In my experience reputible ministries try to work with established existing charitible organizations to help people.

Any minister that states he "needs 2 million dollars" is suspect in my book.

This is why I rarely donate cash but rather volunteer my time to places like the salvation army. I know if I volunteer time, my resources (money) won't be squandered for illegitimate causes.

It is sad when some members of the body of Christ are so quick to pounce on the man of God at the word of the secular media.

The Lord is doing great things and the devil is looking to cause trouble.

I'll say I'm torn.

I do feel that Hinn is a poor steward, but I wouldn't go so far as to say he isn't God's. I don't like the show but have turned it on occasionally when he was actually just preaching and I couldn't find anything doctrinally wrong with what he was saying. It was Jesus and Him crucified and Paul said that is all we should be worried about.

I love Perry Stone and he says he has spent one on one time with Benny Hinn and that he basically excludes himself from the world. He said he went on a trip with him recently and the first thing he did when he entered the hotel is have the TV and literature removed, then he stayed in there until the conference in prayer.

I know we don't have any problem with rock stars and pro sports members living high on the hog, but we think men of God shouldn't. Personally, I hope I would be a much better steward if I had the chance to have millions, but I just have a hard time judging him.

I will say, I've never felt led to support his ministry.

Just trying to look at all sides.

I am not here to defend Mr. Hinn, nor any other minister, nor am I here to knock anyone of them down.

if we are not part of the solution, we are part of the problem, such is the case with Mr. Hinn. Who has approached Mr. Hinn to let him know he is not doing right? have you? if you have not personally let Mr. Hinn know he is doing wrong, then you have nor right to spread Gossip about him. that is totally un Biblical.

for the Bible tells us, if we see our brother doing wrong then we are to approach him and let him know ( like in private, with out public ridicule ) and then if our brother ignores our counsel, then we are to get the assistance of another brother in Christ, to accompany us to correct our brother that is doing wrong, and if our brother still ignores our caunsel, then we are to take it before the Body,and again to try and bring our brother back on track...............ALL OF THIS HAS TO BE DONE IN LOVE.............

if this is not done in love, but in fault finding, guilt laying, then it is wrong......

who here has talked to Mr. Hinn in person about the way he is doing things????

who is talking to the entire world about the way they think Mr. Hinn is doing things wrong with out talking to Mr. Hinn??????

did you know it is also written that those that are gossips will be in the same category as liars when it comes to judgement day??? better read up about it.

also,

it is obvious you have not seen the price of new construction or even adding on to current buildings.......

to build a sanctuary that will seat about 1500 people and a few rooms for offices and class rooms runs in the neighborhood of about 10 million..... so asking for 2 million to head up a project is not much at all......

our pastor currently is giving more in tithes to the church then he receives from the church. he does not receive a percentage, but a salary, and also provides his own house. to say that the pastor is wanting more money from the church would not be true....

do you know what it takes to put on a stadium service?

do you know the cost that goes into it?

do you know the cost of television broadcasting?

do you know the cost of even a radio program?

how much would you say would cost a trip to India? for a man, his family, and crew? and then also to have all the required equipment transports as well?

what are you willing to give to God? the way it sounds you are willing to give a bit of time, but no money, or other resources.

how about your life? how much of your life will you give God?

most professed Christians only give God a couple hours a week, and then are clock watching as they do.

most people that find fault with others are doing nothing, or maybe very little.....

do you know that we all fall short? yep, there is none that have made it.... we all fall short....

an example of this can be seen in a race....... Mark Spitz, and me are in a swimming race, we are going to race from Key West Florida to Portsmouth England......

we take off and well, i was able to make it a mile ( a realistic distance for my younger years )...... Mark Spitz swims 100 miles.....

we both gave up.... so who was the winner?????

NEITHER, for we both fell short of the goal.....

people are condemning Mr. Hinn for falling short. it is time to look in the mirror and see who we are, it is time to look at the map and see where we made it to, I only made it a mile in the 2000 mile race, hmmmmmm, Mark Spitz made it 100 miles hmmmmm...... so where did you make it to????

here is a little known or thought about fact...........

for the people out there that have never made a mistake, for the person out there that has never errored, you will find that this errorless person has not ever done anything. for if a person is to do something ,they will make errors and mistakes, but to not make a mistake, one must never do a single thing. and that my friend, is a mistake in itself........................................

did you know there are many many many people that are sitting in the church pews "waiting" to be called, claiming they have not received their calling. they have turned a deaf ear to the Lord, and have found it easier to just sit and warm a pew........ there are many of these pew warmers that are real good "arm chair quarterbacks," they know the rules, they know the plays, but do not act on what they know.... the true fact is, that they are not even any good at warming a pew, for they are the only ones that benefit from the warmth of the pew they have warmed, they are selfish, they want to point fingers and find fault with everyone and everything about them.....

a person this past week told the pastor that they were tired of the people that were coming to this congregation.... why?? cause the people that are coming to this fellowship are those that have had much to be forgiven. those that were lost, and blind and crippled in society, and are now functioning, former drug dealers and users, long hairs, we even have a former high priest of a cult that repented of his ways and is now in battle for the Lord.....

if you are not in battle for the Lord, you have already been taken captive...

being we are in battle, why are we allowing each man to fight on his own, why not take up arms and help your fellow man fight this battle.....

are you shooting at Mr. Hinn? from behind enemy lines? or are you facing the enemy with others that are for the Lord and standing shoulder to shoulder?

you know the Armor of God does not have any parts that cover the back. so if you get hit in the back you are either running from the enemy or you have a turncoat in the ranks that is attacking those they are professing to be part of.....

I can just about guarantee that Mr. Hinn covets your prayers for the work he is doing for the Lord, not your slander or back biting or back stabbing. but then again, if you will not pray for the man, then i would ask you not to shoot at him either. being on the front lines is not easy..... if you think you can do a better job, against the world then Mr. Hinn, then I suggest you get out there and join the battle on the front lines, instead of hiding in the bunker or in the prison that satan has already placed you in so that you feel safe......

I thank the Lord there are men ( and women ) that are not scared cats, that are not afraid to place their life on the line for others, that are not afraid of a bit of ridicule from those that are weak in faith, that do not believe that God can still do things and does still do things in His ( God's ) time......

a young lady of about nine years old, spoke a bit of wisdom that most adults i know of would not ever even think about..... this young lady had a rare form of leukemia, one that had yet been beaten by man. one day the doc told her parents that there was no more need for chemo or radiation, for it wasn't doing any good. the little girl replied that she would remain on it cause she did not know if God was done working with the Doctors yet......... later, this little girl told her parents that God was going to heal her. her parents didn't understand what this little girl was talking about, and the girl said that God Heals All His Children. some here on this earth ( not all ) and all of them when they get to go home.

this little lady, this wise young lady is now fully healed. no more pain no more illness, NONE WHAT SO EVER.

why God allows some to be healed on this earth and others don't receive it until they go home is not for me to question, for that is the way God wants it.....

just as the three hebrew boys ( men ) were being placed ( thrown ) into the fiery furnace, they said no matter the outcome, God still rules.... even if God does not save them from it God is still the one for them....

oh ye of little faith,

all i can say, is we need to stop shooting each other in the back and stand beside each other, rebuilding the City walls with one hand and sword in the other defending each other as we build the City ............... or should I say we need to stand shoulder to shoulder, with our sword in one hand and working to build the CHURCH with the other..... and when a brother calls for help, we should all run and assist..... and if a brother is unable to call for help and we know he needs help we should sound the alarm and run to his aid.......

oh no, we are not like that, we have a brother that got knocked down with a stone, and we go and thrust our sword in to his throat....... he is only slightly wounded and we are pronouncing him dead...............

WHY ???????????????????????

Lift our Brother up.........

Mend his wounds.........

Anoint our brothers in need.........

MERCY TRIUMPHS OVER JUDGMENT

I have but one question. Why would one whose relationship with God is so close that God works miracles through him, yet so fearful for his life that he must have body guards? Where is the fearless faith of a true desciple? I will not say that I am any better, and yet I am not professing that God chooses to heal through me either. Even so God has allowed this apostacy for a purpose. May God have mercy on those who would seek to steal his glory. Yet, let us not cease to seek truth and in so doing may in the discovering of Gods' purpose lead us to find greater purpose in ourselves.

That all sounds good, but there are those who believe totally opposite of some of you and believe that this man is a charletan (sp?) who is HURTING the precious name of Christ and making a mockery of it. And that OBLIGATES us to expose him. Exposing something hurting our Lord is not "gossip", it's our obligation. As strongly as you feel about your position, so does the other side. And, funny how, during all of the negative and unkind things said on this board about non-Christians, no one ever complained about "gossip".

One person who is condemning the anti-Benny Hinn posters even said they've never watched him. By what then, do you base your beliefs? He claims he's a man of God, so he automatically deserves respect and belief? Hardly. Sorry, no.

Frankly, I will never understand anyone who, after watching one show (appropos word) of Benny Hinn's, could take him seriously again and believe in him. Or those who, in the face of proof, continue to support him. But that is certainly anyone's right. God did give us intelligence and discernment, though.

As for me, I will continue to try to protect new, impressionable Christians from him and those like him.
