Hi.

I think that I would like to wear something so I could be held without excuse when I tend to wander in my thoughts.

A reminder that it's not my life that I am living for anymore since I've been purchased by the blood of Jesus.

Perhaps a necklace with a cross, or one with just the name Jesus, or maybe a dog tag with the serenity prayer or biblical verse inscribed.

Would any of these actually make a difference in my heart and thoughts during times of struggles, and if so, what would be the best of those mentioned?

Thanks ahead.

Christian music helps a lot of people.  Some people say that it is a bad witness if they have a bad attitude and words while wearing a cross..   I like to wear one because I am not ashamed to confess Christ and I am not ashamed of the Gospel.

Yeah.

I found some on Amazon that left out wording on their products and most all didn't use the King James version of scripture.

Nice bracelets though, but I was hoping for something that could be worn closer to my heart.

I bought my grand daughter a small cross for her 9th birthday last year.   it was about an inch tall, was silver plated with Rhodium to keep it from tarnishing an a silver chain....  it cost about sixty dollars.    She loves it and it shows others your stand.

My wife has a couple that are 18 carat gold, but they were substantially higher priced than that.   She doesn't like bracelets for some reason

I buy more into the idea that one must carry the serenity of Christ within their hearts, rather than elsewhere. You can find a number of things online, though; keep in mind that the more specific your search, the more likely you'll be to find what you're looking for. Something like, "KJV necklace amulet".

On a side note, you should try to avoid anything that looks too much like a rosary. Not only are they Catholic, but they're not meant to be worn like jewelry.

What about the cross necklace worn by Vin Diesel in the movie The Fast and the Furious?  :emot-dance:

Addison,

The most that a piece of jewelry can do is to serve as a reminder of the kind of person we ought to be.  It can be helpful in the midst of distraction to refocus our hearts and minds on the thing that is truly important which is serving Christ.

But having said that, I have not found my piece of jewelry to be particularly helpful.  Some years ago I bought a piece of dichromate glass off of eBay with the purpose of using it as such a reminder. I put it on my keychain where I would see it every time I unlocked my car door or even played with my keys in my pocket.  I wanted it to serve as a helper to me and reminder that I am a child of God. But most of the time, I forgot about it. It just became a part of my routine. Perhaps it will be different for you, and I think it could be helpful, but it wasn't particularly helpful to me.

More seriously I have considered a tattoo of the holy dingle-dongle.

I call it that for lack of a word, it is the grafted in symbol of menorah fish and Star of David interlinked. Think it should go well in india black pacific rim style tattooing. https://store.levitt.com/GID I have it on one of my Bibles now. Maybe could find a stick on one for a trial. Anyone know if gold works as a color for tattooing? I'd rather have a gold tattoo of the holy dingle dongle I think.

Course as far as remembering, well I don't know if that would do it. I once was driving the church van with the church logo all over it.  Someone flipped me off as I drove along and without thinking I returned the salute.     How much of a reminder do I need?

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
