I was telling Smiles one night in chat my thoughts on the subject. In the Bible we're told about Heaven that eye hasn't seen, ear hasn't heard, neither has entered into man's heart what Heaven is going to be like. As I told Smiles, I believe the same principle can be applied to Hell; we can imagine with our limited imaginations what it will be like but I would rest well assured it's worse than what we ever want to imagine. Thank God He sent His only Son so that we didn't have to go there!

I know that hell is such an awful place that Jesus was willing to suffer and die just so I would not have to go there.

AMEN <_<

I could not agree more with that statement.

Ok, I think I need to reword my question. I don't think I was very clear as to what I was asking :) Sorry about that, let me try again here.

"First, hardly anyone takes all the talk about hell being a place of fire and brimstone literally. The Bible uses a host of metaphors to describe this place..."

Let me just use this quote from the book. Is it true that "hardly anyone" takes it literally? I always thought that it was a literal description of hell, but this author seems to think differently. SO, let me ask again, what do you think about this?

Thank you Kindly

Daniel.

I believe hell is a literal place that doesn't exist yet. I also believe in part that what the author said was true. (Hell is being w/o God) I also don't believe its a place where the devil is having fun torturing you but a place where all the enemies of God go. I think that its a place for God's enemies that provides a sort of mercy for them. I don't think that darkness can exist with light...therefore someone with sin I believe would be grateful that God provided a place of Hell to remove them from his perfect being.

I believe that hell is the total absense of the presense of God. Even unbelievers have not felt what it's like to be completely out of Gods presense. Thats just my thoughts. Please don't bite my head off if you don't agree. Thank you.

God Bless You

Jacqueline

I have read a book about a woman who went to hell.

She described it in a very shockimg manner.

Terrifying manner, I would say.

The images in hell that she saw were horrific.

Won't say them now.

But they are are well and truly frightening....

I'm so glad God sent His Son to die for us!

Thankful Yomo
