in this I am most flawed...can the congress and senate not overturn the law?? Be they willing to lose and election??

There is no law to overturn!  The Supreme Court did not make a law, contrary to popular consensus.   The legislative branch cannot overturn laws.  They make laws.   It is the duty of the Supreme Court to overturn laws based on their lack of constitutionality.

But in this case (and many others) it is the Supreme Court which has attacked the Constitution.  Since marriage is not a federal matter, no federal court has the right to determine what constitutes marriage within a state. And certainly does not have the right to establish sexual perversion as a constitutional right.  Indeed the states had laws against sodomy for a very long time. This is an attempt by a left-liberal government to encourage a left-liberal Supreme Court to make laws which are illegitimate, while turning a blind eye to the lawlessness of encouraging illegal immigrants, while releasing known terrorists and hardened criminals into the general population.

It is "Not" the duty of the Supreme Court to overturn laws based on their lack of constitutionality.  The job and duty of the Supreme Court is not to overturn laws but they are to review the laws in light of the constitution.  Then only if something is clearly unconstitutional which is by original intent of the constitution would a law be overturned and even in that case it should only be in very rare cases.  The judges took an oath to uphold the constitution and most of the judges have violated their oath of office and become dictators thus dupping the American people and sadly the American people does not know what they are doing.  Sadly those that do know what is going on doesn't have the power to do anything about it is like our hands are literally tied.  Resistance is the only thing that is left the way I see it and  I personally believe this nation need a cue.  The military needs to rise up and come to the American peoples aid to take back our country.  It very well could come down to a revolution of the God fearing to rise up.

The same Supreme Court Judges not to long back were "upholding" the sodomy laws and then turned around and "reversed" those decision.  This has been an ongoing problem at least back to the 50's and 60's.

I find this debate...idk, rather odd coming from Christian circles. Considering that heterosexual Christian marriages end the most in divorce, it would stand to reason that what is 'sabotaging the american family' has nothing to really do with legalizing gay marriage.

It is God's Words about such that we should be taking notice of
Luke 17:29
2 Peter 2:6
Jude 7
Rev 11:8

True, but I was quoting the article. There seems to be this notion that legalizing gay marriage is destroying heterosexual marriage and family. It just seems like a weak argument, considering....

That's all.

The Bible, not man defines marriage.   Gay marriage isn't marriage.   In order to legalize gay marriage, we have to redefine what marriage is.   And now, today, people see marriage as, basically, anything you want it to be.   In the Bible, marriage is between a man and a woman.   But in our liberal, upside down culture, marriage has no particular definition.    And yes, that has an incredible and detrimental affect on the family.

You are also wrong about Christian heterosexual marriages end the most in divorce.   I don't know where you found that statistic, but its wrong.   Truly Christian marriages almost never end in divorce.   The old Gallup poll that at one time said that 51% of Christian marriages in divorce, didn't take into account that many who call themselves Christians are not, in fact, authentic Christians.   Many people think they are Christians because they were sprinkled as an infant, but have darkened the door of a church since that time.   Some think they are Christians because their parents were Christians.     When you eliminate those who are Christian in name only, the statistics about Christian marriage change drastically.    When filter down to committed followers of Christ, the divorce rate among Christians is not even 1%.

Gay marriages usually end up in not just divorce, but they completely destroy the lives of the participants, because homosexual relationships are rarely, if ever, monogamous.  There is a seedy underbelly to the gay lifestyle that never gets any air time on TV.    You never hear about the drug use and the suicide rates among gays.   The gay lifestyle is completely unfulfilling.   People try to hide and fudge the numbers, but gays have a higher rate of suicide than heterosexuals, and no it is not because they are persecuted and bullied  by heterosexuals.

When we redefine marriage and redefine the family, then in truth, anything can be marriage.  You can marry your cat according to the way we are defining marriage in this day and age.  Pretty soon pedophilia will be seen as a "sexual orientation"  and pedophiles will want to marry their underage victims.    To say this has no effect on families is just wrong.

When they deny the constitutionality of a law, they are overturning it, making it un-enforceable.

Unfortunately that is exactly what is happening but that is not the duty of the Supreme court judges to do so.  That is what is making things so complicated for the will of the American people to be carried out in the land.  The Supreme court has taken it upon themselves to make laws that are unconstitutional and are getting away with it (which it is not there responsibility nor duty to make laws).

As an outsider is there no check on the SC? to overturn the miss represented laws? ( forgot all my US history learned in school) . Here in Canada we just had the SC. make a ruling that is going to set a precedent for the niqab I fear in Canadian citizenship ceremony when it is not up to them to do so...on religious grounds where there is nothing like it in Islam.

The Supreme Courts of both countries has gone far beyond their mandates.  They have been indulging in "judicial activism" and nobody but nobody is challenging them, and dealing with this very serious issue.  Who is supposed to make laws and who is suppose to apply laws?  And who is supposed to uphold the Constitutions rather then manipulate them for their own left-liberal agenda?

Same-sex marriage is undoubtedly an attack on the institution of marriage and the family. The Bible tells us clearly as to what constitutes marriage (one man, one woman, until death),  and that one of its goals is procreation.  Same-sex marriage is a polite euphemism for "permanent-sexual perversion with the blessing of the state".  Think about that, and the confusion it will cause young people and society.

I suppose if you put it like that...then, yes. I see your point.

Someone commented here, can't locate the post, on the stats of Christian divorce. That is a true stat, the majority of divorces in the US, are between people who identify as Christians. People can identify with a particular faith, but not practice it though. So...there's that.

There is no power given except that which is given by God and all power in heaven and earth was given unto Jesus.  The better question is why is Jesus giving these people the power to do what they are doing?  Why is Jesus raising up such rulers?  The past shows that God even raised up Pharoah to reveal his ability to deliver his people.  There is only one Supreme Court and only ONE who sits as judge there.  I am convinced that the laws being made today are being made because we, the church, have failed to rule as we were given juristiction to do so.  We don't speak to the fig tree and watch it wither.  No!  We water it and eat the fruit thereof with itching ears instead.  We don't tell the mountains to be removed and cast into the sea and watch them obey our voice.  No!  We sit in the valley below marveling at how big the mountains have grown!

How can we teach others about the power of God to make one free in Christ if we ourselves live in bondage to fear?

History repeats itself.  God will again destroy the wicked from the land.  We have an opportunity to teach as many as will how to avoid judgment altogether through Christ our Lord and following his commands.  Let us not be weary in well doing fornwe shall reap in due time!

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
