What is the purpose of the judgement in Revelation 20?

Are you saying that the new Jerusalem will exist during the 1000 years  ? thanks 

 

 

Yes, but not in full. During the 1,000 years it is referred to as the city in Rev.22:14 and "camp of the saints" in Rev.20. It will include the Ezekiel sanctuary of Ezekiel 40 forward. But after the 1,000 years, there will be no more temple like Revelation says. In Ezekiel 47, the River of the waters of life and tree of life is manifested with the Ezekiel temple. In Rev.22:14-15, Christ's elect are inside the gates of the city with right to the tree of life, while the wicked are outside it.

 

This means during... the 1,000 years, God's River and the Tree of Life will be... back on earth with the holy city, and with a temple (Ezekiel's temple). That is where Christ with His faithful saints will reign from, on earth.

 

The new Jerusalem only comes after the new earth has been created 

 

The meaning of for without are dogs etc is not saying that these people are literally outside of the physical city but will not get eternal life 

 

The earth is curse and only when created new then the new city comes down 

 

the saints will be in old Jeusalem read Is Isa 4 and 

 

Isaiah 24:23King James Version (KJV)

 

23 Then the moon shall be confounded, and the sun ashamed, when the Lord of hosts shall reign in mount Zion, and in Jerusalem, and before his ancients gloriously.

 

This is the camp of the saints on the old earth not the new 

 

 

So that city with Ezekiel's temple, God's River flowing out the sanctuary, and the tree of life manifested on each side of that River have nothing to do with the New Jerusalem???

 

Rev.21-22 does not give a clear separation of times, simply because the Rev.22:14-15 Scripture DOES show the wicked outside the gates of the holy city in that time...

¹⁴ Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.

¹⁵ For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.

 

What you seem to not understand is that above Scripture is Millennium timing, it goes with the events of Rev.20 during Christ's 1,000 years reign. Those are the "nations" in that chapter outside the "camp of the saints". That city is... the "camp of the saints", the Ezekiel 40 forward layout with a Millennium sanctuary, God's River, and the tree of life, on earth.

 

That's the Scripture, take it or leave it, but don't tell me I don't know what I'm talking about just because the actual Scripture goes against some doctrine of men you've heeded instead.

 

When you folks learn to open up the Old Testament Books in study as much as you rely on the New Testament Books, and learn, instead of listening to the many preachers out there that haven't done that OT study either, then I might be willing to help with these kind of matters. But for now, I am done.

 

Where will satan be for the 1000 yrs ? Where will the bottomless pit be ?

Revelation 20 to 22 gives a clear seperation of time 

 

Reve 21-22 has no more wicked existing

 

 5 For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie. all this is saying that these kind of people will never enter the city not that they exist at the time in the new with God the Father here on earth

For there are many good hearted gentiles of all kinds of believe systems. 

They will not be just cast into the fire,They will be judged according to their hearts.

It has nothing to do with their hearts or how many good things they did it has everything to do with what they did with Jesus. I know too many " good" people who cannot accept that Jesus would cast anyone into hell or outer darkness.

The only ones judged at that time are those who were not taken in the rapture and those who lived during the 1000 yr. reign. Those taken in the rapture are awarded crowns for their deeds done for Jesus.

This judgment concerns those who never heard the good news of Christ but lived according to the revelation of God given them as per the wondrous universe, nature etc. They know that there is a creator & thus they try to live according to the `right & wrong,` understanding in their hearts by God. Thus their `works,` will show how they put that into practice.

Did the old testement saints knew God had a Son ?

My point had nothing to do with either of these.

 

Why judge people according to their works when only believers are saved?

Why judge any non-believer when the verdict (damnation) has already been passed?

Why judge any believer when we are cleansed of all our sins by the blood of Christ?

 

So why are people being judged according to their works? This sounds to me as if non-believers are being given a chance at salvation, but that clearly conflicts with the rest of scripture that says that only those who believe in Christ are saved.

 

 

What I laid out there is what you're talking about. Sorry it seemed too technical.

 

Without Christ the soul is left with being judged by their works, no remission of sins. That affects their placement in the 1,000 years, but it does not mean the verdict is passed yet, the jury is still out for those during the 1,000 years. The verdict isn't passed until the Great White Throne Judgment after the 1,000, and that's the point.

 

The reason for Christ's thousand years reign is like Apostle Paul showed in 1 Cor.15, that Christ MUST reign over all His enemies until they are made His footstool. It's to show them Who The GOD really is, because during this present world the majority of them were deceived, or blinded by God Himself (Rom.11). In other words, it shows that not all peoples have the same time to 'know' Christ The Saviour. During the 1,000 years none will have an excuse, so IF they decide to let Satan deceive them again at the end of 1,000 years when he is released, it will mean they made their choice to perish with him with their blinders fully removed, meaning full accountability.

 

With the deceived in the Church, the five foolish virgins He closes the door upon, what about them? I believe Jesus will save those of them that realize what they had done in falling away from Him to worship another in His place, because they were deceived. Lot of brethren are going to fall away especially in these last days, and worship the coming Antichrist thinking he is our Lord Jesus having come. They just won't know the difference, because their Church leaders haven't prepared them, and they relied on their Church leadership instead of directly on Christ in His Word to know (i.e., lacking the spare vessel of the Oil), so they are like blind sheep. Most of those I would say are ordained to that deception, God has blinded them, along with unbelieving Israel. But in the 1,000 years, they will 'know', and I'd like to think they all will repent and be saved.

Yes some did.

 

`He (God) said to Me, "Thou art My Son,....." `(Ps. 2: 7)

 

And the Psalms were often read in the Temple. However many people of Israel had difficulty with this as they believed in `One God,` meaning just `one,` not as we understand today as 3 persons in one - unity, harmony, & of one mind.

A non christian can have a good heart.

A christian can have a wicked heart

I was speaking of non christian gentiles with good hearts. All their deeds are on record.

A non christian dont have to believe in hell fire,cause they are not christian.

They still can be good hearted people. It is the churches that have given the bible a bad name.

This is why many will not touch the bible.

Why are they being judged according to their deeds? What is the purpose of this? I can't make sense of it.

This is the end of the new covenant age and the end of the world at the climax of the 70th week of Daniel's prophesy where Christ comes as the seventh angel and sounds the seventh trumpet declaring time no longer. The earthly realm will be dissolved never to rise again and this catalogues the end of the great harvest of God when Christ inhabited it in the middle of Daniel's 79th week, when he arose and opened the tombs of the old covenant saints who were waiting for him (Matthew 27:52-53). The two books opened are the book of life and the book of the condemned. Those that did not enter in through the first and only resurrection encompassing the new covenant age after their earthly bodies died, will be the category of then condemned who were serving in hell and waiting for final judgement. At this point death no longer continues because every human has died. So those souls serving in hell are annihilated in the lake of fire which is the second death.

At this point the wedding supper of the lamb of God is fully furnished with guests as his angelic white cloud he rides and the remaining condemned souls serving in hell cannot continue pat this point for they must be out out of their misery. Last this point hell and death cannot continue. Genesis one is virtually erased forever.
