If American Christians understood what the Israeli government has done to Palestinian Christians living there, they would be outraged! Or, maybe not. Those Christians are Orthodox and Catholics, so they don't count anyway

I hope that you don't believe that all Christians that are Orthodox and Catholics see things as you described. I personally don't agree with how the Palestinian Christians are treated, but the Jewish Christians have been treated terrible as well. If you are a Christian, you will be persecuted. We are all one body in Christ.

I think a clear distinction should be made between the biblical nation Israel and the current country Israel.

I don't personally believe that the country Israel is the same as the biblical nation Israel.

Maybe not all but there are still people willing to die for their faith.

That's why there's such a big stink in Gaza. The settlers still feel that God gave them that land , and to give it up would be blasphemy :taped:

I think Shilo is correct, we are not really helping Israel at the present time as a government. What finances we give them have very long strings attached and those strings are in the process of choaking them to death.

But remember at the end when Christ returns that the whole world will be against the reminant of the house of Israel.

Much like Cerran, I am not sure that the country of Israel is the nation of Israel from the time of Moses, but I do think that the reminant of that old nation is within the modern country.

The Pharasees are also there and that is not such a good thing, just like it was not in the time of Christ. So it comes down to the bible being very correct when it tells us that Jerusalem would be the focal point of the world's problems during the last days.........

The land was taken by Israel in 1967 war, where they have occupied it with their military, ever since. The Israeli government allowed, Jewish settlements to be built in these areas, where Palestinians homes were bulldozed to the ground, in order to make room.

Also, we give aid to Israel in the tune of $6 billion per year. Yet, Israel is the 8th largest arms dealer in the world, competing against the US. Israel even sold missiles to China, in violation of the arms embargo.

If American Christians understood what the Israeli government has done to Palestinian Christians living there, they would be outraged! Or, maybe not. Those Christians are Orthodox and Catholics, so they don't count anyway.

I am not trying to improve on Yod's most excellent reply, but I also have some history for you, Jim.

Yes Israel took Gaza in 1967. They took it from the Egyptians. Israel did not fight the Palestinians. What you may not know is that for the 19 years that Egypt occupied Gaza, Palestinian children were dying preventable diseases, there was no sewage treatment, the people were starving because all the money sent to help was diverted by the Arabs to fight Israel instead of helping the poor Palestinians.

Israel, AFTER 1967, went into Gaza and built hospitals for the Palestinians, allowed the Palestinians to receive welfare, gave free medical care to the Palestinians, cleaned up their drinking water, built new modern sewer systems and sewage treatment plants. The Israelis even built schools for handicapped and otherwise disabled children as well. One such school was a school for blind children, and Arafat converted it to a weapons depot. The Palestinians quality of life under Israel improved by nearly 200% after 1967. Didn't you know about any of that? Maybe you should ask your ignorant hero, "Finklestein" (y'makh shmo v'zikron v'ad!!).

It would be a good idea Jim, that you get your facts straight before jumping on this board and spewing your ignorant tripe about Israel. You don't know beans about Israel except the misinformation from Finklestein you regurgitate like a parrot.

The Israeli government allowed, Jewish settlements to be built in these areas, where Palestinians homes were bulldozed to the ground, in order to make room.
You are sooooo full it. That is Jewish land and Jews can live whereever they want to live on the Land promised to them by God. The homes that were bulldozed were being used as bomb making factories, or as "barracks" for the terrorist soldiers or as weapon storage facilities.

It is a legititmate defensive countermeasure. In some places like Rafah, the houses were used as a place to store weapons that were smuggled through tunnels. Not only that but Jews, including military personnel were being killed by Palestinian snipers from those houses. In fact, in Jan. of 2002, Israeli bulldozers also tore the Gaza international airport runway, and found an entire system of tunnels leading to Rafah.

At no time has Israel ever built a single Jewish home on the rubble of a bulldozed Palestinian house. But then again, when has accuracy ever meant anything to you where this isssue is concerned?

Also, we give aid to Israel in the tune of $6 billion per year. Yet, Israel is the 8th largest arms dealer in the world, competing against the US. Israel even sold missiles to China, in violation of the arms embargo.

First of all we only give Israel $3 billion, and a significant portion of that is returned to us since Israel is required to use that money to buy American weapons. We sell weapons and give aid to Israel's enemies all the time. Currently Egypt receives $2billion a from the United States. We have sold tanks and destroyers to Egypt, and who knows what else.

What is Israel doing that other nations are not doing as well? The arms "embargo never specified which weapons were affected, nor how the embargo would be monitored. The arms embargo was a European response to the 1989 Tiananmen square incident. Since that time, Italy and France have sent radar systems, rockets and airplanes to China. Italy and Spain have delivered helicopter technology that is now used in Chinese military helicopters. A firm in Germany since 1989 received appx. 2000 contracts for diesel engines to be used for Chinese submarines.

Even American firms are selling weapons to China inspite of the US objection to lifting the embargo.

What Israel sold to China, are called "dual-use-wares," equipment that can be used for both civilian and military purposes.

If American Christians understood what the Israeli government has done to Palestinian Christians living there, they would be outraged! Or, maybe not. Those Christians are Orthodox and Catholics, so they don't count anyway.

Oh Please... Israel hasn't done anything to the Palestinian Christians. The Palestinian Christians enjoy more freedom in Israel than they would in any Arab country. They have complete freedom of religion. When Arafat took over Bethlehem, the Palestinian Christians had to leave for fear of their lives. Guess where they went for protection? To Israel. In Israel they have freedom of religion, and their churches are not demolished. The ONLY Palestinians Christians that have problems with Israel, are those who sided with Arafat and Co.

How many nations are the same nation they were 2,000 years ago?

How many nations are the same nation they were 200 years ago?

How many nations are the same nation they were 20 years ago?

why do you think they call it Israel?

There's no way Israel as a nation would be in existance if not for the hand of the Lord.

For one - when has the Lord ever let the Jewish people get away with stuff that's not of Him? Do you really believe He would let them repossess the land apart from His plan?

For second - they've been up against too many odds to have made it by their own effort.

The Lord has them gathered there for a reason.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
