Were the sons of Seth alive and shouting when God created the earth.....   I think not.

The angels are sometimes called stars or morning stars, but not sons. Even so God may consider them as sons and call them sons if He wants to. But to jump onto the angels breeding fantasy, is to deny what Christ said "they (angels) neither marry or are given in marriage."

Our world is not the only one created, many existed before ours was made, each which have representatives, called sons.

Satan was hoping to be the representative for our earth - which God gave him opportunity to pretend, needless to say Satan was not a very good advocate, but a destroyer.

Jesus said  "In Heaven, they neither marry or are given in marriage"   It is very important not to leave out scripture when you ponder subjects.....   and it is true that they do not marry in heaven....     and neither will we.

 

but on earth is a different story.     Not only the Bible, but every civilization that we have history of speaks of gods coming down and having children with humans...   those gods are simply the 200 angels that left their habitation and entered our realm and took for themselves wives.

BTW JohnD  Jesus is the only Begotten Son of God.......     not the only son of God.        Angels are referred to as sons of God in Job and also in Genesis Chapter six.  Adam is also referred to as a son of God, but when his children are spoken of they are the sons of Adam.  When we are born again spiritually, we are born of God and are the sons of God.    Well unless you are female and I would say daughters of God.

Genesis chapter 6 has the introduction - "when men began to multiply..."

It does not say, when angels began to multiply with men...

But even if one misses that, there is no reason in any of the following texts to speculate further.

Some would like to think that the giants were the bad ones, thanks to children's stories and entertainment; but before the flood, all of the people were larger, as well as the animals and plant life. 

The lineage of Adam had extensive knowledge in all aspects of science and life, which the general population did not, but when they interbred, this knowledge and talent was engaged, exploited and of course misused to an extent not imagined. 

Some suggest that the giants were a product of the interbreeding, but no, verse 4 says - there were giants to begin with, and after that...

This whole chapter is about God talking about destroying mankind, not mixed angels and man.

To assume that because there were giants, that the other people were little, is not warranted by the language or story. In the previous chapter it talks about the longevity of the people in "those days," who lived to be hundreds of years old, even close to a thousand years old.

If there were any giants in age, intellect, size and strength, most likely it would be the people who came directly from the hand of God, and remained connected to God. And so the line of Seth, not Cain, bore the image "as sons of God," in character - which included the preservation of their health and intellect, instead of allowing themselves to be corrupted.

The world was not destroyed because there were giants, but because of what they did and thought.

Job 1, the sons of God came to present themselves,"and Satan came also among them."

How does this mean that Satan is automatically one of them? Sure, he could be, but it does not prove he is one of them.

Why would someone intelligent say that he came also among them, doesn't that speak for itself?

That is like saying, the sun has risen and it is shining also.

Maybe the writer should have said, and Satan was there, instead of "came also among them."

But the language suggests he shouldn't be there, that he was not really welcome.

The point is that satan is an angel of light and he is among those who enter the presence of God thus

according to simple and plain understanding of the passage angels are being referred to as 'sons of God'

Angels are also called the morning stars, (burning suns) Job 38. Maybe the interbreeding crew can explain how that happens.

I will just say i disagree and so did many of the early first century fathers of the Church.     you can rationalize it away, but that is what Genesis says.  Sons of God were what the angels were called in the old testament.

But hey, if that's what you want to believe......   go for it for it will not be long before we will thoroughly understand.   These days are going to reach the same levels that it did before the flood.       I might suggest that you see if you can have a talk with Russ Dyzdar for some first hand experience.

There's no doubt that the future holds the same confusion that existed before the flood. And many of the things that are considered pure fiction today, will be revealed again and deceive many.
