When Manoah and his wife saw this, they fell on their faces to the ground." - Judges 13:20 "And Manoah said to his wife, "We shall surely die, because we have seen God!"" - Judges 13:22 It seems the Angel of the Lord was not unpleasant in any way. NASB That is only if God chooses to transform an angel into some other physical appearance than they are.
