I know that probably isn't trusting God but expecting nothing and just idk..acknowledging God's sovereignty helps me to be less disappointed and make sense of things.

Yes.   God is Faithful,  like / perfect Father with infant sons - little children simply overjoyed with Father, not expecting anything.

As written :  Love (the willing choice of joyful immediate obedience ) does not want anything it does not have. (no expectations).

Thus,  peace - as written:  There is great gain in Godliness with contentment.   No greed.  No idolatry.  No stress.  No depression, no anxiety ("be anxious for nothing, but in everything give thanks" )  in Christ Jesus as written.

Thank you. I always thought maybe God would be mad I don't expect good things from him. I don't expect much for myself but I'll definitely pray for others and have more faith they'll get the things they need or want.

I just think having no expectations is safe for me. I just don't believe in the prosperity gospel...not for myself anyway...I just don't...

For myself, I think the things I'll just limit myself to trusting... Is just food, a place to stay and salvation...mostly salvation. As the others are variables. I hope this isn't wrong of me to do.

Shalom Figure,

:( This makes me sad.

Please read the Parable of the Minas in Matthew 25:14-30.

If you expect nothing from our Good Father, then that might be exactly what you get.

It's right to not expect money or prosperity, but you should expect blessings, love, joy, shalom and His promises.

It's right you respect His sovereignty, but please believe in His goodness towards us :(

Love & Shalom

To expect nothing (literally) could well mean a lack of faith. But where people usually go wrong is to be too specific in their expectations; we want deliverance from a particular sin, we want instant healing, we want all our family to be saved...

I do expect God to do something - but I hope I've learned to leave the details up to the Holy Spirit. He has chosen to heal my body in some ways, but not in others. He has chosen to deal with some of my sins, but not others. He has answered some prayers, but not others. He will certainly do something in your life, but I wouldn't try to predict exactly what.

God does give us good things; but He and I may hold different opinions on what would be 'good' for me! So many of our prayers have selfish motives, unfortunately. I've received many blessings from God during my life, but most of them I hadn't specifically asked for!

I mean I do expect him to give me eternal life... I guess I do lack faith idk it's just a way to keep me from being disappointed when things don't pan out. And yeah I usually get things from God when I either don't ask or someone prays for it for me.

I believe in God to be good to others. Myself not so much...it's easier to just expect and accept the basics.. that way I feel I have more peace.

22 “Have faith in God,” Jesus answered. 23 “Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them. 24 Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. 25 And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.” -Mark 11:22-25

That always gets me. I always have doubt in my heart.. I'm nervous and anxious by nature and I feel anxiety can be summer up as doubt and fear.

I know I'm probably incredibly difficult 5o deal with but my faith is at zero. I just believe in basic things. Such as God's existence, the fact he'll take me to heaven if I follow him. I just don't have the strength, desire to believe in much else. I'm tired of being sad and disappointed.

Lets say you are a parent.....

And you have 2 Children.

The love you have for them, is going to manifest an intense caring concern for them, and you will want them to do well in life, be happy, be healthy, and never be POOR, BROKE, or Destitute.

Where do you think this natural instinct (in you) comes from, that you instinctively  would have for your children's well being, including never wanting them to be poor?

You would agree that you dont want your children to be POOR< and you would never wish this for them, or (God forbid) pray that they be "poor so that they can be spiritual".

Is anything crazier then a parent that would THINK like that, or worse, behave like that?

So, God, is our PARENT....our FATHER.........and it is never His will for his CHILDREN to be sick, broke, or suffering as the Devil would have it for us all.

Need proof?

Jesus said....."if you've seen me, you have SEEN the Father"...........so, as this is God talking, .. John 1:10..........Did you ever read a verse in a bible whereby Jesus ever caused anyone to be poor, sick, broke,  or unhappy?

Never !

God wants for you and me, exactly what any FATHER will want for their children.

The BEST for us.....always.

Remember that, and it will help you to realize the character and nature of God our "Father".

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
