Yeah our town is about 9000 people. They are expecting us to have over 80000 coming thru. They said the line to the event is over 20 miles long about an hour ago.

Supply and demand. People see a excuse to make money lol. Ive just been informed the price has gone up to 1600. There's a Indian reservation nearby that's renting out camping spots with no water, electricity, or services of any kind for $500 a spot. And people are paying.

I don't think the verse in Rev 16 is in reference to physical nakedness that the world sees and thinks about but symbolically and figuratively to our faith in Jesus as being clothed in Christ when we are in him, and he in us we are in perfect fellowship and righteousness. Rev 16:15  Is speaking more in the terms of having the nature of Christ for when we have his nature we are clothed. It is saying that as believer's we are to stay in perfect fellowship and not fall away and thus become spiritually naked.

Galatians 3: 27 for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ.

Its a great time for people watching. Except for the ones who have decided to walk around without clothes.

Oh them, they are just have excessive fear of pickpockets.

They are going to get a real "tingle up their leg" when the temperature drops to fifty degrees at fullest blackout. Whooie cold all of a sudden.

May God keep you all safe during this  event that has so drawn many to blackness. It's a rush to the dark side I guess.

Wonder how Murphy NC is going to make out with their seven extra port-a-potties and a few extra trash dumpsters. They allotted I think it was $4,000 of city budget funds for the control and safety there. Ha they have 70,000 or more coming there, and  they are not all going to fit in the Indian Casino.

Wow I just realized if it is packed already the shortage of supplies is going to be deeper and longer than most had figured. Could get to be pretty rough for a couple of weeks. May God bring clam  and safety to those caught short . May many be able to share of the basic provisions of life's needs too. I suspect the drain on resources will be cause for power outages too! The event could become a natural calamity more than an event to remember as a holiday occasion.

All of this to see a solar eclipse; I wonder what folks are looking for.... aside from the obvious, that is?

Selfies, they want selfies with  a caption "I was there, see?  It's me!". Oh well, you see the selfie is all black because.... but it is me right in the middle of that darkness.

Stray thought: I wonder how many automatic cameras and cell phones will set off their flash when taking pictures of the eclipse?

Flash- sending  beam of light, effective for a distance of eight feet, trying to light up an eclipse of the sun by the moon so that it can be captured on digital imaging devices,- kinda funny to think about.

Many States if not all have a legal limitation on pricing for rooms at motels and hotels and any temporary lodging facility, plus several have a law that says a hotel can never be out of their minimum advertised price room. They must provide a room at their lowest advertised price if there is a vacancy anywhere in the facility.

The sign on the inside of the entry door to every room explains the limits of what can be charged for that room. a typical notice reads as this one from California:

(a) Every keeper of a hotel, inn, boardinghouse or lodginghouse, shall post in a conspicuous place in the office or public room, and in every bedroom of said hotel, boardinghouse, inn, or lodginghouse, a printed copy of this section, and a statement of rate or range of rates by the day for lodging.

(b) No charge or sum shall be collected or received for any greater sum than is specified in subdivision (a). For any violation of this subdivision, the offender shall forfeit to the injured party one hundred dollars ($100) or three times the amount of the sum charged in excess of what he is entitled to, whichever is greater. There shall be no forfeiture under this subdivision unless notice be given of the overcharge to such keeper within 30 days after payment of such charges and such keeper shall fail or refuse to make proper adjustment of such overcharge.

So rumor or fact? I don't know, but I kinda have  doubt that many will risk losing their business over rate gouging, for the civil law attornies will have a field day with it if it happens.

Let's see a $150 dollar room for a gouging price of $1600. That's $1450 dollars times three for a total libility  to the innkeeper of $4350 per room. I don't see an innkeeper risking that. Plus there will be the group lawsuits against innkeepers by attorneys seeking damages for all those that suffered being turned away for lack of funds, and for the injuries they received from lack of shelter, etc.

No, I just don't see even us awful greedy landlord and innkeeper businesses types doing that to ourselves for a one time windfall opportunity. Though as a class we are awful people I am sure. Now if I were the ice cream vendor, would I move up the price of my ice cream? Nah.

Gas stations that gouge will likely find they have limitations on them too, same with Home Depot and other large suppliers. Most avoid the bad image they will get from gouging.

Why we are still a nation that has  history of price controls and average price standards. That is why we have rebates  as a sales driving vehicle rather than reduced sale prices on many items. No company can risk letting their average price fall too low and then get caught in another national or State emergency  price control scenario.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
