My 5 cents:

 I can sympathize in many ways with my secular friends, who just like you, wish to ban religion into the private sphere.

 Religion is indeed a deeply private and intimate matter. Which is exactly why I feel compassion for my Muslim neighbours who see what is holy to them insulted on a daily basis these days. As a Christian I’m told to love my neighbour as myself and thus it follows I must not take part in those insults, because I know what it feels like to have my faith insulted and it ain’t nice. And this is just one example how it is impossible for me not to transfer my faith in Christ  also to my political opinions. Faith  is not a private hobby and I’m not Christ’s part-time property, but I’m wholly His.

Apparently many of our US-American fellow Christians feel the same way: They’ll openly admit that their political opinions are informed by their religious beliefs and they are proud of it. What bemuses me though is that, even though they claim they base their beliefs on the very Bible that I base mine on, they often seem to arrive at utterly different conclusions on what it is Christ wants.

That is right and correct ,for the truth is complicated and when you think you surely have it is a sure sign that you don't .Unless you have all the neccessary information on a subject such as this it is better to wait and learn .  You read websites such as anti -Islam and son for your info and then you assume , you judge . As far as I 'm concerned government is something neccessary in human societies until Christ comes . It is part of an ordered process which is needed for us to learn and  develop or there would be  chaos .  

Until then America is a democracy, and her people decide how it should be run for the benefit of the citizens . You may criticise overseas policy ,but have no right to interfere in internal politics .

On a last note ,Merkel was a communist and an officer in the Stasi ,and she has some things she wishes to keep secret .She works with people to undermine nations within Europe ,and you should look up why God created Babel ,as it is happening again . Do not mistake left wing ,progressist politics for christianity .There is sometimes an over lap ,but it is not the same thing .
