What was Jesus'/God's problem with the Pharisees?

I get that Matthew 23 is where Jesus addresses them, but if they were following God's Law to a tee as God intended, why did Jesus address them?

From reading Matthew 23 it sounds as though they were telling people what to do but not doing it themselves.

They were living by their traditions, not by the meaning of Scripture. They didn't even know that the coming of their Messiah was at hand because they didn't know their own Scriptures.

The pharisees kept adding and adding their own traditions to Gods own law making it alot harder to follow it. Theyd then put these traditions on the same level as Gods actual word. So people might be confused as to how they were to live because of all the add ons.  Think of the catholics and their doctrines on saints, Mary, purgatory , priest celibacy etc. Same principle.

Theyd also do good to be praisedcrather then doing good for doing its sake eg a pharisee would have somesone right a bell so people would know that they were giving money to the poor

They sought the law as a means of earning their own righteousness not by the faith of living it.

Any man who justifies himself by the law will stand only condemned.  For all have sinned.  That the law shows us quite well.

This self righteousness caused a don't come near me I am holier than thou attitude .  That is a blast of smoke to the nostrils of God.

They did not know the law, for they did not have faith in God.  Their own torah points to JESUS as the savoir. Yet they went about making their own salvation

and had no idea when the real savoir had come.  They said Do , yet they did not.  It all points to hyprocrisy.

a number of you all had right points.  Overall the view was one for appearance and praise of men.   Not the praise which is for God alone.

why one does what he does is as important as what he does.   Yes, I see another made a good point, they added their own traditions which would contradict

GODS LAW.   rather odd today the churches do the same.  they teach for the commandments of Christ the traditions of men who twist his sayings

and give excuse on why its okay to omit them or change them.   Bad news on judgment day , real bad news.

We cant go around like the Pharisees and twist remarriage , or gay marriage , or justify war, or self defense

or justify why its okay to do something JESUS made quite plain was not okay to do.  and to not do things he said TO DO>

I have watched many change many things. and say things like that was for that time , that generation , or the jews only or whatever excuse

to not keep his sayings.   Just like the Pharisees.    I SAY this .  IF JESUS said to do we do if he said not to we don't.  HOW SIMPLE IS THAT.

HIS BURDEN IS EASY HIS YOKE LIGHT.............but men have made confusion of a simple walk in order to justify their own hearts desires.

REMEMBER if JESUS said do , DO, if not to do DONT

and he had many sayings for all ages amen.

notice the add ones always contradict truth.   Saul got rebuked hard core for having samuel raised.  WE DO NOT PRAY TO THE DEAD . nor commune with them.

Anyone want to tell me why, in christain circles its huge to talk to the dead these days..............

John got corrected for kneeling to an angel. we don't kneel nor pray to angels, saints or anyone BUT GOD .

purgatory became one money making machine for the ole roman church back in the day...............throw a copper and when you hear the bell ring

a soul from puragatory does spring.   YEAH, they did that .  they don't do it today .  But I got bad news.

I have seen men in high places...........bowing down to budda, kissing korans and saying we all worship the same God.

That has got to be the absolute worst thing to do..............but hey they say its for world peace and God is love.

Thing is..........I never heard God say he was in all religions , fact , he said DO NOT WORSHIP the gods ofother nations.  HE AINT IN THEM>

nor did I ever hear GOD say , hey unite with all un believers , unite join hands with other religions  for world peace.

Got real bad news.  this wicked interfaith will lead all the churches as wellas all religions as well as all non religious RIGHT TO THE SON of PERDITION

who by PEACE, key word there, PEACE shall destroy many.   But hey GOD IS LOVE is the motto , so everybody gets saved and everyones way is right.

What a dung pile message .    Now I did not make mention of no names........I did however go after the most wicked religion ever made

INTERFAITH.  soon all who conformed not to its way of seeing things will be seen as haters only.   And when the dark king arrives

he will guide the whole world , all religions , all denominations , all non religious together with the worlds largest ecumenical movment

ever seen.  THEN all who went not under the delusion , bought not the lie, and remained in the JESUS ONLY SAVES

will be hunted down in the greatest tribulation the world has ever seen, will see, or ever will be again.   But hey its for world peace so it must be LOVE.

My oh my. people are getting deceived. muslims, christains , jews, buddists, non believers all uniting for a common cause

what little the world does know.    How well has it worked out in times past when men come crying PEACE..............ask six million jews

Man history is repeating , only now its world wide.  muslims, christains buddits , more and more all welcomining in gays now

all welcoming in whatever just for the sake of peace.  And no marvel most the religions were false to start with

so its no surprise they going under this monsterous delusion .  But you know what makes it so out rageous in the eyes of GOD

it was a so called christain church that started interfaith.  what a smack to THE SON of GOD who said HE was the ONLY WAY.......

I tell all, the lukewarm will have it worst on the day of judgment than any other.

WE better get busy warning men and warning all that ONLY JESUS saves

and we better get busy trusting GOD over men, GOD who said DO not be unequally yoked together ,

JESUS did not come to bring world peace, peace on earth, but rather divison.  The gospel OFFENDS

and thus soon it will be in the way OF the message for world peace. HAS any figured that one out yet.

Men like me and anyone else who truly believes will be enemy number one , for all others will go under the delusion.

ONLY the ones in the lamb will not believe the lie.   NO FEAR.............rejoice when you are persecuted

and forgive all their trespasses...............forgive even those who will come to kill you......FORGIVE........never CONFORM

they aren't saved believers, just pretenders. Mindfulness is about hot word to use especially in diversity training at work. It's all new age which seems from Hinduism in many ways. Transcendental meditation or mantras, same old devil garbage to take your focus off Christ.

This is a fair observation. 

They did not have other Gods, as sometimes in the past their unsestors did . 

They follow the Law of Moses, the kept the Temple whorship and the dayly sacrifices. 

The were strict to observe all the Holidays in the book of Law. 

They were not adulteres, and they punish aduldery with death. 

They were very charitable. 

They had the same moral values as the Evangelicals have today. 

Then why is their morality is judge by the Christians through out the centuries, when their morality in many cases exceeds that if the Christian. 

Even the morality if the Farisheos.
