I agree 100% & although some people really do not want to hear it, it is the reason we have to keep decency & order at Worthy Christian Forums by being mindful of posting Appropriately (by Section)............we MUST do our part to keep this Blessed Place set apart from "the world) ,,,,,it can easily become another facebook, instagram etc,,,,,,,,    God Bless Worthy & to Him be the Glory!       With love -in Christ,Kwik

One thing I like about forums that they can teach us lessons online so I don't make the mistakes in person.

If multiple Christians in a state of grace tell me that I'm irritating, that must be because of Pride, lust, anger, covetousness ,  jealousy, laziness, gluttony, unforgiveness, selfishness, or some other thing that is keeping the spiritual wings tied up and weighed down from growing in spiritual, mental, and emotional maturity.

Criticisms , rejections, and loss of friendships online  can be a good indicator that says there's something very wrong in my personal life.

It isn't pleasant, but it also is not as painful as experiencing those things in real life and it doesn't decrease the quality of life and peace and happiness of others as much when I display such behaviour online as opposed to real life

This pretty much sums it up. The primary focus of the Christian is on Christ, and what follows is a focus on souls and their salvation, as well as the things of the Spirit, rather than those of the flesh.  Christians are left on this earth to share the Gospel and to be salt and light.

I hear you Deirdre,  there are not a lot of things which interest me either on the Internet, I do use Facebook , it can be a tool to witness to other people , you can have it as a testimony as unto the Lord , there are lots of good Christians website on Facebook which gives you very interesting articles to read. I love also the beautiful quotes which lift Jesus up which people post. But like you , I', not always that interested of what friends post that would take a day if I read all they post but my Christian friends often post something which lift the name of Jesus. I just know who will post something I would like to read. But as I said, I do like it to have Christian fellowship with people and to have contact with my family.

Jesus will give you different interest as you walk with Him and after a long time you will be amazed how much He changed you day by day~~~

Lift Jesus high:emot-heartbeat:

What are the best Christian pages on Facebook that you would recommend?  I haven't searched for these yet.  I've been sticking to normal websites so far in helping me learn as a New Christian.

I find a lot of online forums not all that interesting, most are pointless. There are 3 I'm active on-this one, obviously, bleepingcomputer which is a computer help site I volunteer on, and a gun forum I recently joined for the purpose of gaining more knowledge in the world of reloading, which is a hobby of mine.

I'm still active on Facebook, and I game online off and on, but other then that I'm nowhere near as active as I used to be. I find the older I get, the less the internet and computers interest me, ID much rather be outdoors hiking, fishing, hunting and shooting, and often with my family (though sometimes Its my alone time) and I just recently picked up a new hobby, metal detecting.

Offline life > online life lol Yes...although I've met many wonderful e-friends that most likely, I won't meet in offline life, and I'm grateful for technology putting us all in touch here and elsewhere, but it's important to spend time in nature, in the Word, in prayer, exercising, etc...spending too much time online really can breed depression. I've seen it with some people on other forums, they are often complaining as to how depressed they are, and find when they take a few days or weeks away from posting, they feel a lot more hopeful and overall, better. Thanks for chiming in! The last thread is REALLY why I come here. Just kidding!

I think this is a very reflective post of yours, spiderman. It is true, too...sometimes we need others to help us on our journey.

Personally, I kind of see it in the opposite light.  Jesus said you will be hated because of Him and His truth. I would become very suspicious of my own theology if everyone I encountered, or even most I encountered, wanted to be my friends. Especially, in knowing how watered down contemporary christianity currently is.

Jesus sheep hear His voice and the world hears it's own.

There is a reason why out of thousands of people Jesus interacted with on a daily basis over the span of 3+ years, only a handful were present at His crucifixion and even less were within His inner circle...and even one of those was a wolf in sheep's clothing.

well stated, I totally agree with that,

I think it becomes, more of a democratic view, that takes  the lead, over, most of the truth , most of the time, , that's why we have so much confusion, in our thinking and understanding, and many shot from the hip , with out ever opening the bible,

Reminds me of the song by Steven Curtis Chapman "For The Sake Of The Call"

Nobody stood and applauded them
So they knew from the start
This road would not lead to fame
All they really knew for sure
Was Jesus had called to them
He said "come follow Me" and they came
With reckless abandon, they came

Empty nets lying there at the water's edge
Told a story that few could believe
And none could explain
How some crazy fishermen agreed to go where Jesus lead
With no thought to what they would gain
For Jesus had called them by name
And they answered...

We will abandon it all for the sake of the call
No other reason at all but the sake of the call
Wholly devoted to live and to die for the sake of the call
The sake of the call

Where's that mindset, today?

I think He  is great, but casting crowns, mercy me big daddy weave. Jeremy camp .kari jobe ,and oh yeah , jj weeks,  is really good for , music preaching and teaching of God, for sure, ' yes you are right no one knows the cost ?

if many would know the cost?,  or finds out the cost, ? they would abandon it all, to save them selves, and not for God,?

and they would do the opposite in stead of what the song tells us  lol.

thank you brother,

Ever since I've returned to Christianity, worldly type things don't interest me as much. Social media, such as Facebook and Instagram are really boring to me, now. And lately, I've been feeling incredibly bored with secular type message forums. Like they're all the same...a 'me me me' mentality...boring jokes and memes, married people flirting with each other, and a herd type mentality. Now we do live IN the world, but we are not OF the world, but that said...I just find areas that used to interest me, rather boring and flat, as it pales in comparison to my relationship with Christ. I guess this is what it means to finally believe 'My grace is sufficient for you.' It truly is, and at first, I felt sad that I've stopped enjoying certain websites and fields of interest, but maybe this is what peace in the Lord feels like. I no longer look to the world to complete me, or satisfy me, and it's a great feeling. Can anyone else relate to this?

I have been through many "phases" since becomming a Christian in 2008.

Consider the following;

1Jo 2:15¶Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

1Jo 2:16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

1Jo 2:17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.

The things of the world are described 3 fold.

The lust of the eyes for the eye is never full of seeing and many things are pleasing to the sight.  Magazine after magazine full of color photos sell billions of copies.  Social media has an endless stream as well.

Lust of the flesh for the body itself has appetites that crave to be filled to the fullest that lead to nothingness.

But none are equal to the pride of life!  One cannot go anywhere in this world that I have seen where there isn't an opportunity to seek to be somebody to everyone or anyone else.  From things like Nobel Peace Prizes to preaching from the pulpit people are vying for position, prestige and renown.  One need not even leave their own home to be plagued by this one.

So what then shall we love that we not suffer from boredom of a stagnant life?  Do you believe God is bored?

I have found an answer to this question but I do not have time to answer now.  Maybe some of my fellow brothers and sisters can share their own experience in learning how to understand what God loves so that you will never get bored or run out of fascinating things to do in this life while we are in the world that will one day be destroyed.

Maybe that's just it...my world has changed, has forever changed, and I'm forever grateful. But, the world looks at my change and doesn't understand it. It can make you feel off, or the odd person out, but we are always accepted in Jesus. I appreciate your beautiful post, here. Thank you :)

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
