I understand what you are saying Davida.  I'm not politically correct, probably because what political correctness is all about in my view is to oppress and silence opposing views.  I would disagree that this wasn't for laughs though, she is playing to her crowd.  The problem with someone like Kathy Griffin is that they don't live in the same world we do, these people honestly believe that everyone thinks like they do except for a small contingent of people who are out in left field.  They don't realize they are the ones out in left field because they don't know right from wrong.

I don't dismiss it as comedy either, it is not funny in the least.  I don't find any modern day comedians funny for that matter, other than a few exceptions.  Comedy today is centered around politics, and I don't find that an amusing topic, it doesn't help that most of them are liberals either.  I don't approach liberty as given to me by the Constitution, that was simply luck in geography for me, liberty was given to us by God.  People can choose their own path, and Kathy Griffin has chosen hers, as she has made clear over the course of time.  So I will pray for her, and at the same time defend her God given liberties, regardless of how tasteless I find them to be.

The entire hate speech, hate crimes category is nonsense to me, born of political correctness and another form of tampering with freedom by distinguishing between specific groups as to what is allowed or not allowed.  It is rooted in inequality, which I am fervently opposed to.

What I'm sick of is hearing the term "hate speech" thrown around. Are there words that are hateful? Absolutely! Was what she did hateful? Absolutely it is. But it's a thin line when we start censoring speech of any kind, sure let's censor "hate speech" and look at what will happen.

First who would define hate speech? The government or the people? Right now the people, they don't like what Griffin said so her career is going down the tubes, which is the way it should be.

But if the government defines it, well first it will start with stuff like this, then it will go to anyone who disagrees with the government for any reason. In fact were already seeing I'm areas where Christians are being accused of hate speech just because they speak out against homosexuality and abortion.

I don't know about you but I was raised on the phrase "sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me"

Is it hateful? Sure. Am I going to lose any sleep over it? Not at all. I'm just going to spend my money and time watching christian comedowns like Brad stein.

Goodness grief,in the 60's people got thrown in jail for defacing the American Flag when they wore them as halter tops,bandanas etc,,,,& of course ,burned them

The law should always be applied even-handed, but it is not the case and never will be as long as the enemy is in charge.  It won't get better either, it is only going to get worse.  The very people who coined the term hate speech think just like Kathy Griffin, so if you are expecting her to be punished it isn't going to happen that way.  We the people can deliver our own justice, and it will hit home with more impact.  This is exactly why I don't go to comedy clubs anymore, don't go to the movies anymore, and don't watch TV anymore.  The enemy controls these things and there is nothing in it for me.  I can object to what they stand for without sinking to their level.  We all know you can't convince someone of the truth by beating them over the head, anymore than they can convince us of their lie by beating us over the head with it.

Griffin has two things going for her:   1.  She has celebrity status.   2.  Her target was Trump.   Had this been any other president in the past such as Clinton, Bush or Obama, she would have been in jail in 24 hours of posting that video.    It is only because Trump is the target that we suddenly find people trying to parse the 1st Amendment and re-interpret it to making something like this okay.
