Stop. Scripture does not say he was a resident there. Like when Satan is thrown out of Heaven when he fights Michael and his angels. Satan goes into the Abyss to rally some of his troops. Then Satan purses the woman (Israel) for 42 months. Later, Satan who came up out of the Abyss will kill the Two Witnesses. Satan (Abaddon) is the leader of those angels who are bound in the Abyss, and those fallen angels who are not bound in the Abyss. There is only one leader of fallen angels, Satan. He was in the Garden of Eden. The star (Rev 9:1) which fell from heaven was given the key to the Abyss. Rev 20:1 - And I saw an angel coming down out of heaven, having the key to the Abyss, and holding in his hand a great chain.... He seized the dragon.....
