Whats your perspective on Christians dating online. Watching a video on it pointed out 2 sides of it.

1) Christians dating online is a sign of desperation and a lack of faith in God to provide  a spouse for you in his time and way. (i thought this was a personal opinion o mine but other christians have it as well it seems)

2. Its just another method of finding people and putting yourself out there thereby broadening your horizons. Just be sure to pray at every stage o it

I don't think it's desperation.  There are truly many younger Christians who aren't going to bars to find love and good for them.  Many of these also have no one at their church who is spouse material for them.  If they are careful and prudent.....I don't see the harm in it.

Let me ask my online "catalog" bride across from me now  online with her own computer, probably at the Zola Board. Hey Peach, are you happy we meet online?

She says; yes! I take her word for it. Dear  peach were you desperate to get married?  She says, no.

Be careful. I think it is inherently unsafe.

All of life is inherently unsafe.

It was pretty easy to safely meet my bride. We chose the River Walk at San Antonio for a long daytime walk, luncheon, and wow  a yogurt at the frozen yogurt shop. By the time of the yogurt cone I was pretty sure she was going to be the one for me. By the time we toured the Alamo and watched the movie Alamo, and she cried as she does at the Alamo when she visits, I decided my Lone Star State gal was perfect. Somehow she felt the same about me. I think the horse and carriage ride I suggested  convinced her.

Not at all. We flirted back and forth with music tunes on a Christian website, eventually exchanged  "Hello, Are you the one I'm looking for?"  (I just now have put in on my computer- it is playing, and she has lit up with a giant smile. Life is good.) Our other favorite to exchange was Van Morrison's "Starting a New Life". Anyway, we worked at it for many months like pen pals. We never asked for pictures, nor descriptions of each other.

I did run  up to five miles a morning for a few months to lose thirty five pounds of extra me and then we met. Over the many months we exchanged so many songs in our flirting, yet others on the board never caught on as they posted their own  favorite old songs love songs of one era or another and reminisced of their own lives. When we finally told the board members we had met and married they were amazed.

here's my opinion on the subject,   online dateing is not for everybody,  if you do meet someone nice then good for you,  but online dateing can be dangerous because there are a lot of people who ask for money on those sites & they end up stealing money from people,  or people lie & say who they are not who they say they really are in real life,  if it's God's will for people to meet then yes I believe that God can use that method

Well all I know is I have married two gals, never really dated  either one. Saw the first one walk by in a girl scout uniform- something about a gal in uniform, and I said to myself, hey I need a career because I am going to marry that beauty. She and I had life together for fifty years till death did part us. My second bride  caught my attention online posting  about matters of our Lord. She is younger than I am  by a few years, well more than the fingers on two hands few. I saw her post of a song from before her era that she liked and that was that. Our dating consisted of  meeting at the River walk and Alamo that one time. That was it and we knew and acted upon what God was doing in our life.

We are about to have a very small retreat cabin built  just for us. We have just signed up  for membership at a new to us church that is full of enthusiastic  Christians, and life is grand. Life seems worth taking the risk to live it to me. Guess I could have just sat on my couch  watching the tv flicker and eat popcorn, but hey that is not what God has willed in my life. Praise God for kicking me into gear to live life and enjoy the process. God is very generous as well as merciful. He encourages the living  of life. There really is no need to fear it.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
