I have a friend on facebook that posted this question in regards to the topic on the subject line.  Has the Bible become our god?  Then a sub sequential post stated" The Holy Spirit does the teaching- not the Bible. And this last one stood out to me as well...How did Abraham now the voice he heard was from God(I suppose the inference is that he didn't have a bible)?  How do you respond to those types of questions without coming off as aggressive?  Thanks.

The Holy Bible is the truth.

God is the truth.

Where's the conflict?

We do not worship the Bible but the God the Bible directs us to.

Beware superficial reasoning and subterfuge argumentation.

2 Peter 1:20–21 (AV)
20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.
21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

1 Thessalonians 5:21 (AV)
21 Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.

1 John 4:1 (AV)
1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

Acts 17:11 (AV)
11 These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.

2 Timothy 3:16–17 (AV)
16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

The Holy Spirit wrote the Bible. The Holy Spirit interprets the Bible. We are to test every spirit to be sure it is the Holy Spirit teaching us (revealing truth to us). We test the Spirit by the Bible.

Remove the Bible from the equation and anything goes... look at the world around us and see how that's working out!

You could answer these briefly.  So this answer is "No".

"The Holy Spirit teaches what is revealed in the Bible".

God identified Himself to Abraham as God.

There is no conflict between the Holy Spirit and the Holy Bible, since He is the Author of the Bible.

Holy?

The truth?

There is only one who is Holy, and the Truth and his name is Jesus, and we have the witness of the Father, who call him Holy, while he was a grown up man, and the witness of the Angels at the time of his birth, to Myriam, and to the Sheppards.

And the witness of the Angels who cry Holy-Holy is the Lord. And numerous other witnesses of the Father and the events that took place, not only the resurrection , but the Honors and the Authority the Father bestow upon him. And the inheritance he received and the right to santicfied those who believe in him.

In the old testament we see that the Lord sanctified the things in the Temple and made them Holy, even the priests who touch the Holy things.

He never said that the material which Moses use to right the instructions of the Law are Holy, and neither the copies there off.

And the Lord was not limited to what he told Moses at the very beginning, but as the need arose for new instructions, he guided the people with new guidance, sort of amending the original guidance, to include those who were excluded from the original instructions.

There many examples, that is telling us that he remain active in guiding the people and he did not lost his willingness to continuously guide the people and amend some of the original instructions.

God?

Jesus is the truth , anything that he spoke was the truth, he was the only one who had the word of God in his hart, and he spoke it to the people, the people heard the word of truth from Jesus, they did not here the voice of God the Father.

A lot of conflict .

Every time people who read the bible, which includes the new and the old testaments they get mix up and confused.

Is not easy to discern which is what.

It is like in the Tower of Babel, the same thing when the scriptures are read , we can here all kinds of explanations, and a lot of infighting.

We do have the words of Jesus which are recorded in the new testament ,

And the events that sourounded his ministry and his promise that there many more things to say after his Asention which the Holy Spirit will reveal it to us as the need arise through out the generations.

Hope not.

Depends what part of the bible you are reading.

There are many who read the bible and worship the God in the Old Testament, and they use the scriptures to denied Jesus Christ, or to twist things from the Bible.

The apostolic times and the years after them, there was less conflict , but with the availability of the scriptures to the mashes the conflicts multiple, where we have   two people who start reading the bible together and soon they go separated ways, judging one another that they are not of the same Spirit, but they are both believers in Jesus Christ.

Both of them disagree and accused one another that they are not guided by the Holy Spirit.

If Paul live in our times, he will give instructions that are relevant to our times and the different cultures.

The Slave owners used the bible , and they were reading the bible to justify what they were doing, and that's the time when their slaves loved Jesus with all their harts, and were loved by Jesus more than their masters.

Jesus suffered injustice also, and he had the reason to love them more than the unjust masters, and not all of them, but the monsters of them, who whipped the people the way he was whipped .

Am I out of the subject, I hope not, and if someone wants to suppress the women, they are on their own , and not to use the bible to bring peace to their conscience , just like the Slave Masters in their time.

Why there is conflict, and disagreements?

We need the specific guidance of the Holy Spirit in many diverse situations, as Jesus said , do not worry what to say when they bring you in front of your leaders, for I will put the words in your mouth as to what to say.

And as Peter when he went to Kornilious family he departed from his ways , for he went their as a mission from Jesus, and Jesus told him do not speak from your self and your own understanding, do not promote your own agenda, for when you are there I will put my words in your mouth, and you will speak them , the Holy Spirit will take you over.

At the beginning the other disciples who were not with him, judge him that the Spirit he follow was not in agreement with their Spirit, so they judge the work of the Holy Spirit by their own Spiritual understanding ,

And they told Peter that he was deceived at first.

See now how you, me, and everyone else are judge by everyone who is from a deferent spiritual family, but never the less believers in Jesus Christ.

The Devil is not part of the Redemption of Jesus Christ, so their faith that Jesus is the Son of God, can not be counted to them as the righteousness of God.

The Bible is the authority. Yes the holy spirit guides us, but if the Holy spirit tells us something that's not in the Bible or is that is contrary to it, then it's not the Holy Spirit. The Holy spirit will not contradict the Bible or give you extra biblical advice.

I always felt it all went together. I suppose I would need more info on why someone would need to ask this question. As I do not think the Holy Spirit would lead us to do anything that it says in the Bible not to do. But life does get complex sometimes. But really I would need to know why the question is being asked. Like does this person feel they are being lead to do something that the Bible says they shouldn't?

Jesus made one promise to his disciples, he said that I am going away but I won't leave you as orphans, I will sent the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of TRUTH to guide you, what ever the Spirit tell you , it is as If I am the one to speak to you, the Holy Spirit is my Agent and will speak from my behave , the same when I was here on earth , I spoke to you the words of the Father, so the Holy Spirit will speak my words to you, the Holy Spirit will take from me and bring to you, to CORRECT and GUIDE.

We must recognize that we also have our own spirit that guide us, everyone has, and there is no exception to that.

We also have the guidance of other spirits , the spirits of our teachers, or our parents, or anyone we allow to have influence on us.

You can see that, when people say something they make reference to the one they follow , they mention the sourse they have accepted as their guidance.

For some reason they have adapted this sourse as their light.

And later some may fall away from the light they used to follow and then they follow a different light.

And that's what we do, when we give the Gospel to no believers, we try to give them a new guiding light, but always as it is the case, many guiding lights co-exist in people, and not only in regarding to what the believe and how they practice their religious duties, but in every aspect of theirs, (our), lives.

It is good to refer to specific examples and see how the Holy Spirit was involved and how it help in the maturity of the disciples of Jesus Christ, and even see the conflict in them, not only the conflict between them self's and their groups, but also the conflict inside the same person, and the role the Holy Spirit play to bring this conflict in them, to lead them and bring their feet in the right path. .

We must study the examples we have in the bible. And follow the disciples on the road to their maturity. Hope to make good use of the information we have in the bible.

Such people who ask that question are people who don't accept the bible as the one and only source of authority on earth. Catholics and Charismatics, Mormons, and JWs, they all believe that the bible is not enough for them. Therefore when we go solely to the bible for God's word and not to man's false traditions, they accuse us of what they like to call "bibliolatry", or idolizing the bible.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
