick a new symbol (I forget what it was), one that expressed the love of Christ and that set them apart from "the cross-bearers."

The use of the cymbol of the cross began with Constantine where he was shown in a vision to use the cross in battle. I am familiar with some Christians who have chosen to do away with the cross for this reason. They question this as having been a vision from the Lord.

As for Bush supporting this group, it was also unclear in the article as to why the President supported them or what he honored them for. It does not say he supported them for their "cross-tossing" specifically.

One thing to keep in mind, it is possible for a person to be a genuine Christian yet live in deception. For example, I used to believe the "name it and claim it" doctrine like most charasmatics do. I have now learned otherwise. The point is, Pres. Bush may have some screwed up notion about other religions not being false religions yet still be saved. Not everyone who makes it to Heaven will be carrying "gold, silver, and precious stones;" some will be carrying "wood, hay, and stubble." The latter will be burned away; the person will still be saved, "but as one who escapes from the fire."

It is wise to keep such in mind as we speak of others' spiritual status.

I explained it here, but probably messed it all up:

Most, if not all, of the pulled threads are pulled because the members here start tearing each other apart- not ones that simply disagree with Bush.

When the body starts bashing each other, that's where threads become useless for edification.

I'll try to clear up what I meant by "baiting";

Ok, usually, when someone starts threads off with "I'll be surprised if this thread stays up" or "The mods will probably kill this one" or "I dare you to keep this one up" or "I know this one will get pulled" or statements like that, they are looking for it to get pulled so they can have a reason to post a few "abuse of power" threads aimed at the mods here.

Brother, this is not a Bush site, it's a site for believers to discuss things Spiritual or otherwise. If someone wants to post things about Bush, so be it. So far as I can tell, they only get pulled when people start arguing and fighting and calling each other names. Under those circumstances, I think they should get pulled.

If I misread the intention of you posting anticipatory remarks concerning the death of this thread, than I apologize. It just seems like it's like a testing of the waters for which there was no need.

If the allegations in the OP are correct, then the truth will be known. If they are false, or other wise twisted to sell a story, it will kill itself quickly.

Although I might have missed your point by just now remembering the newest rule in the TOS concerning "conspiracy theories".

How 'bout telling us just about how much you love the Lord and praising Him for all He's done for us and just lifting our leaders up to Him that He might guide and direct them?

Funny, I just saw an interview with George Bush tonight where he said he was reading "My Utmost for His Highest" and talking about how he tries to "stay in the Word" regularly. NATIONAL television.

Why hate? It's very telling. JMO though.

Threads that promote hate or "attack" the adminstration or conjure up conspiracy theories get shut down. I haven't read your thread in its entirety so I cannot comment other than to say you have a right to state your reservations and concerns with any adminstration. Regardless, if it exceeds those basic limits that I mentioned, it will be closed.

Soulwinner, it is always OK to question authority BUT what matters is how we do it. As followers of Jesus Christ, we are reminded that we are the salt of the earth and that we are not to lose our saltiness. [Mat 5:13]
