It means "following Christ Jesus" in the way of His Holy Spirit, by believing His Word, and obeying Him/It.  For greater understanding, read Gal. 5:22-25, and then read Romans 8.

In His Love,

Suzanne

once a person has accepted Jesus as their Saviour, ..truly said yes to Him, the Holy Spirit comes into their heart and they no longer think, act, do the things that would displease the Holy Spirit or be disgraceful to The name of Jesus. That means that the Holy Spirit becomes their conscience and guides them to do the right thing, say the right thing..

we are told when young " You are known by the company you keep." Their actions reflect  on you and  your actions reflect on them and you become one. Just so, the company of the Holy Spirit living within your heart will help you to reflect Jesus only in a way that pleases Him.

What exactly does walking in the spirit mean?

It means giving the Holy Spirit control of your life. And the Holy Spirit uses the Word of God to show you what He wants you to do (think, speak, act), and what He does not want you to do. So the Spirit and the Word work together to change you into the likeness of Christ. The Holy Spirit also speaks to you directly, and indirectly through others.

Believers have the Spirit of Christ, the hope of glory within them (Colossians 1:27). Those who walk in the Spirit will show forth daily, moment-by-moment holiness. This is brought about by consciously choosing by faith to rely on the Holy Spirit to guide in thought, word, and deed (Romans 6:11-14). Failure to rely on the Holy Spirit's guidance will result in a believer not living up to the calling and standing that salvation provides (John 3:3;Ephesians 4:1Philippians 1:27). We can know that we are walking in the Spirit if our lives are showing forth the fruit of the Spirit which is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22,23). Being filled (walking) with the Spirit is the same as allowing the word of Christ (the Bible) to richly dwell in us (Colossians 3:16).

Walking in the spirit simply put is the realization that temporal things which are what we see are temporary and will cease to exist. All that exist are the unseen the spiritual. Such as your salvation your most important possession that  is beyond your five senses. The Bible says to set your affections on above and not on earth.

Christianity is one of the very few "religions" that has the Divine living within.

If a monk who believes in a god, fabricated by the world, can consecrate themselves and their bodies, in a lifestyle would put the majority of Christians to shame, imagine what God thinks about our loose and worldly living.

When we received Salvation, we were given a measure of the Holy Spirit. God dwells in us people. He doesn't change.

We change.

Family changes.

Our jobs change.

The world changes.

God doesn't change. He still requires obedience. Following his word, following that still-small-voice. Walking in the spirit, is to walk following how Jesus walked, and listening to what you know what God wants you to do.

Without prayer and reading God's word, how will you know His voice?

Listen to me, there will be many in that day of judgment that will receive the most horrible news. Jesus will say "I never knew you". Yes, the Grace of God is here and now. Yes, Jesus will in no wise cast anyone away if thy come to him. But, that is NOW. Not tomorrow, for tomorrow isn't promised to anyone. It is NOW.

Walking in the Spirit, is to follow obedience to what God is telling you to do, or don't do. Doing so, you won't fulfill the lusts of the flesh, lusts of the eye, and pride of life.

The battlefield is in the mind. Mortify the flesh. Do it daily. The God of all Heaven and Earth lives within you. Start following him by walking in the Spirit.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
