Hmm which debate should we go to bed angry over, the original topic of OSAS or not, or whether your a heretic for liking one translation over another . . .don't you all know Jude chapter 2 says the ESV is to be held in higher regard then all other due to the facts its just plain aweseome and all scoffers should just eat peanut butter endlessly until they see the error of their ways.

I made grilled cheese for the first time the other day. It was so good, I'm thinking of adding virginia ham to it maybe some pickle.

I don't recall anyone calling anyone else a heretic over translations, Pat.

What are your thoughts on Heb 3:7-19. How can a born again christian not believe a God exist anymore..

Warning Against Unbelief

7So, as the Holy Spirit says:

“Today, if you hear his voice,

8do not harden your hearts

as you did in the rebellion,

during the time of testing in the wilderness,

9where your ancestors tested and tried me,

though for forty years they saw what I did.

10That is why I was angry with that generation;

I said, ‘Their hearts are always going astray,

and they have not known my ways.’

11So I declared on oath in my anger,

‘They shall never enter my rest.’ ”

12See to it, brothers and sisters, that none of you has a sinful, unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God. 13But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called “Today,” so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness. 14We have come to share in Christ, if indeed we hold our original conviction firmly to the very end. 15As has just been said:

“Today, if you hear his voice,

do not harden your hearts

as you did in the rebellion.”

16Who were they who heard and rebelled? Were they not all those Moses led out of Egypt? 17And with whom was he angry for forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose bodies perished in the wilderness? 18And to whom did God swear that they would never enter his rest if not to those who disobeyed? 19So we see that they were not able to enter, because of their unbelief.

You missed the point of the post. It was my humorous way of suggesting that maybe we should calm down. Neither topic is a salvation issue and I'd hate to see it turn into a knock out draggout.

Dscapp, when the word says converteth, that only means because at the time, the person is lost.  It can easily be because they have fallen from grace because of their sins, which is what I believe it is saying.

I do agree with The Patriot, that it is not essential we agree on this topic to be saved.  It is not worth getting all upset over.

So I dont think someone who is born again ceases to believe in God but that they choose to love thier sin more than love God.

I agree with this statement here.

can you explain to me what yoir thoughts are on romans 11:21-23...

For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest He also spare not thee.

behold therefore the goodness and severity of God; on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in His goodness, if thou continue in His goodness: otherwise thou shall also be cut off.

and they also, if they abide not still in unbelief, shall be graffed in: for God is able to graff them in again.

This is not speaking of a individual born again christian as a single person . This is referring to the sins of the church state of the Jewish remnant.

just incase you dont know what graff means, today we call it grafting. I have a fair amount of knowledge with plants and soil and what I know about grafting is the practise is done a lot with fruit trees, in the passage its speaking of olive trees. First off you need a sharp knife to do this. Three layers to be concerned with. The wood, the cambian, and the bark. If those layers dont line up good from the rootstock wood to the shoot one is trying to graft in, it wont grow and produce fruit. You can graft in limbs from any tree of its kind, like say citrus. You got a grapefruit tree rooted in the ground, you should be able to graft in new growth shoots from oranges, lemons, limes, etc. And adventually produce different fruits on one tree. This practice is heavily used in agriculture today because some rootstocks are not suitable to soil types/ disease resistance in all regions and so many fruits cannot be grown in certian areas without grafting. Some fruits are more desirable and bring more money at the supermarkets. After you cut a knotch in the rootstock and fit the cutting in, you either wrap it with a certian tape or put wax on it to keep disease out and promote it to "heal" it takes a little practice to master this and I do recommend a carbon steel blade opposed to stainless. Stainless is to soft and looses its edge to quick.

"and they also, if they abide not still in unbelief, shall be graffed in: for God is able to graff them in again."

God is using grafting as a metaphor. Grafted here simply means that God will mend their relationship with him (by mercy and forgiveness). Many Jews refused to believe God. Those people lost their opportunity to have a right relationship with God. They were like the branches that the gardener removes from the tree. But many Gentiles believed God. And they were able to have a real relationship with God. They would be like the new branches, which would receive strength from the root. Jesus used a similar description in John chapter 15.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
