Biblical Jesus vs modern Jesus

Like 18:8b asks a very important question, which when examined, relates very nicely to the OP.

Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will He really find faith on the earth?

If those, who say they are called, have no idea of what they believe in, faith will not be found.  "Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God."

I really never heard of this postmodern Jesus. Maybe it's because I almost never get out. I know lots of people don't like what Jesus taught because He sure did condemn sin, but I never heard of this.

Postmodernism has been around for some time now.  It is based in philosophy and is a term meaning, in simple terms: Postmodernism holds a premise that no definite terms, boundaries, or absolute truths exist.   In other words, what you believe from scripture as true does not mean that same truth was given to me.  Truth is not absolute and changes from one person, place and time to another.

Jesus has never changed. Past, Present and Future. This being said, I fellow the only Jesus that the word teaches us about. have a good one.

So what is this post saying, that there are churches out there where the pastors are preaching this false version of Jesus? If so it makes me glad I don't go to a church. If I heard a pastor say stuff like this I'd probably get up and walk out. 20 years ago I might have stayed late and had a dispute with him but nowadays I don't argue much.

Certainly, but that is no reason no avoid the church. There are many good pastors as well, and a book which we claim to follow which commands us not to forsake the fellowship.

I don't avoid the churches because of this. I never even heard of this. I've just never been able to find a church I felt at home in. I almost did in 1991 but I don't live near there anymore. Things are different around here compared to where you are. But I was never a church going person. I just wasn't raised that way. I was raised to believe in God and I certainly do but churches was another issue.

But if Christian churches are preaching this post modern idea of who Jesus is no wonder the country is such a mess. IMO the only hope for America is to go back to people living with real morals. It's not so bad I lived most of my life that way.

"Things are different around here then where you are."  This is so true.  I live in NH and the difference between the churches in my area and those within the "bible-belt" are night and day.  Most are robotic in nature, where there is very little real life, if any at all.  Others are false teaching bodies where you need to go to school through them to be a prophet or healer ...  In the South, people are warmer to each other, acceptable of new people.  In the NE, people are standoffish, very protective of what "they have" and are weary of new people.  It is just the mindset of the people who live in the areas.

Praying God shows you a local body you can be part of.
