18``No one has taken it away from Me, but I lay it down on My own initiative. I have authority to lay it down, and I have authority to take it up again. This commandment I received from My Father."  John 10:17-18 NASB

OP  "He never operated as God on earth. He was PURELY and COMPLETELY human like you and I. "

Alleluia! God is completely in control, and He even turns satan's plans to good to fulfill His own master plan.

Jesus did and said all that He heard and saw our Father God do.  He came to reveal the Father to us.  While on earth He was fully man.  But He was and is fully God as well, which you also stated.  He lay aside being equal with God---He did not consider it something to cling to or grasp.  But He made Himself of no reputation.  He came in the likeness and appearance of a man, but He was still God.  He gave up His glory and His Name and came as a bond-slave Who was crucified among thieves for claiming to be God--"before Abraham was, I AM", and Messiah, the King of the Jews.  Phil. 2:6-9   He had the authority and power within Himself to come back to life, just as he had the authority to give up His life of His own accord.  You and I do not have that power of our own accord.  That authority was granted Him by the Father.   He was more than a man on this earth.  He had laid aside his own reputation, will, knowledge and privileges so as to defer to His Father [which is also an example for us to follow].  He could not give up being Who He is, Immanuel (translated God with us), the Word made flesh, Jesus Savior.    No mere man could satisfy the Father's demands for a perfect sacrifice for the sins of the world.  He lived a sinless life, laying aside His own will to obey His Father perfectly (which no man can do) so that He can intercede for us as having been tempted in all ways as we are, yet without sin.  When our Passover Lamb of God was inspected, no fault or guile was found in Him.  Behold! the Lamb of God, Who takes away the sin of the World!  He felt our infirmities of physical thirst, hunger, fatigue and pain.  He was totally and completely man, yet He was God in human flesh Who took the sins of the world upon Himself as the perfect sacrifice for our sin.

Today He has a Name above all names.  He was exalted by the Father.  Jn 17:5 NKJV And now, O Father, glorify me with Yourself with the glory I had with You BEFORE THE WORLD WAS.

Let us always remember how big, powerful, holy and perfect our God is, and how much He loves us.

Thank you for the excellent exhortation!  Our God reigns!

Chrislifted said in post 1:

I speak to the 7,000 who have not (and will not) bow their kneels to Baal, arise and shine. Stand for the truth. The Lord made life hell for Satan during His days on earth. Satan actually fell like lightening from his places over the regions the Lord operated (Luke 10:18). The disciples did the same. They were described as "turning the world up-side-down" (down-side-up, actually) in the book of Acts 17:6. We can do the same. It's time to put off the restraints (Hebrews 12:1-2).

Are you thinking of some sort of Biblical Christian physical victory over the earth before Jesus' 2nd coming? If so, note that Daniel 12:7b shows that at Jesus' 2nd coming, he will come to a church which has been completely defeated physically by the Antichrist. For during the Antichrist's future, literal 3.5-year worldwide reign, he will be allowed to make war against the church and to overcome it physically in every nation (Revelation 13:5-10, Revelation 14:12-13, Revelation 20:4-6, Matthew 24:9-13). It is only when the Antichrist has completely broken all the physical power of the church that the future tribulation of Revelation chapters 6 to 18 and Matthew 24 will end (Daniel 12:7b), and Jesus' 2nd coming will immediately occur, at which time he will physically resurrect and rapture (gather together) the church (Matthew 24:29-31; 2 Thessalonians 2:1-8, Revelation 19:7 to 20:6). At his 2nd coming, Jesus will tread the winepress of God's wrath alone (Isaiah 63:3, Revelation 19:15-21), and so he/God will get all the glory for defeating the power of evil on the earth (Deuteronomy 32:39-43), for he/God won't share this glory with the church (cf. Isaiah 42:8-14, Isaiah 26:18).

The Lord is coming for a glorious church that is already demonstrating the fullness of Christ on earth (in love, wisdom and power). We need all of these to "disciple" (and not just evangelize) the nations (tongues, tribes and kindreds). Let us follow the Lord Jesus' life with keen interest on Jesus and not just on the people he healed or delivered. We are saviours (patterned after The Saviour) out Zion (Obadiah 1:21, Joel 2:32). We have been called to pattern our lives after the Lord Jesus (That's the primary essence of the accounts of the Gospel), so that we can manifest the Love, wisdom and power He manifested and so disciple the nations. That takes a lot of dying to self... the exact thing the average man can't stand. But a few are already doing this - in love, self denial, self control, humility (doing God's will even when it is most inconvenient), giving to the word and prayers.

Brethren, IT IS DOABLE (forgive my caps), For Jehovah takes pleasure in His people; He will beautify the meek with salvation. Let the saints be joyful in glory; let them sing aloud on their beds. Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a two-edged sword in their hand, to carry out vengeance on the nations and punishments on the peoples, to bind their kings with chains and their nobles with iron-bands, to carry out on them the judgment written; this is an honor for all His saints. Praise Jehovah! Psa 149:4 - 9

Sadly, but necessarily, the judgment above must begin from the house (church of God). 1Pet 4:17-18, Malachi 3:3-4, and several others. It is remnant that will come out of this purging process that God will use as battle axes to save, deliver and judge the earth (Jer 51:19-24). I beseech you brethren, to put your revelation caps on. Read beyond the letters. These old testament prophecies would have been a waste of time ans space if they weren't relevant to you and I today. Resolve to be a part of that remnant, that portion of Jacob which is not like them; the type God will choose to use as His battle Axe.

The (knowledge of the) glory of God shall cover the earth (Isa 11:9, Hab 2:14). No blind spots. No excuses. We are the(potential) carriers of this glory. Make yourself ready. People all over the earth will come to us (Isa 60:3-5). The sea in verse 5 refers to people. This is the church the Lord is coming for, that Man-child company that is caught-up to the heavens. The fullness of the anti-christ, where the Woman and the remnant of her seed (not some "ragtag" beaten-down church) is after the catching up (the rapture). What we see today in operation is the spirit of the anti-christ. The Lord Jesus will still come for that church when He shall appear physically for all to see. But the Zion (Man-child) church, already caught up in rapture shall appear "WITH" Him to rule for 1,000 years.

Hope I haven't started an argument here? I understand issues on Eschatology attracts lots it. I put a stop here. Lol.

God bless you all brethren.

Thank you Willa for the great insight. I appreciate that. However, It is pertinent I maintain that the Lord Jesus was PURELY HUMAN Just like you and I, Otherwise, he wouldn't have been qualified to be the price. The Lord is calling us into sonship, as saviours (patterned after the Saviour) on earth. He was NOT more than a man on earth. His achievements on earth are possible with us, only if we are ready to make the sacrifices - not the heavenly sacrifice of the relinquishing his status as God, but everyday sacrifices we are expected to make to see God's kingdom come and His will be done in our lives, families, community and on earth. The Lord approved of Him (even before He performed one single miracle) not because of His status as God (which he completely stripped Himself of on earth) but because as man, He consistently did those things that were pleasing to the Father, from age 12 (when the bible records that he recognized His divine purpose) up to the age of 30, when God chose to put Him on the world scene, having fully mature in character (Luk_2:52  And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man., Heb 5:8-9  though being a Son, yet He learned obedience by the things which He suffered. And being perfected, He became the Author of eternal salvation to all those who obey Him..).

The Lord Jesus came to show us sons of men, how to rise through the ashes of sin and limitation, to become sons of God, on earth, after the First Born, among many brethren.

No mere man could satisfy the Father's demands for a perfect sacrifice for the sins of the world.  He lived a sinless life, laying aside His own will to obey His Father perfectly (which no man can do) so that He can intercede for us as having been tempted in all ways as we are, yet without sin.  You are absolutely right about that Willi. But he achieved this as a man. As the Lamb that takes away the sins of men, ONLY the Lord was (is) fit. But as saviours on earth - not to take away sin of men (only the Lord Jesus has that prerogative & status) but to become vessels for God's love, wisdom and power to flow into the earth, to heal and to deliver - to that extent, yes, we are saviours out of mount Zion.

The statement of faith of this forum states that God came in the flesh.  The Word was made flesh and dwelt among us, . John 1:14.  And His name shall be called Immanuel, translated God with us.   Matt.

How can He be begotten of the the Holy God and not be divine?  Were He a mere man He would not have to be born of God or of a Virgin.  But He was conceived of the Holy Spirit.

Col 1:19  NKJV For it pleased the Father that in Him (Christ) all the fullness should dwell,  2:9  For in Him dwells all the fullness of the GODHEAD BODILY;

It is the universal belief of Christianity that Jesus was fully God and fully man in human flesh.  I would be very interested if you can name denominations that teach otherwise.

The only ones I am aware of are Jehovah's witnesses and Word of Faith.  Is this also the belief of the Church of God (COG) that Jesus was only a man while on earth??  Please name any others you can think of.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
