I have looked into the SDA church and had a really good gentleman who was a member of that church work for my dad for many years....    Can't buy into that set if doctrine teachings myself....    says the mark of the beast is the Sunday Laws being enforced.....    just not what the Bible teaches.

but none so severe and contrary as that the blood of JESUS is NOT ENOUGH for atonement from all sin.

i.e. some differences might be better tolerated if not accepted, but not all.

My apologies, the edict done by the church was the council of Laodicea, not Nicea. At that council it said that Christians should not keep the sabbath of the Jews, but instead the 1st day of the week.

When you say the gates were shut on the Sabbath, what are you referring to? Are you referring to Nehemiah 13:19?

In the law, a person was not to carry a burden outside of their homes on the Sabbath, but there is a difference in the law concerning walled cities. A person could carry within a walled city but could not carry a burden from outside of the wall to inside of the wall, or vice versa.

The Lord's Day is the Christian sabbath, and can fulfil every requirement of the original sabbath.  But the Sabbatarians are never satisfied with the Lord's Day (Rev 1:10).  Scripture tells us plainly that the sabbath days were SHADOWS and Christ is the reality.  But even this has no impact on Sabbatarians.

BTW Scripture also condemns the Jews for not observing the sabbath days as they should have been observed. thank you for checking on that, for the people observed the Sabbath and the gates to the city at that time were closed, for the day was a day of rest, and if the gates were closed then no one in or out, it is like watching the old Viking movies, that the city was safe with in the walls, and enemies  could not enter in, but if something bad happened inside of the city it be hard to get out

 the conspiracy of the sunday law, is talked about ,yes by the SDA , and but if you look a little harder to see that this is in legislation , it is brought to the senses to be a soon vote to make it a real law, today as we speak it is being looked at, for there is a commercial with the religious groups on air about the day of rest to come, and spear heading this is the one that leads rome, 

also we have a change to soon be finalized about the day of worship with the church of SDA, in fact, to give you the full detail it is more then can be told , and must be talked about careful for there is , other issues tied into this along with a agenda of this movement ,to show the world a move toward the uniting of all the religious sects, to become unity with the main and one religion, that will come to dominate, for now there is two world  religious groups ,that are dominating our world , and the two , will become,  well>>> ??? who knows , just a speculation, and a wild guess, on my own opinion,

Lets look at the vision of Daniel, to have a system, and to make it come to be, and to see how it all works together for the fulfilling in revelation, we see that the foundation is set,. and the system in place, the members are set, and the program is orchestrated ,

 now push it with laws and removal of rights , and set a military power to enforce it,

 look at the technology, and the agenda to pull something like this off, now have the world or our country sit in the need of a financial power, that controls the strings and the timing to domino, down as one wall goes down and another falls , until it has come down and the system is in full control to do as it was told , the bible tells us , that the rich the small the great and the poor, will all fall to this system

 if you do not look around and how our society and the laws have been used, and our military and money is being used, and the food and the trades are going, and what makes and starts the wars, then we are not looking hard enough,

 we read our bibles, but look around, the world we are living in, is setting up right now for the implementation of the system talked about that will come to you and me are we ready to serve our God and go with out, or serve the God of this world and save our sinful selves, ?

 things to think about , reading the bible and following God is knowing we are in deep danger, and the evil is on the hills, we will face tribulation, and we will have to go through this beast system, there is no way out, 

and so we must, see , Gods calling to us, and the Warning signs, God is for us, and shows us, what is to come, and we are to be obedient, and not fall for the deception of the world like we will not suffer anything, I am being realistic, and wanting to share the real God we serve, and let you know we are not to fear, blessings

Ok, am I understanding correctly that you are attending an SDA church?

I looked up the book you quoted in the previous post and found it to be more of a conspiracy theory believed in the SDA. The book was written about 32 years ago. I found no legislation in the U.S. about mandating Sunday rest or Sunday worship.

I also checked the SDA and found nothing about any change in worship to a Sunday, except for one church which was adding a Sunday service as an outreach, but not abandoning Saturday services.

As far as the gate being closed in the OT, Nehemiah ordered the gate closed to prevent people from carrying things into the city on the Sabbath. Carrying is forbidden. But, people could enter the city as long as they were not carrying anything. 

Just curiosity. If you do attend an SDA church, do they sell books or take collections on Saturdays?
