Have you ever met someone for the first time and get the feeling you have known the person before? I have. It's happened several times in my life. Usually that person is a woman, but a few times it was another guy. Sometimes I feel like I was in love with the woman, and I am never 100% successful in forgetting her. But there is at least 1 woman who I don't feel love for, just a feeling of familiarity. When this happens, I often think I knew the person from where ever I was before I came here. I don't know if everyone experiences this, It's happened to me at least 7 times.

I've experienced that as well. I don't have any scriptural references for this, but I can tell you where my thought process has taken me.

I believe there are some people we are more compatible with than others. I recall one time talking and socializing with a group of close friends one night. We happen to get on a conversation about something. During the conversation, there was a weird connection I had with another person. It was with someone of the opposite sex. I say it was a "weird" connection because I don't know how else to explain it. We talked about it months later, as friends, and she felt that same weird connection. Was it a spiritual connection? A soul-mate connection? I have no idea how to describe it. Maybe it was just the wine, but I found it "enlightening" that we both felt it. As a note, I would classify myself as not a very social person, so a connection like this is extremely rare for me.

I do believe that God has created us to connect to people. Not because there is a "bucket of souls" that bump together until God chooses to "launch" us into a human body. I just believe God created us to be social people.

I also believe it is easy for some men to look on some woman and become instantly "infactuated" with them. Paul tells us that we need to control our members (however you want to define your personal members: mind, hands, eyes, etc). When I was much younger (9,10,11,12 years old), we use to visit my grandparents that lived 500 miles away. During the car ride, I would see a cute girl in another car and instantly want my dad to follow that vehicle where ever it went. At 10 years old, I didn't know anything about controlling my members.

Piece of advice - do not become infactuated with every person you see. As our faith grows in God (like a plant, shrub or tree), we become more familiar with the voice of God. As that happens, we begin to know other people by their fruits (was we are told in the Bible). You are not in love with someone just because you look at them and get all "tingly" inside. This is what the movies would have you believe. You get "tingly" because God made us that way. It is up to us to determine how we allow that "tingly" to affect us.

I'm sure I'll catch some flack for saying "tingly isn't love at first sight" but tingly isn't love at first site. It's a deep physical response to what we take in with our eyes. My 14 year old daughter is dealing with this very thing right now, just on a feminine level.

Hope this is helpful

I have had this thought come to mind a few times, think on it then forget it. Anyway it crossed my mind so I decided to put out here. I have no proof of any kind except maybe

one verse and maybe not.

suppose some where out there is a place ( not heaven ) where a different being God has placed; maybe going through a trial not like what we as humans go through on earth. What if the ones who fail are put into a human body for another trial. Naturally by God.

this is just a thought I am not saying it is true.

If?

Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.

That would be the eastern religious idea of reincarnation. God's Word does not support that idea, at all.

Per the NT Scriptures, we each have 3 parts to our being, a flesh body, spirit, and a soul. Per Scripture, our spirit with soul can... be separated from our flesh body (see Eccl.12:5-7; 1 Corinthians 15). That which is born of flesh is flesh, and that which is born of Spirit is spirit. Our spirit came from God, and not anywhere else; but our flesh body came from earthly material matter, which is where it will return to at death, never needing it again.

Blessings coheir....

I do believe Hebrews 9:27.....Brother Joe quoted for us.....says it all,I really do..

But I thought perhaps you might like my little analogy in regards to God Knowing us before we were formed(even before the foundations of the earth)

Ephesians 1:4-5

even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him. In love he predestined us for adoption as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will,

Jeremiah 1:5

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I appointed you a prophet to the nations.”

I am an artist, before I even pick out a canvas, I see that canvas & my painting completed.......in my minds eye I can already see what I am going to create,,,,,& then I bring it to life(so to speak) on a canvas that I pick out ,the place  I will put my creation

I think I have been applying time to the Jere verse and that is not needed. I  had said "souls may exist for a time somewhere"  trying to tie in with the " I knew you before I formed  you " part of the verse.

Blessings coheir,,,

I do know what you were saying but I guess I just did not explain myself very well,,,,,,although it probably not the answer you may relate to.I can only share with you how I perceive things ,still I do understand your question and what you are wondering.....

Before I draw a beautiful person or a creation I do know them because they are already existing in my mind, alive, moving about ......we are reconciled back to our Father,it is where we do come from....we were a part of Him & became separated from Him,,,,,perhaps our souls did already exist,in Him,as we are also eternal beings,,,,created from Him (speculation,of course)

In John's Gospel Ch 9 starts with this, "As He went along, He saw a man blind from birth. His disciples asked him, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?”  The problem with that question is how could have the man sinned since he was born blind. Jesus side steps that issue in His answer. For 10 years I refused to consider what the disciples were implying. But then 5 years ago I met a woman online who was an Orthodox Jew. I asked her what Jews believe happen to us after death, and I was shocked when she said she was taught we come back to Earth in a new body. She called it transmigration of the soul, not reincarnation. But it's the same basic idea. I did some research and found out almost all religions, except Christianity (and maybe Islam) all believe in some form of rebirth on Earth. I never knew that. I then started thinking that maybe before Jesus came here that was true.

Since you can't get to Heaven following the Mosaic law, and since very few people in the OT had the gift of the Holy Spirit, what happened to the souls of all the people who lived and died before Jesus. I don't know, so this is just an opinion. Perhaps God recycled their souls. It's just a thought, I'm not trying to say it's a fact.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
