No, the Charismatic approach to prayer does amount twisting God's arm if you listen to how they teach about prayer.  I am getting it.   I get what you and others are saying; but, what you and others are saying is false teaching.   I used to live around Charismatics and their goofy theology about prayer.    And I watched as they didn't get what they wanted and I watched as they went down in flames when God didn't do what they demanded of him.  Charismatics believe that you can take promises from the Bible, stand on those promises until God fulfills them.   Yes, it is a matter of twisting God's arm to him to do what whey want him to do.

Yes, God wants you trust him in all things, but trusting him doesn't mean that God is going to do what you want.   Trusting him means being willing to readily accept his answer even if it isn't what you wanted.   Trusting him means, that he is enough, even if he says, "no, I am not going to heal you."    It means knowing that even if everything in your life looks like it is falling apart, you will still hold on to him and trust him to keep you in the most adverse and tragic situations.

You don't seem to have a very good grasp of what trust means.   It's not a matter of trusting him to give good news.  It's a matter of trusting him when worst things happened.  It means trusting when the news isn't good at all.   Any one can trust God when things are coming up roses and when life is all rainbows and butterflies, but trust finds its highest value for us when we are in the midst of the valley of the shadow of death.    That's when you discover if you really trust him and that's also when you discover his faithfulness.   It is in that awful dark place that your testimony is built.

The "whatever"  is literal, but it isn't a blank check.   "Whatever"  is balanced out by the sovereign will of God.   Prayer is not about God giving you everything you ask for.   You and others are confusing the idea of "whatever"    with "anything"  or "everything" you ask...      Prayer isn't about changing God's mind or anything like that.   Prayer changes us and brings us into a position of trusting God, even if we don't know his will in the matter.  It brings us into a place of humble submission knowing that God is in control and working all thing for our good and we don't  have to worry about the outcome, because the outcome will be the best, no matter what it is.

Your last comments reveal that you can't really trust God if he isn't going to give you want you want.   "Yes," "no,"  or "wait"  makes it impossible in your eyes to trust God.   You trust God to give you what you want, but you can't trust God if that expectation isn't met.   That demonstrates  very low and immature notion of what it means to truly trust God.    You only trust God if he makes the "right"  decision in your eyes.

God worked in the lives of the prophets in a special way.   To expect that each of us can expect live in the level of the supernatural like Elijah is really nothing more than vain presumption.   God had special anointings on the prophets and on certain people in the Bible that are not offered to everyone else.   So this notion that we can all have the same supernatural power that Elijah had is just nonsense.

And I never said that God isn't big enough to answer prayer.   The problem is that you define, "answering prayer"   as, "giving me what I want."   You apparently don't see, "no"  as an answer.  It really has nothing to do with the either the size of your faith or God's size.  It has to do with what God sovereignly decides he will do.   His size is irrelevant.

I think people who sit in judgment over Charismatics, calling them goofy are just goofy themselves.

Is it always in the perfect will of God to heal every person of any illness / disability 100%  of the time?

But it isn't God's will that we be ill.

Some aren't healed immediately, but they give up before they receive it, saying that they have not been healed. Others receive an excellent, yet not instantaneous healing through the use of medical intervention. Others have all the faith they need to appropriate their own healing, which is in the Atonement, and they are healed. Others, still, have that same faith, and the Lord takes them home, where He ministers complete wholeness to them there.

I didn't call anyone  goofy.  I said their theology was goofy.  Learn how to read, Floatingaxe...

You can't really refute my points, just complain and bear false witness...

Floatingaxe, the question is whether or not it is God's will to divinely heal every believer in THIS life.   We will get new bodies in heaven, but that is not the issue.   The Bible doesn't promise that God will heal 100% of the time when asked.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
