I've met Phil Donahue - was a guest on his show. He is much taller in real life then he appears, and was very nice when I talked to him. I offered a suggestion for a topic for his show and he had me write it down and give it to a producer and they did do a show on it.

Was also a guest on the Morton Downy Jr. show (does anyone remember that one?), but didn't meet him.

The BEST - I met Newt Gingrich. I almost had apoplexy, lol. I was SO excited. I was pumping gas in Virginia (on a road trip) and he pulled in behind me. I was falling all over myself, wondering what to say so I wouldn't look like an idiot, lol. I waited so long, that I had paid for my gas (with shaking hands) and I saw that he had pulled up to a parking space to go in and pay. Passed him going in/out, but still too dumbfounded to say anything. When I came out, his gas tank was open, so I closed it. I waited for him to come out and then told him that I closed his gas tank for him. I shook his hand and told him how much I admire him. He was super nice. I'm not usually "star struck" and couldn't care less about Hollywood celebrities, but was THRILLED to meet Newt, lol.

BTW - he was driving a huge, white SUV.

I have met the late John denver before he died a close family friend was a good freind of his and yes he said (Far out many times). I was within 10 feet of Ronald Reagan when he was here at the mayo clinic. I have met Harry Belafonte. And I saw James Garner at Mpls International airport and got his autograph. I got his attention by yelling hey Rockford !!

When I was at Disney World one time Art Linkletter was in line behind me at a drink stand..(it was beside the Tiki birds..LOL). I didn't notice him until the people I was with pointed him out. Then I went back and asked if I could take his picture. He took off his sunglasses so I could get a good one.

I was on a ship for a month with Hal Roach, Jr., the producer of the old Our Gang movies.

When we first got to Indonesia in 1970, we had to stay in the Hotel Indonesia for a month while we looked for a house to live in. While we were there the Apollo 12 Astronauts stayed there while on a visit to President Suharto. I saw them every day but was too shy to talk with them. My brother on the other hand had several visits with them, and I got him to get their autographs for me in my autograph book. Alan Bean refused to sign autographs I still have that autograph book.

Darrell Abbott (Pantera, Damage Plan) was friend of mine until someone emptied a clip into his head last month.

I recently have become friends with S K Sung, husband of the late Nora Lamb (China Cry). He is 94 years old, still mentally sharp, and in better physical condition than I've ever been!

I've met and/or known lots of celebrities in the music world and in politics...but I have never been impressed by actors.

Richard Wumbrandt, founder of "voice of the martyrs", was the most honorable person I ever met.

Yes I met Paul Winfield. A wonderful actor and just plain nice man. He played in Touched By An Angel several different times, and did the movie "King" about Martin Luther King. I have seen him in hundreds of shows and manyl movies. I met him at a dog show in Long Beach Calif. He raised and showed black Pugs. He kidded that he looked like his dogs. A wonderful guy and a christian. He is now home with the Lord.

OH Wow, where do I start - in the middle!

Thomas - I went to a John Denver concert at Blossom Music Center August 24th, 1974. How do I remember the exact date, you ask? It was the week after I got saved, which was August 19th, and I had those tickets for several months and I was going lol. It was excellent, did not get to actually meet him though.

Okay, when I was 12, we flew from Ohio to Calif. to visit relatives. The current Lassie at that time was on our plane, and I did shake hands with Gene Audrey, scared to death as a kid lol.

Later years here in Cleveland, there was a place called Music Carnival, which was nothing but a tent outside, and had special singers each summer. I went to many of them, and met and actually shook hands with a very young Tom Jones, and Englebert Humperdink, Jerry Vale (anyone remember him), John Davidson and several comedians.

Before that, in 1965, in Cleveland there was a movie made called the Fortune Cookie with Jack Lemon and Walter Matteau. I did actually meet Walter where he talked to us, Jack just shook hands. I was in a group scene in that movie, at the old Browns Stadium.

After I got saved, I have met various singers through the years, some at churches, some in concerts.

There are some others I have met, politicians, etc., through jobs I have had in the past.

It is exciting to see where some of these folks have gone with their careers through the years. I was going to be a famous comedian, but oh well, here I sit. I still may be a famous author though, time will tell lol.

The most important person I met was Jesus, and HE I shall see again!!!

Henry Fonda, Oliver Stone, Pearl Bailey, Michael Keaton and Courtney Fox were all chance encounters. Harry Morgan, Jamie Farr, William Christopher, Alan Alda, Mike Farrell, Larry Linville, Loretta Swit, Gary Burghoff on many occassions. Grew up with Amanda Blake as part of my family's friends. I also have met various sports celebrities like Jake Plummer and Tony Stewart. Im probably forgetting some people.

About eighteen years ago, I met Jesus and now He walks with me and He talks with me and He tells I am His own and He has assured me that if I endure to the end I can move in with Him. Well I'm, eighty two this year and I'm already packed and I am excited. PRAISE THE LORD!
